Stuburt vs Three Putt: Men's Club Kit or UK Golf Streetwear

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

Two northern English golf brands with very different jobs: a Manchester name with Major-winning heritage that dresses the round, and a Leeds streetwear brand for everything around it.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict and Quick Pick
Stuburt is a Manchester golf brand with Major-winning shoe heritage, now selling men's club kit: £29.99–£49.99 polos and 10,000mm waterproofs under £100. Three Putt is a Leeds golf streetwear brand selling heavyweight graphic tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies from £23.99. Buy Stuburt for the round and Three Putt for the clubhouse and the weekend.
Best for off-course golf style: Three Putt. Golf-graphic tees from £23.99 and 430gsm hoodies from £45.99, with free UK delivery on every order. It's casual clothing, so it won't satisfy a collared-shirt rule or keep the rain off.
Best for on-course club kit: Stuburt. A £29.99 stretch polo, £49.99 water-repellent trousers and a 10,000mm rain suit for £169.98, from a brand you can phone. The clothing is men's only and stops at 3XL.

Brand Overview
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is a UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds. It sells four garments: tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies.
Each comes in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green. The idea is golf culture you can wear anywhere, rather than a full on-course wardrobe.
That focus has honest limits. The range has no polos, trousers, shorts, outerwear, waterproofs or caps, and no women's-specific line. If your club has a collared-shirt dress code, you will need a polo from elsewhere.
Stuburt
Stuburt is a Manchester golf brand that traces its name to the shoemakers Stubbs and Burt, who started out in 1860. It is owned by World Wide Golf Brands Ltd of Whitefield, and the trade press describes Graeme Stevens as owner and managing director.
The golf heritage is real. Graeme McDowell won the 2010 US Open and Darren Clarke the 2011 Open in Stuburt shoes. The brand also dresses Sergio Garcia's Fireballs GC on LIV Golf.
Shoes are now a small part of the business. In October 2026 its own store listed 76 products, mostly men's golf clothing and accessories. Footwear is down to a single golf boot, the waterproof Evolve Sport II (£69.99).
The clothing is men's only: the sole women's items are a version of that boot and a glove. GolfOnline and Clubhouse Golf both list the range. American Golf, Scottsdale Golf and Function18 didn't in October 2026.

Key Features and Fabrics
Three Putt Golf
- Tees: 100% cotton, 260gsm, relaxed fit, S–3XL, five colourways per design.
- Long-sleeve tees: 280gsm, 85% cotton / 15% polyester, loose drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL.
- Sweatshirts: 400gsm cotton crewneck, regular fit, S–2XL.
- Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton / 44% polyester, oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, four colourways per design.
These are heavyweight casual garments, not technical performance wear. They make no claims to moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection.
Stuburt
- Urban Performance polo (£29.99): 92% polyester and 8% spandex, with 4-way stretch, moisture management and UV50, in seven colours and S–3XL.
- Hustle and Play Well polos (£39.99–£49.99): the Hustle adds a ribbed texture, and the Play Well St Andrews polo has side vents and UPF50+.
- Midlayers (£34.99–£69.99): the Bae hoodie (£49.99) is 4-way stretch with moisture management. The Keen pullover and Steers midlayer are thermal and windproof, and the Dash gilet is padded.
- Waterproofs: the Zenith jacket (£99.99), short-sleeved Fracas (£79.99) and Shard trousers (£69.99) are rated 10,000mm waterproof and 5,000 breathability, with taped seams and 4-way stretch.
- Trousers and shorts: the Simp trousers (£49.99) are lightweight and water repellent, and the Sparrow shorts (£34.99) blend recycled polyester and elastane.
The two ranges only meet at the casual end, and even there they differ. Stuburt's £29.99 Play Well Muirfield tee and £49.99 Bae hoodie use stretch performance fabrics. Three Putt's tees and hoodies are heavyweight cotton and cotton-blend streetwear.

Stuburt prices are the full prices on its own site in October 2026, shown to UK buyers in pounds with no import charges. Both brands sell from the UK.
On tops, the two sit close together. A Three Putt tee costs £23.99–£29.99 and Stuburt's Urban Performance polo £29.99. A Three Putt hoodie (£45.99–£54.99) and Stuburt's Bae hoodie (£49.99) are almost level.
Delivery changes the sums for small orders. Three Putt delivers free on every UK order. Stuburt charges £3.99 under £60, so a single Urban polo costs £33.98 delivered and a Bae hoodie £53.98.
Bigger orders favour Stuburt. A polo and Simp trousers come to £79.98 with free delivery, and the Zenith jacket and Shard trousers make a rated rain suit for £169.98.
Price Verdict
For a single top or hoodie, Three Putt is a little cheaper once delivery is counted. For a full on-course outfit, Stuburt is fair value: a performance polo, trousers and a rain suit for £249.96, all at full price. The two are priced for different jobs.
Fit and Sizing
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt tees run S–3XL, and the long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies run S–2XL. Tees have a relaxed fit, long-sleeves a loose drop shoulder and sweatshirts a regular fit. Hoodies are oversized with a drop shoulder. There is no women's-specific range.
Stuburt
Stuburt sizes tops by chest on its size guide: Small fits a 34–36in chest and 3XL a 46–48in chest. Note the gap: 2XL covers 42–44in, so a 45in chest falls between sizes.
Most polos, the Bae hoodie and the waterproof jackets run S–3XL. The Typhoon long-sleeve polo, Keen pullover and Dash gilet stop at XXL. Simp trousers come in 30–40in waists with 29, 31 and 33in legs, and Shard waterproof trousers in 32–40in waists with 27–33in legs.
Polo pages mark the fit as true to size, and the Urban polo is described as a regular fit rather than athletic. One September 2026 Trustpilot reviewer found the polo guide came up big and advised ordering your usual size. There is no women's or junior clothing.
Fit Verdict
Stuburt fits more golfers for the round, with S–3XL in most tops and three leg lengths on its trousers. Three Putt matches it at 3XL in tees, but its other garments stop at 2XL. Neither brand has a women's-specific range.
Style and Versatility
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is golf streetwear: graphic designs on heavyweight cotton, in relaxed and oversized shapes. A tee or hoodie suits a casual range session, the pub after a round or a weekend away. It isn't the top for a members' competition at a strict club, and it is no use in a downpour.
Stuburt
Stuburt is clean, mostly plain club golfwear: solid polos with raised textured logos, crew-neck midlayers and dark waterproofs. The Fireballs GC tour pieces are louder, and the Play Well capsule borrows its names from Open venues such as St Andrews, Muirfield and Portrush.
That makes it a safe choice wherever a golf dress code asks for a collar and proper trousers. Off the course, it still reads as golf kit: smart enough for the clubhouse bar, but none of it is cut as streetwear.
Style Verdict
Stuburt gets you through any dress code without fuss. Three Putt has far more personality for the clubhouse, the car park and the weekend.

Quality, Durability and Sustainability
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt's quality story is weight: 260gsm cotton tees, 280gsm long-sleeves, 400gsm sweatshirts and 430gsm hoodies. On sustainability, Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.
Stuburt
Stuburt publishes more hard numbers than many value brands: fabric compositions on its polos and waterproof ratings on its rainwear. A 10,000mm rating is fine for showers but modest next to premium shells rated 20,000mm and above.
Guarantees are short where they appear. The Jay waterproof trouser (£69.99) carries a one-year waterproof guarantee, and the Evolve Sport II boot a one-year waterproof warranty.
Buyers mostly like it. In October 2026 Stuburt scored 4.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 669 reviews, though only 19 arrived in the previous 12 months. National Club Golfer called its Alicante polo "extremely lightweight, almost barely noticeable when you're wearing it".
On sustainability, the only claim is recycled polyester in the Sparrow shorts, with no certifications. Product pages don't state a country of manufacture.
Quality Verdict
Stuburt wins on technical features for the money, with stretch polos and rated waterproofs under £100. Three Putt wins on heavyweight cotton for casual wear. Neither gives you much to check on sustainability.
Customer Support and Returns
Three Putt Golf
Delivery is free across the UK. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and note that you pay the return postage. Support is by email.
Stuburt
Standard UK delivery takes 3–5 working days and is free over £60, or £3.99 below, including BFPO and UK offshore addresses. Next working day delivery to the UK mainland costs £5.99 if you order by 12pm, Monday to Friday. Stuburt aims to ship orders within one working day.
The refund policy gives you 30 days from arrival to return unworn, unwashed items with tags, in the original packaging and with the returns form. You pay the postage back to Manchester. The refund covers the item and, when the whole order comes back, your original delivery charge.
There are no exchanges, so you reorder the right size and return the original. Faulty, damaged or wrong items go back at Stuburt's cost. Support is by email (info@stuburt.com), phone (0161 886 4010) or a contact form.
Support Verdict
Stuburt wins on returns and contact: 30 days instead of 14, a refund of your delivery charge on full returns, and a phone line. Three Putt wins on delivery, which costs nothing on any UK order. With both brands, you pay the return postage.
Our Pick
Buy Stuburt if you need men's kit to play in. A £29.99 stretch polo, £49.99 water-repellent trousers and a £169.98 rated rain suit cover a British golf year, and they pass any dress code. Accept plain styling, showers-grade waterproofs, a 3XL ceiling and paid returns with no exchanges.
Buy Three Putt if you want golf style for everything else. Heavyweight tees from £23.99, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies under £52 cover a dry round at a relaxed club and the drink afterwards, with free UK delivery. Three Putt makes no rainwear, and you will still need a collared polo from elsewhere if your club requires one.
Plenty of golfers could own both: a Stuburt polo and Shard trousers in the bag, and a Three Putt hoodie for the drive home. For more home-grown labels, see our guide to UK golf brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Three Putt vs Stuburt
Is Three Putt a good alternative to Stuburt?
Only for part of what Stuburt does. Stuburt dresses you for the round, with stretch polos, water-repellent trousers, thermal layers and 10,000mm waterproofs. Three Putt makes heavyweight tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies, with no collared shirts or rainwear. It's a complement for off the course and dry, casual rounds, not a replacement for club kit.
Which is better on the course?
Stuburt, clearly. Its £29.99 Urban Performance polo is 92% polyester and 8% spandex with 4-way stretch and UV50, and its Zenith jacket and Shard trousers are rated 10,000mm with taped seams. Three Putt's cotton tees and hoodies suit a dry round at an easy-going club. They make no claims to moisture-wicking or weather protection.
Which is better value?
It depends on the order. For one top, Three Putt edges it: tees cost £23.99–£29.99 with free UK delivery, while a £29.99 Stuburt polo costs £33.98 delivered. For a full outfit, Stuburt is better value, because orders over £60 ship free and its £169.98 rain suit has no Three Putt equivalent.
How do the fits and sizes compare?
Stuburt sizes tops by chest, from Small (34–36in) to 3XL (46–48in), with some styles stopping at XXL, and its trousers come in three leg lengths. Three Putt tees run S–3XL and its other garments S–2XL, in relaxed to oversized cuts. Stuburt's clothing is men's only, and Three Putt has no women's-specific range.
Which has better delivery and returns?
Delivery favours Three Putt, which charges nothing on any UK order, while Stuburt charges £3.99 under £60. Returns favour Stuburt: 30 days from arrival, and a full-order return refunds your original delivery charge. Three Putt gives 14 days from delivery. You pay return postage at both, and Stuburt doesn't offer exchanges.
Is Stuburt good quality?
For the price, yes. The polos use a 92% polyester, 8% spandex stretch knit with UV50, and the waterproofs carry 10,000mm ratings with taped seams. Trustpilot scored the brand 4.2 from 669 reviews in October 2026, and National Club Golfer praised its spring 2026 range. Just don't expect premium-shell storm protection or long guarantees.
Does Stuburt still make golf shoes?
Barely. McDowell and Clarke won their Majors in Stuburt shoes. In October 2026, though, its own store sold one golf boot: the Evolve Sport II at £69.99, in men's and women's sizes, with a one-year waterproof warranty. The rest of the catalogue is clothing and accessories. Three Putt makes no footwear either.
Are Stuburt and Three Putt sustainable?
Neither gives you much to check. Stuburt's only claim is recycled polyester in its Sparrow shorts, with no certifications and no country of manufacture on product pages. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims; its tees are 100% cotton. If sustainability matters most, look for brands that tie named certifications to specific garments.
