Honest Macade Golf Clothing Review 2026 | Three Putt Golf

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

Scandinavian minimalism meets the golf jogger. Macade is in pro shops all over Britain, but it's Swedish.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict: 8.2/10
Macade Golf is a Stockholm brand, founded in 2019, that made the tapered golf jogger its signature. We liked the clean Scandinavian design, the named fabric platforms (Ridgeweave, TX, Therma, Storm and now HydroCore), and a buying setup UK golfers rarely get from overseas: duties paid, free delivery and free 30-day returns.
The credentials are real. DP World Tour player Ewen Ferguson and 2025 South African Open champion Dylan Naidoo wear it, and Alex Norén signed in 2023. UK golf media rate the Four-Way Stretch Joggers among the most comfortable trousers in golf.
Where it falls short: prices have climbed, to £110 for a polo and £120 for joggers on Macade's own store. Trustpilot sits at 3.8 with slow-refund complaints, no product says where it's made, and waterproofs only arrived in September 2026, at £295 for the jacket.
This brand is best for style-conscious club golfers who want the tour-adjacent Scandi look and are happy paying £100+ for trousers to get it.
Key Features
- Signature tech/fabric: Named platforms: Ridgeweave airflow knits, TX technical stretch, Therma midlayers, Storm wind pieces, Four-Way Stretch bottoms, HydroCore waterproofs, Bridge Merino and cotton-cashmere knits
- Design language: Scandinavian minimalism with a streetwear-adjacent silhouette: clean colours, tonal branding, "Stay on course"
- Fit profile: Regular-fit tops with tapered, cuffed bottoms, the modern-golf silhouette done properly
- Range depth: Full men's and women's lines: polos, knits, outerwear, rainwear, joggers, trousers, shorts, skirts, dresses, caps, belts
Pros
- The golf jogger benchmark: National Club Golfer called them the most comfortable golf trousers its tester had worn
- Real tour credibility: Ewen Ferguson, Alex Norén, LPGA and LET players, and the 2025 South African Open champion
- Duties-paid (DDP) delivery, free UK standard shipping and free 30-day returns with prepaid labels
- A proper women's range (skirts, skorts, dresses and tailored polos), not token pieces
Cons
- Premium pricing that has climbed in 2026: £110 polos, £120 joggers, £170 merino, £295 rain jacket
- Trustpilot sits at 3.8, with complaints about slow refunds and return-label friction
- Waterproofs are brand new (September 2026) and priced at the top of the market
- No country of manufacture on any product page
Macade Golf Pricing
Macade prices as the premium European alternative to US boutique golfwear, and those prices rose in 2026: the joggers are now £120 and the AR Tech polo £110 on Macade's own store. UK visitors are sent to Macade's European store, which charges in pounds with duties included. UK stockists including Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and A Farley often list the same pieces for less (Function18 had the joggers from £99 in October 2026).
| Category | Entry | Typical | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polos/Tees | £70 | £85–£110 | £110+ |
| Midlayers | £120 | £130–£140 | £210 |
| Trousers/Shorts | £95 | £120 | £150 |
| Outerwear | £110 | £170–£180 | £295 |
| Caps | £40 | £40 | £45 |
Macade's own UK prices, October 2026: Crew TR Bomber Shirt £70, Ridgeweave TX Shirt £85, AR Tech Polo and TX Relaxed Shirt £110; Therma Quarter Zip £120, Cashmere Tech Knit Hoodie £130, Therma Hoodie Zip £140, Bridge Merino Quarter Zip £170, Flow Light Knit Hoodie £210; Four-Way Stretch Shorts £95, Joggers and Links Tech Trouser £120, ArcWeave Trouser £150; Therma Vest £110, Storm Wind Shirt £170, Storm Wind Jacket £180, HydroCore Rain Trousers £220 and Rain Jacket £295; caps £40–£45, belts £45–£55, socks £30.
Comparison:
- Macade vs Three Putt: Both chase the modern-golf look from opposite ends. Macade is the £120-jogger premium play with tour ambassadors; Three Putt is a UK golf streetwear brand with tees from £23.99, heavyweight hoodies under £52 and free UK delivery. Aspirational versus attainable.
- Macade vs Galvin Green: Two Swedish brands built for different jobs. Galvin Green made its name keeping golfers dry in GORE-TEX; Macade only added waterproofs in September 2026 and wins on the jogger-led look you can wear off the course.
- Macade vs Sunday Swagger: Chalk and cheese. Sunday Swagger sells $64 party prints that don't ship to Britain; Macade sells £85 minimalist shirts with duties-paid UK delivery and free returns. One is a laugh, the other is a look.
- Macade vs B.Draddy: Two premium philosophies: B.Draddy's heritage Peruvian Pima cotton and country-club classicism against Macade's technical Scandi modernism. Similar money, completely different wardrobe.
Promos/Outlet Notes: Seasonal sales run deep (Summer Sale '26 markdowns were still live in October), and a permanent Archive section clears past seasons. A free Club Macade account gives early access to new collections. For the best price, check UK stockists before buying direct.
Verdict: 7.0/10
Premium money for a premium product, and duties-paid delivery with free returns removes the usual hidden costs of buying from Europe. The 2026 price rises cost it, though: shop the stockists and the sales.
Macade Golf Fit & Sizing (Usability)
Macade's silhouette is the brand: clean regular-fit tops over tapered, elastic-cuffed bottoms. It translates to club golf better than most streetwear-golf hybrids because the tailoring is sharp rather than baggy.
Notes:
- Polos/Tees: Clean regular fit, true to size for most. Product pages give model references (185cm, 96–98cm chest, wearing M).
- Midlayers: Therma zips run athletic with stretch; the knits (Tech Knit, Intarsia, Bridge Merino) fit like premium menswear rather than golf gear.
- Trousers/Shorts: The Four-Way Stretch Joggers are the hero: tapered, cuffed, with a stretch waistband. Golf Monthly praised their "superb flexibility". Links Tech Trousers are the straight-leg alternative. Bottoms come in 30–38 waists.
- Outerwear: Storm wind pieces are cut trim for swinging; the vest layers neatly over knits.
- Heat/Humidity: Ridgeweave (180gsm airflow weave) is the summer pick; no UPF ratings are published.
- Size Charts: Solid per-product charts with model references and back-in-stock alerts.
Accessibility/Range:
- Men's S–XXL and 30–38 waists, with no extended sizing.
- Women's XS–XL across polos, sleeveless tops, knits, joggers, trousers, skirts, skorts, dresses and jackets.
- A minority of Trustpilot reviewers report sizing differences between items, so order one piece first if you're unsure.
Verdict: 8.2/10
The sharpest silhouette in modern golfwear, sized sensibly and documented well, held back by the S–XXL ceiling and occasional batch inconsistency.
Macade Golf Core Product Categories
Polos & Tees
A tiered polo wall: the Crew TR Bomber (£70) and Flight Shirt (£75) at entry, the Ridgeweave TX Shirt (£85) in the middle, and the AR Tech Polo and TX Relaxed Shirt at £110. The Ridgeweave is the summer pick: 65% polyester, 30% rayon and 5% spandex at 180gsm, in an airy, textured knit. Tonal, print-free and deliberately understated: the anti-loud-polo brand.
Verdict: 8.0/10

Midlayers (crews/hoodies/half-zips)
Where the Scandi identity shines: Therma zips (£120–£140), the Cashmere Tech Knit Hoodie (£130; 95% BCI cotton, 5% cashmere), Intarsia knits (£135–£140), the TX Range Hoodie (£160) and the Bridge Merino Quarter Zip (£170). Above those sit a 19-piece men's Cashmere Edit (£130–£170) and a new merino Knit Capsule up to £210. Few golf-native brands go this deep on knitwear.
Verdict: 8.4/10

Trousers/Shorts
The franchise. A Farley bills Macade as the "home of the original golf jogger", and the Four-Way Stretch Joggers (£120) earn the reputation: National Club Golfer's tester called them the most comfortable golf trousers they'd ever worn. Four-Way Stretch Shorts (£95), Links Tech Trousers (£120) and the new cotton-wool ArcWeave Trouser (£150) complete a focused, excellent bottoms range.
Verdict: 8.7/10
Outerwear
The Storm Wind Shirt (£170) and Storm Wind Jacket (£180) handle wind well and look sharp doing it, with the Therma Vest (£110) beneath. The big change is HydroCore, launched in September 2026: a 3-layer Rain Jacket (£295) and Rain Trousers (£220), rated to 20,000mm waterproof and 20,000g/m²/24h breathability with a PFAS-free finish. It finally gives Macade an answer for British rain, at top-tier waterproof prices and with no track record yet.
Verdict: 8.2/10

Caps & Accessories
A tight edit: TX caps at £40–£45, elastic and tour belts at £45–£55, and crew socks at £30. Clean and on-brand, but thin: no gloves, no headcovers, and nothing playful.
Verdict: 7.0/10
Macade Golf Materials & Tech (Construction, Sustainability)
Macade builds its range on named fabric platforms rather than generic "performance fabric" claims, and the pieces reviewers test keep backing them up. The backend is still mostly undisclosed, which matters more at £100+ prices.
Backend (manufacturing & standards):
- Country of manufacture isn't given on product pages.
- The first sustainability claims arrived in 2026: BCI cotton in the Tech Knit Hoodie and a PFAS-free water-repellent finish on HydroCore. No OEKO-TEX, bluesign or recycled-content claims.
- The Stockholm "Macade Clubhouse" (Torsgatan 16) is the global HQ, shop and simulator; US orders ship from a Charleston warehouse.
- Backed since December 2023 by Swedish growth investor eEquity (SEK 65m), with founder Erik Valentin Villadiego still the controlling shareholder. 6EZ Group has been its UK and Ireland distributor since June 2025.
Application (on-garment features):
- Ridgeweave: lightweight airflow weave (65/30/5 polyester-rayon-spandex, 180gsm).
- TX: the technical four-way stretch line across shirts, hoodies and caps.
- Therma: brushed thermal midlayers. Storm: windproof, water-repellent shells.
- HydroCore: 3-layer waterproof, 20,000mm, taped seams on the jacket, YKK AquaGuard zips.
- Four-Way Stretch: the jogger, short and trouser hero fabric.
- Bridge Merino and cotton-cashmere Tech Knit: the natural-fibre premium tier, plus the Cashmere Edit.
Verdict: 8.2/10
Real, differentiated fabric platforms that perform as advertised, docked for no supply-chain transparency at £100+ prices.
Macade Golf Customer Support
On paper, Macade has one of the most customer-friendly international setups in golf: duties included, free shipping and returns, and an actual phone number. In practice, Trustpilot says the refunds can lag the promise.
Channels & Hours
- Email (order@macadegolf.com), phone +46 (0)70 297 19 00 (9am–5pm CET), Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs.
- Named support staff reply to reviews: a small-team feel.
- The Stockholm Clubhouse for in-person service.
Policies
- Free 30-day returns through a prepaid-label portal; items unused with tags, one label per order.
- Returns are processed within 14 working days of arrival, then refunded within 3–5 business days: the slow bit customers complain about.
- Exchanges are for the same item in a different size only, sent once your return has been processed.
- All orders ship DDP: VAT and duties included at checkout, so no surprise charges at the door.
Self-Serve
- Free standard UK delivery in 3–4 days; express is £8, free over £250.
- Orders can't be changed or cancelled once placed.
- Buy from macadegolf.com (UK visitors are sent to eu.macadegolf.com) or a named UK stockist: lookalike ".shop" sites appear in search results and aren't Macade's.
- UK stockists (Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf, A Farley) are the faster route for UK returns.
Verdict: 7.6/10
Duties-paid delivery and free returns are a better deal than most overseas brands offer UK golfers, marked down for the two-to-three-week refund cycle and a narrower exchange policy.
What Are Macade Golf's Review Ratings from Review Sites?
(As of October 2026)
- Trustpilot: 3.8/5 from 78 reviews, with 23% one-star. Praise clusters around premium materials, fit and friendly service; complaints cluster around slow refunds, return-label hassle and occasional sizing differences. The brand replies to every negative review.
- On-site: Per-product review widgets run high on thin volume.
- UK Editorial: National Club Golfer called the Four-Way Stretch Joggers the most comfortable golf trousers its tester had worn (April 2023), and Golf Monthly praised their "superb flexibility" (May 2023).
- Tour and Trade Credibility: Alex Norén signed in 2023 and has his own Players Collection. Ewen Ferguson (DP World Tour), Gabriella Then (LPGA), Harang Lee (LET) and 2025 South African Open winner Dylan Naidoo complete the roster. An Admiral x Macade capsule launched at The Open in 2023, and an Open Script collection marked the 2026 Open at Royal Birkdale. Destination shops at TPC Scottsdale, Te Arai Links, Big Cedar Lodge and Pearl Valley stock it. Instagram: about 192K followers.
Synthesis:
Product sentiment is premium and deserved; operational sentiment is mixed. The pattern in reviews (love the gear, grumble about the refund) is a scaling problem, not a quality problem. Buy through a UK stockist if you want faster delivery and familiar returns.
Is Macade Golf a Good Golf Brand?
Yes, Macade is one of the best modern-golf brands in Europe. The jogger-led silhouette is the category benchmark, the fabric platforms are real, the tour roster is legitimate, and duties-paid delivery with free returns makes it unusually painless to buy from the UK. The trade-offs are prices that rose in 2026, waterproofs with no track record yet, no supply-chain transparency, and refunds that test your patience. If you love the modern look but want it at streetwear prices from a UK brand, Three Putt's heavyweight hoodies and golf tees are the everyday alternative. Is Macade Golf British?
No. It's Swedish, founded in Stockholm in 2019, with its "Macade Clubhouse" HQ and shop on Torsgatan. The confusion is understandable: UK stockists, Scottish ambassador Ewen Ferguson, and Open Championship collections give it a strong British presence.
Do any professional golfers wear Macade?
Yes. Alex Norén signed in 2023 and has his own Players Collection, alongside Ewen Ferguson (DP World Tour), Gabriella Then (LPGA), Harang Lee (LET) and Dylan Naidoo, who won the 2025 South African Open.

Does Macade make waterproof golf clothing?
Yes, since September 2026. The HydroCore Rain Jacket (£295) and Rain Trousers (£220) are 3-layer pieces rated to 20,000mm waterproof, for men and women. Before that, Macade's Storm range was windproof and water-repellent only.
How does Macade sizing run?
Regular-fit tops and tapered bottoms in men's S–XXL and 30–38 waists, generally true to size, though a minority of reviewers report differences between pieces. Product pages carry measurement charts and model references.
What is Macade's return policy?
30 days, with free returns via a prepaid label, for unused items with tags. Returns are processed within 14 working days of arrival and refunded within 3–5 business days. Exchanges are for a different size of the same item, sent once the return is processed.
Does Macade ship to the UK?
