We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

The Fore Play podcast's golf line, sold from the US in dollars, against a Leeds golf streetwear brand selling heavyweight graphic cotton. Here's who should buy which.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict and Quick Pick
Barstool Golf is the golf line of Barstool Sports' Fore Play podcast: $70 stretch polos, quarter-zips, an adidas capsule with golf trousers, and a wall of hats. Three Putt is a Leeds golf streetwear brand selling tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies. Buy Barstool for the course and the podcast, and Three Putt for off-course style with free UK delivery.
Best for on-course kit and Fore Play fans: Barstool Golf. Performance polos at $70 (about £54) in 86% polyester and 14% spandex, $80 quarter-zips, $95 adidas golf trousers and hats, many of them made by '47. Its apparel runs to 3XL across the range.
Best for heavyweight streetwear bought easily from the UK: Three Putt. Tees from £24.99 and 430gsm hoodies from £45.99, priced in pounds with free UK delivery. Barstool charges $29.95 (about £23) to send an order to the UK, roughly the price of a Three Putt tee.

Brand Overview
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt Golf is a UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds. Its streetwear comes as tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies. Each comes in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green.
What's missing matters. There are no performance polos, trousers, shorts, outerwear, waterproofs or caps, and no women's-specific range. Three Putt is golf culture to wear around the game, not kit for a wet medal round.
Barstool Golf
Barstool Golf is the golf apparel line of Barstool Sports, built around the Fore Play podcast and sold through the main Barstool store. Fore Play launched in early 2017 and is fronted by Riggs, Trent and Frankie. Four-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner joined as a full-time host in March 2026.
The range is more serious than the merch label suggests. In October 2026 the golf collection listed around 160 products, roughly half of them hats and tees. The rest runs to stretch polos, quarter-zips, crewnecks, hoodies and an adidas Ultimate365 capsule, with '47 making many of the hats.
The gaps matter too. There are no golf shorts and no women's golf line, just two women's dad hats. The store is American and shows UK visitors its prices in dollars.

Key Features and Fabrics
Three Putt Golf
- Tees: 100% cotton, 305gsm, relaxed fit, in five colourways per design.
- Long-sleeve tees: 305gsm, 100% cotton, with a loose drop-shoulder fit.
- Sweatshirts: 400gsm cotton crewnecks in a regular fit.
- Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton and 44% polyester, with an oversized drop-shoulder fit, in four colourways per design.
These are cotton garments, not technical performance wear. They don't offer moisture-wicking, stretch technology or weather protection. What they do offer is fabric weight and a relaxed streetwear shape.
Barstool Golf
- Performance polos: most in-house polos, including the Blade Collar Polo III, are 86% polyester and 14% spandex.
- Quarter-zips and layers: the Golf Dad Performance Quarter Zip is 80/20 poly-spandex, and the Layering Performance hoodies 90/10.
- adidas Ultimate365 capsule: Butterspun polos with Climacool sweat-wicking, and tapered golf trousers in 88% recycled polyester and 12% elastane, with four-way stretch, a water-repellent coating and UPF. There's also a recycled-polyester anorak.
- Tees: the pocket tees are 6.1-ounce, 100% ring-spun cotton (about 207gsm), garment-dyed.
- Printed hoodies and crews: cotton-rich fleece with a cotton face. The Flag Hoodie is 70/30 cotton/polyester at 10oz per square yard (about 339gsm).
- Hats: 31 golf hats in October 2026, 14 of them made by '47.
The split is the key point. Polos, quarter-zips and the adidas pieces are genuine on-course kit, while the printed tees, hoodies and crews are cotton loungewear with the jokes on. That cotton side is where Three Putt competes directly, and its fabrics are heavier: 305gsm tees against about 207gsm, and 430gsm hoodies against about 339gsm.
Price Comparison
| Category | Three Putt | Barstool Golf (full price) |
| Tees | £24.99–£30.99 | $32–$35 (about £25–£27) |
| Long-sleeve tees | £28.99–£35.99 | Long-sleeve pocket tees $43 (about £33) |
| Hoodies and sweatshirts | Hoodies £45.99–£54.99; sweatshirts £37.99–£47.99 | Hoodies $50–$75 (about £38–£58); crewnecks $45–$70 (about £35–£54); adidas hoodie $100 (about £77) |
| Polos | Not sold | $70 for most in-house polos (about £54); adidas $80–$85 (about £62–£65) |
| Quarter-zips | Not sold | $80 (about £62) |
| Trousers | Not sold | adidas tapered golf trousers $95 (about £73) |
| Outerwear | Not sold | adidas anorak $115 (about £88) |
| Hats | Not sold | Mostly $35–$38 (about £27–£29) |
| UK delivery | Free | $29.95 (about £23) per order, plus duties and taxes at checkout |
Barstool shows UK visitors its prices in dollars, so the sterling figures are conversions at about $1.30 to £1. They are full prices, before the $29.95 FedEx fee and the duties and taxes Barstool collects at checkout.
Before delivery, the garments both brands make are close on price. The fee changes that on small orders. A single $35 pocket tee comes to $64.95 (about £50) before duties and taxes, against a Three Putt tee delivered free. A $65 printed hoodie lands at about £73 before taxes, against £45.99–£54.99 for a heavier Three Putt hoodie.
Barstool's real value is in the kit with no Three Putt equivalent. A $70 stretch polo is fair money for a performance polo, and $95 for adidas golf trousers is reasonable. Watch the final-sale rules, though: some golf tees are marked final sale, so they can't be returned at all.
Price Verdict
Before delivery, the two brands are close on tees, sweatshirts and hoodies. Add Barstool's $29.95 fee and Three Putt wins any small order of those. Barstool earns credit for fairly priced performance polos, quarter-zips and adidas golf trousers, none of which Three Putt makes.
Fit and Sizing
Three Putt Golf
Each garment has one fit. Tees are relaxed and run from S to 2XL. Long-sleeve tees have an oversized drop-shoulder fit (S to XL), sweatshirts a regular fit and hoodies an oversized drop-shoulder fit (both S to 2XL). The shapes suit layering and everyday wear more than a tucked-in round.
Barstool Golf
Barstool's adult apparel runs S–3XL almost across the board, with no XS or 4XL, and hats are one size. The adidas tapered golf trousers come in 30–44 waists, with 30–34 inch leg lengths in most waist sizes.
Fit varies by item. Verified buyers rate the Blade Collar Polo III as running marginally small, and Barstool calls the Clubhouse Premium Crewneck slim-fitting and suggests sizing up. UK orders can't be exchanged, so a wrong size means a new order plus a refund claim on the original, posted back to Ohio at your cost.
Fit Verdict
Barstool wins on size range: its hoodies and crews go to 3XL where Three Putt stops at 2XL, and its golf trousers come in waist sizes. Three Putt suits golfers who want a relaxed or oversized streetwear cut. Sizing carries more risk at Barstool for UK buyers, because there are no international exchanges.
Style and Versatility
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is golf streetwear built around six graphic designs, each across a hoodie, sweatshirt, tee and long sleeve, so a tee and a hoodie can match. Tees come in five colourways per design and hoodies in four. They suit relaxed rounds, the range and social golf. Golfers at clubs with a collared-shirt dress code will want a polo rather than a tee.
Barstool Golf
Barstool's look is podcast culture. Golf Dad prints, "Can't Drink All Day" pocket tees and Tiger Swing graphics all assume you know the show. The polos run from solid Blade Collar styles to loud all-over prints.
It can also dress a whole round. A stretch polo, a quarter-zip, adidas tapered trousers and a '47 snapback make a complete outfit from one store. A solid polo suits a members' club; a Golf Dad print is a talking point, which may be the point.
Style Verdict
Barstool wins for a complete on-course look and for Fore Play listeners who want to wear the show. Three Putt wins if you'd rather wear a golf graphic than a podcast's in-jokes, on heavier cotton, for the range, the pub or the sofa.

Quality, Durability and Sustainability
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt's quality story is about fabric weight: 305gsm tees, 305gsm long-sleeves, 400gsm sweatshirts and 430gsm hoodies. On sustainability, the honest answer is short. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims and holds no sustainability certifications. Its tees are 100% cotton.
Barstool Golf
Independent evidence on Barstool's clothing is thin, because most people buy it as fans first. The clearest signal is on its own store, where the Blade Collar Polo III scored 4.5 out of 5 from 12 verified buyers in October 2026. One praised its "very stretchy, soft material".
Much of the quality comes from partners: adidas makes the Ultimate365 capsule and '47 makes many of the hats. On sustainability, Barstool makes no claims for its own pieces. The adidas trousers and anorak use recycled polyester, but those are adidas's claims, and the product pages don't say where garments are made.
Quality Verdict
Barstool wins on technical fabrics, with stretch polos, quarter-zips and an adidas capsule behind them. Three Putt's case is heavier cotton on the garments both brands sell. Neither brand makes sustainability claims for its own clothing.
Customer Support and Returns
Three Putt Golf
UK delivery is free on every order. Support is by email at support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk. You can return items within 14 days of delivery: email support first, and note that you pay the return postage.
Barstool Golf
Barstool's shipping policy sets a flat $29.95 for the UK by FedEx International, taking 8–14 business days once the order leaves the warehouse. Allow up to two weeks before that, because product pages quote a 1–2 week processing window. Duties and taxes are collected at checkout, and the policy says "No additional duties will be required at time of delivery."
Its refund policy gives 30 days from purchase. UK customers can return items for a refund but can't exchange them. You post the item back at your own expense, by a trackable service, to the returns centre in West Chester, Ohio. Duties aren't refunded, and sale, made-on-demand and manufacturer-direct items are final sale.
Support is by email at help@barstoolsports.com, from 8am to 8pm US Eastern time, seven days a week, with direct messages on X for simple questions. There's no phone line or live chat.
Support Verdict
Three Putt, for a UK buyer. Free delivery from a UK site beats a $29.95 fee, up to two weeks' processing and refund-only returns across the Atlantic. Barstool's 30-day window is longer, though, and it earns credit for seven-day email support and for settling duties at checkout.
Our Pick
Buy Barstool Golf if you listen to Fore Play and want kit for the course: a $70 stretch polo, an $80 quarter-zip, adidas tapered trousers and a '47 snapback. It's also the pick for collared-shirt clubs and for anyone who needs a 3XL hoodie. Our full Barstool Golf review covers the range in more depth.
Buy it knowing the terms. Order your known size, allow up to two weeks before dispatch plus 8–14 business days in transit, and budget $29.95 for delivery plus duties and taxes. Put everything in one order, because the fee is flat.
Buy Three Putt for heavyweight golf streetwear: graphic tees from £24.99, long-sleeve tees, 400gsm sweatshirts and 430gsm hoodies, priced in pounds and delivered free in the UK.
Plenty of golfers will sensibly own both: a Barstool polo for the round and a Three Putt hoodie for the drive home. For more brands from across the Atlantic, see our guide to American golf brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Three Putt vs Barstool Golf
Is Three Putt a good alternative to Barstool Golf?
For tees, sweatshirts and hoodies, yes. Three Putt's are in heavier cotton, priced in pounds and delivered free in the UK, while a single Barstool tee costs about £50 once its $29.95 delivery fee is added. For quarter-zips, golf trousers or hats, no: Three Putt doesn't make them, and Barstool does.
Which brand is better on the course?
Barstool Golf. Its in-house polos are 86% polyester and 14% spandex, its quarter-zips are poly-spandex too, and the adidas capsule adds sweat-wicking Butterspun polos and water-repellent tapered trousers. Three Putt's cotton tees and hoodies suit casual rounds and the range.
How do the fits differ?
Barstool's fit varies by item: buyers say the Blade Collar polo runs marginally small, and Barstool suggests sizing up in the slim Clubhouse Premium Crewneck. Its apparel runs S–3XL. Three Putt’s tees are relaxed and its hoodies oversized with dropped shoulders (both S–2XL). Barstool can't exchange a UK order, so check sizes first.
Which brand is better value for UK golfers?
For tees, sweatshirts and hoodies, Three Putt. Prices are close before delivery, but Barstool then adds $29.95 per order, and Three Putt's 430gsm hoodies are heavier than Barstool's printed fleece. For polos, Barstool's $70 (about £54) is fair for a stretch performance polo, with shipping, duties and taxes on top.
Does Barstool Golf ship to the UK?
Yes. UK delivery is a flat $29.95 (about £23) by FedEx International and takes 8–14 business days once the order leaves the warehouse. Allow up to two weeks of processing before that. Duties and taxes are calculated and collected at checkout, so nothing more should be due on delivery.
Are Barstool Golf and Three Putt sustainable?
Neither makes sustainability claims for its own clothing. Barstool's adidas trousers and anorak use recycled polyester, but those are adidas pieces. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims; its tees are 100% cotton. If sustainability is your priority, neither brand is built around it.
Does either brand make women's golf clothing?
Not really. In October 2026 Barstool's golf range had no women's clothing line, just two women's dad hats, plus two kids' items. Three Putt has no women's-specific range either, so golfers who want a women's cut will need a brand with a dedicated women's golf line.
