Calvin Klein Golf vs Three Putt: Licensed Course Kit or UK Golf Streetwear

Updated on: October 2, 2026 • ~10 min read

Author: Graeme

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

A licensed fashion-house golf range sold through UK golf shops, against a Leeds streetwear label that sells four heavyweight garments direct. One dresses you for the round, the other for everything around it.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Verdict and Quick Pick

Calvin Klein Golf is a licensed on-course range of polos, layers, trousers and waterproofs, sold through UK golf retailers at mid-market prices. Three Putt is a Leeds golf streetwear brand selling heavyweight tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies direct from £23.99. Pick Calvin Klein Golf for the course, Three Putt for off it.

Best for golf style off the course on a UK budget: Three Putt. Heavyweight tees and hoodies with golf graphics, priced from £23.99 to £54.99 with free UK delivery. It is casual wear, not performance kit, and the range has no collared shirts.

Best for dress-code rounds and British weather: Calvin Klein Golf. Collared polos from about £35, stretch golf trousers and a seam-sealed Feather Dry 15K waterproof, all priced in pounds by UK golf shops. There is no Calvin Klein Golf store, so prices and returns depend on the retailer.

Brand Overview

Three Putt Golf

Three Putt is a UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds. The range is deliberately narrow: tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies.

Each comes in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green. The idea is golf culture you can wear anywhere, not a full on-course wardrobe.

That brings honest limits. The range has no polos, trousers, shorts, outerwear, waterproofs or caps, and no women's-specific line. If your club has a collared-shirt dress code, you will need a polo from elsewhere.

Calvin Klein Golf

Calvin Klein Golf is a licensed line rather than a separate company. PVH owns the Calvin Klein name, and PGB Sports of Cork, Ireland, has been its global master licensee for golf since 2009. PGB designs the men's, women's and junior collections with Calvin Klein's New York team, then sources and distributes them.

PGB describes the goal as "sexy, fashionable, performance golf apparel". In practice that means minimal, clubhouse-friendly kit.

There is no Calvin Klein Golf store: the old calvinkleingolf.com address now redirects to Calvin Klein's US fashion site. American Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf, GolfOnline, County Golf and Next all list it, priced in pounds.

Tour presence is low-key. The headline deal was a two-year partnership as official apparel supplier to the Ricoh Women's British Open, signed in 2014.

Key Features and Fabrics

Three Putt Golf

  • Tees: 100% cotton, 260gsm, relaxed fit, S–3XL, five colourways per design.
  • Long-sleeve tees: 280gsm, 85% cotton / 15% polyester, loose drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL.
  • Sweatshirts: 400gsm cotton crewneck, regular fit, S–2XL.
  • Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton / 44% polyester, oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, four colourways per design.

These are heavyweight casual garments, not technical performance wear. Do not expect moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection.

Calvin Klein Golf

  • Polos: the Uni polo is the everyday basic, in 52% organic cotton, 45% recycled polyester and 3% elastane from the Planet series. The Metro Liquid Touch polo is the technical pick, in 95% polyester and 5% elastane.
  • Tees: the Newport tee and polo use SmartTec, an 88% polyester stretch jersey with anti-bacterial properties and UV30+ protection.
  • Midlayers: the Tour hoodie is a light 51% polyester, 43% viscose and 6% elastane layer., with no hood drawcord or kangaroo pocket to get in the way of a swing.
  • Trousers: the Genius and Impact trousers are 90% polyester and 10% elastane, with four-way stretch and a slim fit. American Golf also sells a classic-fit Classic Tech trouser.
  • Waterproofs: the Feather Dry 15K hooded jacket is rated to 15,000mm waterproof and 15,000g/m² breathable, with sealed seams and waterproof zips. The main UK stockists listed no matching waterproof trousers in autumn 2026.

One garment from each sums up the gap. A Three Putt hoodie is a heavyweight cotton-blend layer for the clubhouse and the drive home. A Calvin Klein Golf Tour hoodie is a light, stretchy layer cut to swing in.

Price Comparison

Category Three Putt Calvin Klein Golf
Tees £23.99–£29.99 £19.99–£29.99
Long-sleeve tees and baselayers £27.99–£34.99 £54.99 for the Torque baselayer
Polos Not in the range £29.99 Metro Liquid Touch; most £35–£60
Sweatshirts and half-zips £37.99–£47.99 sweatshirts £29.99 Newport half-zip; £64.99 Atmos oversized sweatshirt; £89.99 Jupiter half-zip sweater
Hoodies £45.99–£54.99 £44.99 Tour hoodie; £49.99 Planet hoodie
Trousers Not in the range £44.99–£69.99
Waterproofs Not in the range £89.99–£110 for the Feather Dry 15K jacket
Padded jackets Not in the range £119 Vanta puffer; about £130 for the Regent down and Westmoor Tech jackets
Caps and beanies Not in the range £15.99–£24.99

Calvin Klein Golf prices above are UK list prices at American Golf and Function18 in October 2026. With no brand store, each retailer sets its own price. The Feather Dry 15K jacket was £110 at American Golf and £89.99 at Function18, a £20 gap for the same jacket.

Discounting is frequent and varies by stockist. Those stockists price in pounds and sell from UK stock, so there is nothing extra to pay on the doorstep.

On like-for-like pieces the gap is small: tees cost much the same, and the £44.99 Tour hoodie sits just under Three Putt's £45.99–£54.99 hoodies. What differs is what you get: heavyweight cotton and a graphic, or a light performance fabric and a small logo.

Price Verdict

Call it a split decision. Calvin Klein Golf is fair mid-market value for on-course kit, and the Uni polo at about £35 is the sweet spot. Three Putt is better value for off-course layers: its dearest 400gsm sweatshirt, at £47.99, costs less than the £64.99 Atmos sweatshirt. Three Putt also delivers free across the UK, where Calvin Klein Golf's delivery cost depends on the shop.

Fit and Sizing

Three Putt Golf

Three Putt sizes run S–3XL on tees and S–2XL on everything else. Tees have a relaxed fit, long-sleeves a loose drop shoulder, and sweatshirts a regular fit. Hoodies are oversized with a drop shoulder, so size down if you want a closer look.

Calvin Klein Golf

Fit varies by piece, so read each stockist's listing. Function18 labels the Uni, Planet and Newport polos "athletic fit", which is trim through the body. Knitwear, hoodies and the Feather Dry 15K are labelled regular fit. The Genius and Impact trousers are slim fit, and American Golf sells a classic-fit Classic Tech trouser.

Men's tops run S–2XL as standard, with 3XL on only a few styles and XS on a few Planet pieces. Most trouser waists run 30–42 inches, with 29, 31 and 33-inch legs. A women's line exists, but UK shelves carry far less of it than the men's range.

Fit Verdict

Neither brand is built for big and tall golfers, with most pieces stopping at 2XL; Three Putt tees reach 3XL. Choose Calvin Klein Golf for a trim, athletic polo and slim trousers. Choose Three Putt for roomy streetwear shapes.

Style and Versatility

Three Putt Golf

Three Putt is golf streetwear: golf-themed graphics on heavyweight fabric, cut in relaxed and oversized shapes. A hoodie works on a casual range session, at the pub after a round, or as a weekend layer. It is not the right shirt for a members' competition at a traditional club, so check your golf dress code first.

Calvin Klein Golf

Calvin Klein Golf looks like the fashion house it borrows from: monochrome, minimal and quiet. Branding stays small, usually a CK on the chest. The louder pieces are tonal all-over logos on the Avondale polo and prints such as Digital Chaos.

That restraint is why it moves so easily from the 18th green to the bar. A chest-stripe polo under a half-zip suits a members' lounge or a smart-casual office. For off the course, Function18 describes the Atmos oversized sweatshirt as "premium off-course style". It is the range's closest match to a Three Putt sweatshirt, but in a polyester, viscose and elastane blend rather than heavyweight cotton.

Style Verdict

Both brands cross over, in different directions. Calvin Klein Golf moves from the course into the clubhouse and the office with a discreet logo. Three Putt moves from golf culture into everyday streetwear with a graphic. Choose by where you will wear it most, and whether you want people to read your shirt.

Quality, Durability and Sustainability

Three Putt Golf

Three Putt's quality story is weight. Tees are 260gsm cotton, sweatshirts are 400gsm and hoodies are 430gsm. On sustainability, Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.

Calvin Klein Golf

Calvin Klein Golf is solid mid-market quality rather than premium or tour-grade. Its fabrics carry named technologies and real specifications, and the Feather Dry 15K is fully seam-sealed.

Owner feedback is thin. In a 2018 Golf Monthly forum thread, one owner called it "decent enough", while a sceptic doubted it was a proper golf brand.

It has more of a sustainability story than people expect. The Planet series blends organic cotton with recycled polyester across polos, hoodies and joggers. What is missing is sourcing detail: neither stockist pages nor PGB's site say where the clothes are made.

Quality Verdict

Calvin Klein Golf wins on technical fabric: stretch trousers, wicking polos and a properly sealed waterproof, none of which Three Putt makes. Three Putt wins on heavyweight casual fabric at a low price. On sustainability, Calvin Klein Golf has the stronger claim through its Planet series, while Three Putt makes no eco claims at all.

Customer Support and Returns

Three Putt Golf

Delivery is free across the UK. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and note that you pay the return postage. Support is by email.

Calvin Klein Golf

Calvin Klein Golf has no shop or consumer helpline of its own, so your support comes from whoever sold you the clothes. PGB Sports lists a Cork phone number and email address, but orders, sizing questions and returns go through the retailer.

American Golf gives 30 days on online orders, as long as items are unused with labels attached. You can take a return to any of its stores at no cost, or post it back by a tracked service at your own expense. In-store purchases get 14 days. Standard delivery is £2.99, or free over £50, and Click & Collect costs nothing.

Function18 also gives 30 days from receipt. A return label through its portal costs £2.50, and UK customers can swap sizes instantly. UK delivery is free. Clubhouse Golf delivers free to the UK mainland over £30.

Support Verdict

Calvin Klein Golf's big stockists beat Three Putt on returns: 30 days rather than 14, plus store returns at American Golf. You also get face-to-face help in a shop. Three Putt is simpler on delivery, which is free across the UK. With Three Putt, though, help comes by email and you pay to post a return.

Our Pick

Buy Calvin Klein Golf if you want a full on-course wardrobe with a familiar name and quiet styling. The Uni polo covers a dress-code round, the Impact trousers add stretch, and the Feather Dry 15K handles British rain. Compare stockists before you buy, because the same jacket can differ by £20.

Buy Three Putt if you want golf style for everywhere else, with free UK delivery. Heavyweight tees from £23.99 and hoodies under £52 cover the range session and the pub after. A sweatshirt or long-sleeve tee rounds it out. If your club requires a collar, you will still need a polo from elsewhere.

Plenty of golfers will own both. For more labels at every price point, see our guide to golf clothing brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Three Putt vs Calvin Klein Golf

Is Three Putt a good alternative to Calvin Klein Golf?

For off-course style, yes. Three Putt sells heavyweight tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies from £23.99, with free UK delivery. It is not an alternative for a dress-code round, because the range has no polos, trousers or outerwear. For the course itself, Calvin Klein Golf's polos, stretch trousers and waterproof are the stronger buy.

Who makes Calvin Klein Golf?

PGB Sports of Cork, Ireland. It has been Calvin Klein's global master licensee for golf since 2009, and designs the men's, women's and junior collections with Calvin Klein's team in New York. PVH owns the Calvin Klein name. The logos and styling are genuine, but a separate company makes and sells the clothes.

Where can I buy Calvin Klein Golf in the UK?

Through golf retailers, because there is no Calvin Klein Golf shop. American Golf sells it online and in store, and Function18, Clubhouse Golf, GolfOnline, County Golf and Next all list it, priced in pounds. Prices differ by shop: in October 2026 the Feather Dry 15K jacket was £110 at American Golf and £89.99 at Function18.

Which is better on the course?

Calvin Klein Golf, clearly. Its collared polos meet a dress code, its stretch trousers are cut for golf, and the Feather Dry 15K jacket is rated to 15,000mm with sealed seams. Three Putt's tees and hoodies suit a relaxed round at an easy-going club, but offer no performance fabric or weather protection.

Is Three Putt good quality?

Three Putt's quality case rests on fabric weight: 260gsm 100% cotton tees, 400gsm cotton sweatshirts and 430gsm cotton/polyester hoodies. That is substantial for casual wear at £23.99–£54.99. Calvin Klein Golf uses lighter performance fabrics, which suit a golf swing better but make a different kind of garment.

Are Calvin Klein Golf and Three Putt sustainable?

Calvin Klein Golf makes the bigger claim. Its Planet series blends organic cotton with recycled polyester, and the Uni polo is 45% recycled polyester. It does not publish where the clothes are made. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.

Which is better value?

It depends on what you are buying. For on-course kit, Calvin Klein Golf is fair mid-market value, with most polos at £35–£60 and its waterproof jacket from £89.99. For off-course layers, Three Putt is better value, with the whole range between £23.99 and £54.99 and free UK delivery.
