William Murray Golf vs Three Putt: Caddyshack Polos or UK Golf Streetwear?

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

Bill Murray's Caddyshack-inspired polos reach the UK on tough terms, while a Leeds streetwear label sells four cotton garments with free UK delivery. One dresses the round, the other everything around it.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict and Quick Pick
William Murray Golf is the Austin-run brand Bill Murray and his brothers launched in 2016, built on stretch polos with Caddyshack prints. Three Putt is a Leeds golf streetwear brand selling heavyweight cotton tees and hoodies from £23.99. Pick William Murray for the course, if you can live with its UK shipping terms, and Three Putt for everything off it.
Best for golf style off the course, delivered free in the UK: Three Putt. Heavyweight cotton tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies in six golf graphic designs, priced in pounds and topping out at £54.99. It is casual wear, not technical golf kit.
Best for Caddyshack heritage and a full on-course wardrobe: William Murray Golf. The Murray Classic polo costs $85 and most print polos $88, in a stretch fabric that meets a collared-shirt rule. UK orders pay a flat $35.95 shipping fee plus import charges, and they can't be returned.

Brand Overview
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is a UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds. The range is deliberately narrow: tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies.
Each garment comes in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green. The idea is golf culture you can wear anywhere, not a full on-course wardrobe.
The range has no polos, trousers, shorts, outerwear, waterproofs or caps, and no women's-specific line. If your club has a collared-shirt dress code, you will need a polo from elsewhere.
William Murray Golf
William Murray Golf went on sale on 21 September 2016, Bill Murray's birthday. Bill and his brothers started it with Resignation Media, the company behind the humour site theCHIVE. The business trades as W.M. Golf, Inc. from East Austin, Texas.
The heritage is genuine. The brand's about page says the brothers grew up caddying in Chicago's North Suburbs and were all inducted into the Caddie Hall of Fame. Brother Brian Doyle-Murray co-wrote Caddyshack, drawing on those years.
That story runs through a full golf wardrobe for men and women. A Murray Movies collection puts Bushwood CC, Carl Spackler and the gopher on polos, tees, hats and accessories, and the Murray family tartan ties the rest together.
The catch for British golfers is the route. The store shows a UK visitor prices in US dollars, and there's no UK stockist. Bill Murray is a regular at the Alfred Dunhill Links in Scotland, but his clothes take more effort to get here.

Key Features and Fabrics
Three Putt Golf
- Tees: 100% cotton, 260gsm, relaxed fit, S–3XL, five colourways per design.
- Long-sleeve tees: 280gsm, 85% cotton / 15% polyester, loose drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL.
- Sweatshirts: 400gsm cotton crewneck, regular fit, S–2XL.
- Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton / 44% polyester, oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, four colourways per design.
These are heavyweight casual garments, not technical performance wear. Do not expect moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection.
William Murray Golf
- Polos: the Murray Classic polo and the print polos use "ZFG Lite", a 92% polyester and 8% spandex melange jersey. Product pages list four-way stretch, moisture-wicking, wrinkle resistance and sun protection.
- Other polos: performance piqué polos in 100% polyester, and the $92 Executive in a 74% polyester, 17% cotton and 9% spandex blend.
- Tees: the Bushwood CC tee is 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
- Layers: Chip Shot quarter-zip pullovers and hoodies, and the Loop hoodie in a lightweight 92/8 French terry with UPF 50.
- Outerwear: the packable Stow Away jacket is water-resistant, and the Flop Shot jacket and vest are fleece.
- Bottoms and women's: 7-inch and 10-inch shorts, stretch performance trousers and joggers, plus women's polos, polo dresses and skirts.
Nothing in the range is sold as waterproof. The logos are heat-transferred, and the FAQ warns that ironing or high heat can make them come off.

William Murray prices are the full US-dollar list prices on its store in October 2026, converted at about $1.30 to the pound. They exclude the $35.95 shipping fee and import charges, which the William Murray FAQ says "must be fulfilled by the recipient". A Murray Classic polo plus shipping comes to $120.95, about £93, before those charges.
Price Verdict
On the pieces both brands make, Three Putt is much cheaper for a UK buyer. Its tees cost £23.99–£29.99 with free delivery, where a $40 William Murray tee is about £31 before shipping. Its hoodies top out at £54.99, against about £86–£88 for William Murray's lighter performance hoodies. William Murray's polos are fair value for a stretch golf shirt in America. From Britain, every order adds the shipping fee and an import bill, with no route back.
Fit and Sizing
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt tees run S–3XL and everything else S–2XL. Tees have a relaxed fit, long-sleeves a loose drop shoulder and sweatshirts a regular fit. Hoodies are oversized with a drop shoulder, so size down if you want a closer look.
William Murray Golf
William Murray's FAQ says its polos have "a more relaxed fit, but not your grandfather's boxy style". If you're between sizes or like a slimmer fit, it suggests sizing down. Button-downs run slimmer than the polos, so size up if you want them relaxed.
Men's tops run S–3XL and women's XS–XXL, with no 4XL or big-and-tall range. Shorts and trousers come in waist sizes 30–40 with an elastic waistband, and the trousers have a 33-inch inseam. Check each size chart carefully, because international exchanges aren't accepted.
Fit Verdict
William Murray covers more shapes, with women's sizes, waist-sized bottoms and hoodies to 3XL, where Three Putt's hoodies stop at 2XL. Both run tees to 3XL. Three Putt is the safer order from the UK, because a wrong size can go back within 14 days.
Style and Versatility
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is golf streetwear: golf-themed graphics on heavyweight cotton, cut in relaxed and oversized shapes. A Three Putt hoodie works for a casual range session, the pub after a round or a weekend layer. It is not the right top for a members' competition at a traditional club.
William Murray Golf
William Murray is irreverent golf style with a collar. Prints such as Gopherfest and Where's Spackler? nod to Caddyshack, and the Murray tartan turns up on polos, skirts, dresses and cart towels. The Murray Classic and the Executive keep things plainer, with contrast details rather than jokes.
The polos meet a collared-shirt rule. A busy print may still raise eyebrows at a traditional members' club, so check its golf dress code first.
Off the course, the Caddyshack tees, Noonan rope hats and printed button-downs suit a film fan's weekend.
Style Verdict
William Murray is the more complete golf look, and its women's range makes it the pick for couples who want to match. Three Putt is the better fit for everyday streetwear with a golf accent. Wear William Murray for a summer round, and Three Putt for cold mornings, the pub and the drive home.

Quality, Durability and Sustainability
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt's quality story is weight. Tees are 260gsm cotton, sweatshirts are 400gsm and hoodies are 430gsm. On sustainability, Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.
William Murray Golf
William Murray's quality case is its polo fabric. ZFG Lite is a proper stretch-performance jersey, better than a celebrity name might suggest.
Independent evidence is thin, though. Trustpilot held only two reviews in October 2026. The site doesn't disclose a country of manufacture, and the heat-transferred logos need a cold wash and no iron.
On sustainability, William Murray has no sustainability programme, and no recycled-content claims or certifications appear in its product listings.
Neither brand sells waterproofs. The Stow Away jacket is water-resistant, not waterproof, so for wet rounds see our guide to the best waterproof golf clothing.
Quality Verdict
William Murray wins on technical features: stretch, wicking and wrinkle resistance in a collared shirt. Three Putt wins on heavyweight cotton at a low price. Neither makes a real sustainability case, so that part is a draw.
Customer Support and Returns
Three Putt Golf
Delivery is free across the UK. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and note that you pay the return postage. Support is by email.
William Murray Golf
For US customers, the terms are generous. The refund policy allows returns and exchanges within 60 days of delivery for unworn, unwashed items with tags. Final Sale and Cart Barn clearance items are excluded, and $5 is deducted from refunds.
International orders are another matter. The FAQ sets a flat $35.95 shipping fee, warns that delivery may take three to six weeks, and leaves import taxes and duties to the recipient. International returns and exchanges aren't accepted. If an item arrives wrong or faulty, you email the customer team with your order number.
Support is by email, with help@williammurraygolf.com for order questions. Customer care works 8am–5pm Central Time on weekdays, and the FAQ promises a reply within one to two business days.
Support Verdict
For an American golfer, William Murray's 60-day window beats Three Putt's 14 days. For a UK golfer, Three Putt is the easier buy: free delivery, prices in pounds and a way to send things back. A William Murray order from Britain means weeks of waiting, an import bill and no return route.
Our Pick
Buy William Murray Golf if you want Caddyshack heritage on a proper golf polo and accept the import terms. The $85 Murray Classic and the $88 prints use a stretch fabric that meets a collared-shirt rule. The women's line, with dresses, skirts and matching looks, is a real strength. Our full William Murray Golf review covers the range in detail.
Buy Three Putt if you want golf style for everywhere else, delivered free to a UK address. Heavyweight tees from £23.99, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies under £52 cover the walk to the first tee and the pub after. You will still need a polo from elsewhere if your club requires one.
Plenty of golfers would happily own both: a gopher polo bought on a US trip, and a Three Putt hoodie for the drive home. For more US labels, see our guide to American golf brands.

Which is better on the course?
William Murray Golf. Its ZFG Lite polos are 92% polyester and 8% spandex, with four-way stretch and moisture-wicking, and they meet a collared-shirt rule. It also sells golf shorts and performance trousers. Neither brand makes waterproofs. Three Putt's cotton tees and hoodies suit a relaxed round at an easy-going club, but offer no performance fabric.
Is Three Putt good quality?
Three Putt's quality case rests on fabric weight. Tees are 260gsm 100% cotton, sweatshirts are 400gsm cotton and hoodies are 430gsm cotton/polyester. That is substantial for casual wear at £23.99–£54.99. William Murray's polos do a different job, with stretch and wicking, and a Murray Classic costs about £93 with shipping, before import charges.
How do the fits and sizes differ?
William Murray describes its polos as relaxed but not boxy, and suggests sizing down for a slimmer fit. Men's tops run S–3XL, women's XS–XXL, and shorts and trousers come in waists 30–40. Three Putt tees are relaxed in S–3XL, and its hoodies are oversized in S–2XL. Measure carefully for William Murray, because UK orders can't be exchanged.
Which is better off the course?
Three Putt, for most UK golfers. Its range is golf streetwear: heavyweight cotton, relaxed and oversized cuts, and golf graphics, delivered free in the UK. William Murray's Caddyshack tees, rope hats and printed button-downs make good casual wear for film fans. They cost more, though, and come with $35.95 shipping, import charges and no returns from the UK.
Are William Murray Golf and Three Putt sustainable?
Neither makes much of a sustainability case. William Murray has no sustainability programme and no recycled-content claims or certifications in its product listings. Its site doesn't say where the clothes are made. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims; its tees are 100% cotton.
Which is better value for a UK golfer?
Three Putt, on the pieces both brands make. Its whole range sits between £23.99 and £54.99 with free UK delivery, while a William Murray hoodie costs $112–$115, about £86–£88, before $35.95 shipping. William Murray's $85 polo is fair value for a stretch golf shirt, but a UK buyer adds import charges and can't send it back.
