Honest Barstool Golf Clothing Review 2026 | Three Putt Golf

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

The loudest media brand in golf sells clothes now. Half merch, half performance, all Fore Play.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Verdict: 7.2/10

Barstool Golf is the golf apparel arm of Barstool Sports, built around the Fore Play podcast and sold through the main Barstool store. We liked the $70 performance polos, an adidas Ultimate365 capsule that now includes golf trousers, hats from proper makers like '47, and duties collected at UK checkout.

It's bigger than you'd think: 159 golf products, and since March 2026 an actual PGA Tour winner on the podcast, with Kevin Kisner joining Fore Play full-time.

Where it falls short: it's still half merch (hats and tees make up roughly half the golf range), there are no shorts and no women's golf line, orders can take up to two weeks to leave the warehouse, and UK returns are refund-only at your own cost to Ohio.

This brand is best for Fore Play listeners who want to wear the joke, and get a surprisingly decent polo while they're at it.

Key Features

  • Signature tech/fabric: 86% polyester / 14% spandex "Blade Collar" performance polos, an adidas Ultimate365 capsule, and '47-made headwear
  • Design language: Podcast-culture golf: Golf Dad prints, cocktail jokes, event capsules and print-heavy drops
  • Fit profile: Officially varies by product, with per-item fit guides; polo reviews say it runs marginally small
  • Range depth: Polos, tees, crews, hoodies, quarter-zips, adidas trousers and anorak, training aids and a serious hat wall; no shorts, no women's line

Pros

  • $70 performance polos that verified buyers rate 4.5/5: real apparel, not just merch
  • Partner muscle no startup can match: adidas, '47 and SKLZ
  • A media flywheel: a 1M-follower Fore Play Instagram, the Barstool Classic amateur tour and the Barstool Golf Time app with merch rewards
  • Duties collected at UK checkout, so no surprise courier bills

Cons

  • Roughly half the range is hats and tees, and there are no golf shorts
  • No women's golf line at all
  • Orders can take up to two weeks to dispatch, then 8–14 business days by FedEx to the UK
  • UK returns are refund-only, posted at your cost to Ohio, with duties non-refundable

Barstool Golf Pricing

Barstool prices its golf line like accessible fan gear with a performance tier: $32–$35 tees, a flat $70 across most in-house polos, $45–$70 crews, $50–$75 hoodies and $80–$115 for the adidas capsule. The store charges a UK visitor in dollars, and UK delivery is a flat $29.95 by FedEx International, with duties calculated and collected at checkout.

Category Entry Typical Premium
Polos/Tees £25 £54 £66
Midlayers £35 £54–£62 £77
Trousers/Shorts £73 £73 £73
Outerwear £88 £88 £88
Caps £27 £27–£29 £29

Approximate GBP equivalents at about $1.30 to the pound, before the $29.95 (about £23) shipping fee and the duties collected at checkout: tees $32–$35, in-house polos $70, adidas Ultimate365 polo $80, adidas Ultimate365+ Butterspun polo $85, crews $45–$70, hoodies $50–$75, quarter-zips $80, adidas hoodie $100, adidas Tapered Golf Pants $95, adidas anorak $115, hats $35–$38. The $140 adidas Samba golf shoes are sold through adidas US, not the Barstool store.

Comparison:

  • Barstool Golf vs Three Putt: Both sell golf culture, not just golf clothes. Barstool's $70 polos come with a podcast attached and up to a fortnight of processing before FedEx. Three Putt is a UK brand with tees from £23.99, heavyweight hoodies under £52 and free UK delivery. Wear the joke, or wear the identity.
  • Barstool Golf vs Sunday Swagger: America's two loud-fun options at similar money ($70 vs $64 polos). Sunday Swagger has deeper prints, family matching and 4XL sizing but doesn't ship here; Barstool does, with duties handled at checkout.
  • Barstool Golf vs William Murray Golf: Golf's two media-made clothing brands: one built on a podcast, the other on Bill Murray and theCHIVE. Barstool's $70 polos undercut William Murray's $85, and Barstool collects UK duties at checkout, while William Murray takes no international returns at all.
  • Barstool Golf vs B.Draddy: The internet versus the establishment. B.Draddy dressed the 2026 Presidents Cup teams in Peruvian Pima; Barstool dresses the group chat in Golf Dad prints. Each buyer thinks the other is mad.

Promos/Outlet Notes: A permanent sale section runs deep-but-sparse markdowns (some hats drop from $38 to $22–$25), drops are announced by text list, a Shirt of the Month Club runs on subscription, and GovX offers a military and first-responder discount. Sale and print-on-demand items are final sale, and free shipping over $100 is US-only.

Verdict: 7.4/10

Fair pricing for partner-made, media-backed gear: $70 polos undercut most hype golfwear, and checkout-collected duties spare UK buyers a doorstep bill. The value dips once the $29.95 shipping and the final-sale rules come into it.

Barstool Golf Fit & Sizing (Usability)

Barstool is refreshingly honest about fit: "product sizing sometimes varies throughout all our products," which is why every item carries its own fit guide. Verified-buyer data on the core polo says it runs marginally small, and garments are designed to settle to true size after the first wash.

Notes:

  • Polos/Tees: The Blade Collar polo runs slightly trim; buyers average "marginally runs small", with the stretch compensating. Tees are standard casual cuts.
  • Midlayers: Crews and hoodies run relaxed; the adidas Ultimate365 pieces follow adidas's athletic sizing.
  • Trousers/Shorts: The adidas Ultimate365 Tapered Golf Pants come in 30–44 waists. There are no shorts.
  • Outerwear: The adidas anorak is a regular fit.
  • Heat/Humidity: The 86/14 performance polos breathe fine; the cotton-faced printed hoodies are clubhouse wear in summer.
  • Size Charts: Per-product size and fit guides with wash guidance: decent, if fragmented.

Accessibility/Range:

  • Apparel runs S–3XL; no XS, no 4XL+, and hats are one size.
  • No women's golf line: just two women's dad hats.
  • Two kids' items, and the adidas Sambas in sizes 4–15, are the only other breadth.

Verdict: 7.0/10

Honest per-product fit guidance and free US size exchanges soften the "sizing varies" reality, but UK buyers can't exchange at all, so read the fit notes twice.

Barstool Golf Core Product Categories

Polos & Tees

The surprise of the range: fifteen $70 performance polos (Blade Collar III, Golf Dad prints, Pin Flag, Weaver Stripe) in an 86% polyester / 14% spandex stretch knit with branded buttons. Verified buyers score the flagship 4.5/5, though from just 12 reviews. The adidas Ultimate365 polos top the tier at $80–$85. Tees ($32–$35) carry the jokes: Tiger Swing, "Can't Drink All Day" and Golf Dad Bags.

Verdict: 7.8/10

Midlayers (crews/hoodies/half-zips)

Crews at $45–$70 (The Clubhouse Premium, in 96/4 poly-spandex, is the pick), printed hoodies at $50–$65, performance Layering hoodies at $75, Golf Dad performance quarter-zips at $80 and the adidas Ultimate365 Elevated hoodie at $100. Note the split: performance pieces are poly-stretch, while the printed hoodies are cotton-faced loungewear.

Verdict: 7.3/10

Trousers/Shorts

Finally a start: the adidas Ultimate365 Tapered Golf Pants ($95, recycled fabric with UPF) arrived in September 2026, alongside a final-sale UNRL performance pant. There's still no golf shorts programme, so Barstool remains an outfit-completer rather than an outfitter.

Verdict: 6.0/10

Outerwear

One piece: the Barstool Golf x adidas Ultimate365 Anorak at $115. It's a legitimate adidas performance shell with podcast branding, but a single jacket isn't a category, and there's no rain gear beyond it. The $140 adidas Samba golf shoes (the WM Phoenix Open "Birdie Boots") are the collector item, but they're sold through adidas US rather than the Barstool store.

Verdict: 6.8/10

Caps & Accessories

The heart of the operation: 31 hat styles at $35–$38, nearly half of them made by '47, some in '47's cooling Brrr fabric. Putter covers ($45), driver headcovers ($50), flags and drinkware complete the fan-cave ecosystem, and a new SKLZ x Barstool Golf range adds training aids at $25–$100.

Verdict: 8.2/10

Barstool Golf Materials & Tech (Construction, Sustainability)

Barstool's golf line splits cleanly in two: genuine performance fabric where it matters (polos, quarter-zips, the adidas capsule) and cotton merch where it doesn't. There are no proprietary fabric platforms; the tech comes from partners, which is arguably the smart play.

Backend (manufacturing & standards):

  • Country of manufacture isn't stated on any product page.
  • No sustainability claims for Barstool's own pieces; the adidas capsule carries adidas's recycled-content claims.
  • Some items are print-on-demand ("Print to Order"), ship direct from the manufacturer and are final sale.
  • Headwear is largely made by '47 and the performance capsule by adidas: established supply chains behind the memes.

Application (on-garment features):

  • Polos: 86% polyester / 14% spandex "lightweight performance fabric blend" with custom prints and branded buttons.
  • adidas capsule: Ultimate365 polos, hoodie, anorak and tapered trousers (recycled fabric, UPF), adidas's proven golf franchise with Barstool branding.
  • Hoodies: printed hoodies are cotton-rich (70/30 and 80/20 cotton/poly with a cotton face); the Layering Performance hoodies are 90/10 poly-spandex.
  • Hats: '47 HITCH snapbacks, rope hats and Brrr cooling fabric on select models.
  • Care labels warn against ironing the prints.

Verdict: 6.9/10

Borrowed tech done sensibly (adidas and '47 make better gear than most media brands could), but no transparency and no sustainability story of its own keep the score honest.

Barstool Golf Customer Support

Barstool runs long-hours email support and a slick US exchange portal, then leaves international buyers with the bare minimum. The processing times are the real catch.

Channels & Hours

  • Email help@barstoolsports.com, staffed 8am–8pm Eastern, seven days a week.
  • X/Twitter DMs to @barstoolstore for quick questions; no phone and no live chat.
  • A self-service returns portal for US customers.

Policies

  • 30-day window: US customers get free exchanges and free returns for store credit; refunds to the original payment cost $7.50.
  • UK buyers get refund-only (no international exchanges) and pay their own tracked postage back to Ohio, with duties non-refundable.
  • Sale, print-on-demand and ships-direct items are final sale; damaged items must be reported with photos within 7 days.
  • No price adjustments after purchase.

Self-Serve

  • The store's own pages disagree on processing: the orders page says 1–2 weeks, the shipping policy 6–10 business days. US delivery then takes 3–7 days, and UK delivery 8–14 business days by FedEx.
  • UK shipping is a flat $29.95, with duties and taxes calculated and collected at checkout.
  • In-person alternatives are US-only: PGA TOUR Superstore, Dick's and Scheels.

Verdict: 6.4/10

Seven-day email support and checkout-collected duties are genuine positives, but up to two weeks of processing, refund-only UK returns and a $7.50 domestic refund fee are drop-culture economics applied to $70 polos.

What Are Barstool Golf's Review Ratings from Review Sites?

(As of October 2026)

  • Trustpilot: Effectively unrated: 2.9/5 from just two reviews on an unclaimed Barstool Sports profile. Small-sample aggregators disagree, so there's no robust independent verdict.
  • On-site (verified buyers): The Blade Collar Polo III holds 4.5/5 from 12 reviews: "Great quality, fit, and style" and "very stretchy, soft material that fits true to size", with one buyer saying it fit "like a kids large". Positive, but thin volume for a brand this loud.
  • Media and Reach: The Fore Play machine is the reputation: 1M Instagram followers, twice-weekly episodes, and PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner joining full-time in March 2026. Sports Illustrated covered the adidas Samba collab, and PGATour.com covered Fore Play taking over a Korn Ferry Tour event.
  • Ecosystem: The Barstool Classic amateur tour is in its eighth season (ten qualifiers, a Grayhawk final in November, a $20,000 grand prize), and the Barstool Golf Time booking app turns tee times into merch reward points.

Synthesis:

The apparel reviews that exist are good; there just aren't many of them, because people buy this gear as fandom first and clothing second. Barstool's golf reputation is really Fore Play's reputation: enormous, engaged, and now carrying a genuine tour pedigree in Kisner.

Is Barstool Golf a Good Golf Brand?

Yes, with an asterisk. Barstool Golf is a good apparel line for exactly its audience: the $70 performance polos are better than merch has any right to be, the hats come from proper makers, and the adidas partnership gives it clout no startup can buy. But it's an outfit-completer, not an outfitter: no shorts, no women's line, slow processing and refund-only UK returns. If you want golf-culture clothing from a UK brand with free UK delivery, Three Putt's golf tees and heavyweight hoodies do the identity without the import friction. Frequently Asked Questions About Barstool Golf

Who owns Barstool Sports?

Founder Dave Portnoy. PENN Entertainment paid roughly $551 million for Barstool between 2020 and 2023, then sold it back to Portnoy in August 2023 for $1 as it pivoted to ESPN BET, taking a write-off of around $800 million. PENN keeps the right to half the proceeds if Portnoy ever sells.

What is Fore Play?

Barstool's golf podcast and media franchise, launched in early 2017 and fronted by Riggs, Trent and Frankie (with Lurch historically). Four-time PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner joined as a full-time host in March 2026. The apparel line is built around it: "by the common golfer, for the common golfer."

Does Barstool make real golf clothes or just merch?

Both. Roughly half the 159-product golf range is hats and tees, but there's a genuine performance layer: $70 polos in 86/14 poly-spandex, $80 quarter-zips, and an adidas Ultimate365 capsule ($80–$115) that now includes tapered golf trousers. What's still missing is shorts and a women's line.

Does the Barstool store ship to the UK?

Yes. UK delivery is a flat $29.95 by FedEx International and takes 8–14 business days after dispatch, with duties and taxes calculated and collected at checkout, so nothing extra is owed on delivery. Allow for processing of up to two weeks before it ships.

How does Barstool Golf sizing run?

Officially it "varies throughout all our products", so check each item's fit guide. Verified polo reviews say it runs marginally small, garments are cut to settle true to size after the first wash, and the range runs S–3XL with no women's golf line.

Is Barstool golf gear good quality?

The evidence is positive but thin: the flagship polo scores 4.5/5 from 12 verified buyers, and the hats and adidas pieces come from '47 and adidas, proper manufacturers. There's no robust independent review base, so you're partly trusting the podcast.

What is Barstool's return policy?

30 days. US customers get free exchanges and free store-credit returns, with a $7.50 fee for card refunds. UK customers get refund-only: you pay tracked postage back to Ohio, duties aren't refunded, and sale or print-on-demand items are final sale.

What is Barstool Golf Time?

Barstool's free tee-time booking app, launched in 2021 with Supreme Golf, covering courses in the US, Canada and 41 other countries. Bookings earn rewards you can spend on Barstool golf merch, so playing more golf buys you more hats.
