Honest Castore Golf Clothing Review 2026 | Three Putt Golf

Updated on: October 1, 2026 • ~11 min read

Author: Graeme

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

Manchester's premium sportswear brand on the golf course. Named fabric tech, prices in pounds and a LIV team in the kit.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Verdict: 7.6/10

Castore is the Manchester-based premium sportswear brand started by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, and its golf line is a tidy, athletic men's range sold in pounds. We liked the £48 Essential polo, the £65 ProTek trousers, the LVS venting system and free 28-day UK returns.

It also dresses LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club, and the autumn 2026 drop adds a seamless knitted quarter-zip and new LVS jackets. A "Buy 2 Save 30%" offer on core pieces and a deep outlet take the edge off the list prices.

Where it falls short for UK golfers: there's no women's golf clothing on the site right now, the jackets are water-resistant rather than waterproof, there are no exchanges, and the golf range stops at 2XL.

This brand is best for UK golfers who want clean, athletic performance kit from a British company, bought in pounds with free returns, and who don't mind waiting for an offer.

Key Features

  • Signature tech/fabric: AerTek moisture-wicking, ProTek water-repellent finishes, OTek odour protection on some polos, and the LVS (Layered Ventilation System) layering range
  • Design language: Clean, athletic and quiet: chest logo, wordmark on the upper back, navy, cream and brown palettes, plus a brighter Castore x Paul Smith capsule
  • Fit profile: Mostly labelled regular fit, with slim-fit trousers and an athletic-fit LVS jacket; tailored enough that sizing up suits golfers who like room
  • Range depth: Men's polos, tees, quarter-zips, gilets, hoodies, trousers, shorts and jackets, a Majesticks Golf Club line and a small cap and sock edit; no women's golf clothing, shoes or gloves

Pros

  • A British company selling in pounds from a UK warehouse: no duties, £3.95 delivery and free delivery over £60
  • Free returns on all orders within 28 days
  • Fair core prices for named performance fabrics: £48 polos and £65 golf trousers
  • Frequent offers: Buy 2 Save 30% on core golf pieces and a large outlet

Cons

  • No women's golf clothing on castore.com right now
  • Jackets are water-resistant for light drizzle, not waterproof
  • No exchanges: you return for a refund and reorder
  • Golf sizes stop at 2XL, and there are no shoes, gloves or headcovers

Castore Golf Pricing

Castore shows a UK visitor prices in pounds, and its golf line sits in the upper-middle of the market. UK delivery is £3.95, free over £60, with no duties because orders ship from Castore's UK warehouse.

Category Entry Typical Premium
Polos/Tees £42 £48–£60 £65
Midlayers £65 £70–£78 £105
Trousers/Shorts £50 £65–£78 £90
Outerwear £130 £140 £165
Caps £22 £36 £36

Full prices on castore.com: Flex tee £42, Golf Essential polo £48, Pique Stripe, LVS and Elevated Lifestyle polos £60, Majesticks Shoulder Graphic polo £65; Flex half-zip gilet £65, Flex quarter-zip £70, LVS quarter-zip £78, Majesticks quarter-zip, hoodie and gilet £75, Knitted quarter-zip £95, LVS Hybrid gilet £105; Golf Shorts £50, Golf Trousers £65 (regular fit) or £78 (slim fit with UPF), Elevated Lifestyle slim trousers £90; Majesticks Hybrid Jacket £130, LVS jackets £140, x Paul Smith Lightweight Jacket £165 (on sale at £115); Core Cap £22, x Paul Smith Technical Cap £36.

Comparison:

  • Castore vs Three Putt: Two UK brands doing different jobs. Castore is athletic on-course kit: £48 polos, £65 trousers and LVS layers. Three Putt sells golf-culture tees from £23.99, sweatshirts at £34.99–£49.99 and heavyweight hoodies at £45.99–£51.99, with free UK delivery. Castore to play in, Three Putt for everything around the round.
  • Castore vs Galvin Green: If rain is the priority, Galvin Green is the weather specialist, built around Gore-Tex shells, while Castore's ProTek jackets are for light drizzle. Castore wins on everyday polos and trousers.
  • Castore vs J.Lindeberg: Both do tailored, athletic golfwear. J.Lindeberg is the Swedish fashion label with louder styling and a longer golf pedigree; Castore is quieter and built around named fabric tech.
  • Castore vs Lyle & Scott: The other British option. Lyle & Scott trades on Scottish heritage and the golden eagle; Castore on modern stretch fabrics and venting.

Promos/Outlet Notes: Thirteen core golf pieces carry a "Buy 2 Save 30%" badge, including the Essential polo, Golf Trousers and Golf Shorts. The outlet holds older golf lines at roughly 30–50% off: the Golf Club Classic quarter-zip is £45 (was £65) and the LVS Woven Jacket £60 (was £120). Newsletter sign-ups get 15% off a first order, and there are student, graduate and key-worker discounts. Klarna is available at checkout.

Verdict: 7.8/10

Fair full prices for named performance fabrics, no duties and £3.95 delivery make Castore one of the easiest premium golf brands for a UK golfer to buy. With offers this frequent, paying full price is mostly optional.

Castore Golf Fit & Sizing (Usability)

Castore labels most golf pieces "regular fit", with slim-fit versions of the £78 trousers, an athletic-fit LVS jacket and slim Elevated Lifestyle pieces. Golf Monthly found the cut on the Golf Club Classic quarter-zip tailored enough to suggest going up a size if you prefer room.

Notes:

  • Polos/Tees: The Essential polo is regular fit with side slits; its 93% polyester, 7% elastane fabric stretches rather than drapes.
  • Midlayers: Flex quarter-zips and gilets are regular fit with raglan sleeves; the Elevated Lifestyle quarter-zip is slim.
  • Trousers/Shorts: The £65 Golf Trousers are regular fit, the £78 pairs slim. Waists run 28–38 in Regular and Long legs; shorts run 28–38.
  • Outerwear: The LVS Jacket is a soft shell cut to layer over a polo. The brown version is athletic fit, so size up over a thick midlayer.
  • Heat/Humidity: AerTek wicking, LVS mesh venting and UPF on some pieces suit warm rounds.
  • Size Charts: Every product page has a chart; XS fits a 36–38in chest, 2XL a 46–48in chest.

Accessibility/Range:

  • Golf tops run XS–2XL, with no 3XL in the current golf line.
  • No women's golf clothing on castore.com right now: the only golf items listed for women are a unisex x Paul Smith cap and socks.
  • No junior golf range in stock, and no golf shoes or gloves.

Verdict: 7.3/10

Clear fit labels and Regular and Long trouser legs help, but XS–2XL only and no women's golf range narrow who Castore can dress.

Castore Golf Core Product Categories

Polos & Tees

The £48 Golf Essential polo is the workhorse: AerTek wicking, OTek odour protection on some colourways and six colours. Above it sit £60 Pique Stripe, LVS engineered-knit and Elevated Lifestyle polos, and the £65 Majesticks Shoulder Graphic polo. Flex tees at £42 cover the casual end. Note the wordmark on the upper back, which Golf Monthly disliked on an earlier Castore layer.

Verdict: 7.9/10

Midlayers (crews/hoodies/half-zips)

The deepest category. Flex quarter-zips cost £70 (with UPF), LVS quarter-zips with mesh venting £78, and the new seamless Knitted quarter-zip £95. Gilets run from the £65 Flex half-zip to the £105 LVS Hybrid, and the Majesticks quarter-zip, hoodie and gilet are £75 each. The Golf Club Classic quarter-zip that Golf Monthly called "a simple, sleek and versatile piece" is now in the outlet at £45.

Verdict: 8.0/10

Trousers/Shorts

A long way from the £150 trousers Castore launched with in 2019. The £65 Golf Trousers (92% polyester, 8% elastane) have a ProTek water-repellent finish, a gripper waistband, a scorecard pocket and a media pocket, in Regular and Long legs. The slim £78 versions add UPF, and the £50 Golf Shorts share the spec. The £90 Elevated Lifestyle slim trousers are more clubhouse than course.

Verdict: 7.8/10

Outerwear

The honest gap. The £140 LVS Jacket is a stretch soft shell with ProTek, which Castore says helps against "light drizzle". The £140 LVS Athletic Fit Jacket and £130 Majesticks Hybrid Jacket take the same water-resistant approach. There's no seam-sealed waterproof golf jacket or over-trouser in the current range, so a proper rain suit has to come from elsewhere.

Verdict: 6.8/10

Caps & Accessories

Thin. The golf collection carries one cap, the £36 Castore x Paul Smith Technical Cap, plus £24 two-packs of Paul Smith socks. Castore's general £22 Core Cap will do the job, but there are no gloves, headcovers or towels.

Verdict: 6.3/10

Castore Golf Materials & Tech (Construction, Sustainability)

Castore's strength is named, consistent fabric tech across sports, and the golf range uses it well. Transparency is the weak spot.

Backend (manufacturing & standards):

  • A Manchester-based company that Tom and Phil Beahon started from their mother's kitchen table in Liverpool, by Castore's own account.
  • Castore says it partnered early on with specialist factories in Portugal; golf product pages don't state a country of manufacture.
  • No recycled-content or sustainability claims on current golf product pages, though a Modern Slavery Statement is published.
  • UK golf wholesale runs through Specialist Sports, under a multi-year deal that began with spring/summer 2026.

Application (on-garment features):

  • AerTek: moisture-wicking polos; the Essential polo is 93% polyester, 7% elastane.
  • OTek: an odour-protection finish on some Essential polo colourways.
  • ProTek: a water-repellent finish on trousers, shorts, gilets, quarter-zips and jackets.
  • LVS (Layered Ventilation System): mesh vents and stretch vent tape across polos, quarter-zips, gilets and jackets.
  • UPF: sun protection on the slim £78 trousers and the Flex quarter-zips.
  • Seamless knit: the new viscose and polyamide Knitted quarter-zip, with mesh panels in sweat zones.

Verdict: 7.6/10

Named, sensible fabric tech that suits UK golf, from wicking polos to vented layers. Silence on manufacturing origin and sustainability keeps the score in check.

Castore Golf Customer Support

Buying from Castore is a domestic transaction, which is a big advantage over imported brands. Service is form-based, though, and the no-exchanges rule is a real annoyance for a brand selling sized clothing.

Channels & Hours

  • A help centre and an online contact form covering orders, issues, discount codes and product questions.
  • We couldn't find a published phone number or opening hours.
  • Castore runs around 25 shops across the UK, Ireland and Rotterdam, but the site doesn't say which carry golf.

Policies

  • Free returns on all orders within 28 days of receipt, unused with tags attached.
  • No exchanges: return for a refund and reorder the right size.
  • Refunds start within 7 business days of your return arriving, then can take up to 7 more to show.
  • Faulty items are reported through a form with your order number and a photo.

Self-Serve

  • UK delivery is by Evri: 2–4 working days for £3.95 (free over £60), or next day for £5.50 (free over £150) if you order by 8pm on a weekday.
  • Pick-up points are available on the mainland; Northern Ireland gets standard delivery only.
  • Orders ship from Castore's UK warehouse, so there are no duties or customs forms.

Verdict: 7.8/10

Free returns, £3.95 delivery and a fully domestic checkout are exactly what UK golfers want. Form-only contact and no exchanges stop it scoring higher.

What Are Castore Golf's Review Ratings from Review Sites?

(As of October 2026)

  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 from 10,672 reviews, covering all of Castore rather than just golf. 72% are five-star but 20% are one-star. Praise centres on quick, helpful service; the mixed feedback is mostly about orders and delivery.
  • On-site: Core golf pieces such as the Essential polo and Golf Trousers show 4.9–5 star averages, though review counts aren't shown on the collection page.
  • Editorial: Golf Monthly's 2024 review rated the Golf Club Classic quarter-zip a fairly priced, versatile layer, with one complaint: the back branding.
  • Credibility & Reach: LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club has worn Castore since 2025 under a multi-year deal: in 2026, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Sam Horsfield and Laurie Canter. Castore's Instagram has around 261K followers.

Synthesis:

Castore's reputation is strong on service and solid on product, and the golf pieces that get reviewed score highly. The tour story is thinner than it once was: Matt Fitzpatrick and Thorbjørn Olesen are no longer the faces of the range, so Majesticks now carries the golf credibility on its own.

Is Castore Golf a Good Golf Brand?

Yes, for men who want straightforward performance golfwear from a British company. The £48 Essential polo and £65 trousers are fair value, the LVS and ProTek fabrics are well thought out, and free 28-day returns with no duties make it low-risk. The gaps are real, though: no women's golf range, no waterproofs, no exchanges and sizes only to 2XL. If you want golf-culture clothing for around the round from a UK brand with free UK delivery, Three Putt's golf tees and heavyweight hoodies are the alternative. Frequently Asked Questions About Castore Golf

Who owns Castore?

Castore is run by its founders, brothers Tom and Phil Beahon. A £145 million round in late 2023, led by The Raine Group with Hanaco Ventures and Felix Capital, valued it at nearly £1 billion, and Andy Murray is a backer. In September 2026, reports said Castore had hired JP Morgan to explore options, including a sale, after approaches from buyers.

Is Castore a British brand, and where is it made?

Yes. Castore is based in Manchester and began on Merseyside, where the Beahon brothers packed early orders at their mother's kitchen table in Liverpool. Its own story says it partnered with specialist factories in Portugal at the start, but current golf product pages don't state a country of manufacture. UK orders ship from its UK warehouse.

Which golfers wear Castore?

LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club wears Castore under a multi-year deal that began in 2025. For 2026 the team is Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Sam Horsfield and Laurie Canter. Matt Fitzpatrick signed in 2022 and won that year's US Open in Castore, but was wearing Greyson by early 2023. Castore's golf pages feature no individual tour players today.

Does Castore deliver free in the UK?

Standard UK delivery is £3.95 by Evri, takes 2–4 working days and is free on orders over £60. Next-day delivery is £5.50 if you order by 8pm, Monday to Friday, and free over £150. Orders ship from Castore's UK warehouse, so there are no duties or customs charges. Northern Ireland gets standard delivery only.

How does Castore golf sizing run?

Most golf pieces are labelled regular fit, with slim-fit £78 trousers, slim Elevated Lifestyle pieces and an athletic-fit LVS jacket. Tops run XS–2XL (2XL fits a 46–48in chest), and trousers come in 28–38 waists with Regular and Long legs. Golf Monthly found the cut tailored enough to suggest sizing up if you like room.

What is Castore's returns policy?

Returns are free on all orders. You have 28 days from receiving your order, and items must be unused with tags attached. There are no exchanges, so you return for a refund and reorder. Refunds start within 7 business days of your parcel arriving, then can take up to 7 more to appear.

Does Castore make women's golf clothing?

Not at the moment. Castore has sold women's golf collections in previous seasons, but castore.com currently lists no women's golf clothing. The only golf items listed for women are a unisex Castore x Paul Smith cap and socks. Women golfers who like the brand's style will need to look elsewhere for now.

Where can I buy Castore golf clothing in the UK?

Castore.com has the full range, including the outlet. Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline carry current pieces such as the Essential polo, while Scottsdale Golf and Function18 list a few older jackets and layers. We couldn't find the brand at American Golf.

Is Castore golf clothing worth it?

For men, mostly yes. The £48 Essential polo and £65 trousers are fair prices for named performance fabrics, and the Buy 2 Save 30% offer and outlet bring them down further. Free 28-day returns make trying sizes low-risk. Skip it if you need waterproofs, women's golf clothing or sizes above 2XL.
