7 Best William Murray Golf Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Exploring the brands golfers turn to when a great Caddyshack story comes with tough UK delivery terms.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Top Picks

  1. Bogey Bros: Best overall for funny polos with a real review base
  2. Breezy Golf: Best for US comedy golf gear with a UK distributor
  3. Three Putt Golf: Best for UK golf streetwear off the course
  4. Fore Bros Clothing: Best for golfwear from British brothers
  5. Barstool Golf: Best for duties paid at checkout
  6. Waggle Golf: Best for playful hats with $9.99 international shipping
  7. Big Wedge Golf: Best for UK creator golfwear played straight

Why People Look Beyond William Murray Golf

UK golfers look beyond William Murray Golf because of the buying terms. International orders pay a flat $35.95 shipping fee, may take three to six weeks, and land with import charges for the recipient to pay. International returns and exchanges aren't accepted, and there is no UK stockist to fall back on.

The brand itself is the real thing. Bill Murray and his brothers launched it in 2016 with Resignation Media, the company behind theCHIVE, after a Bill Murray T-shirt became a best-seller on that site. All six brothers caddied in Chicago's northern suburbs and are in the Caddie Hall of Fame. Brian Doyle-Murray co-wrote Caddyshack drawing on those years, and the business is run from Austin, Texas.

The clothes are better than a celebrity name suggests. Polos use a 92% polyester and 8% spandex "ZFG Lite" stretch, at $85 for the Murray Classic and $88 for most prints. A Murray Movies collection puts Bushwood CC, Carl Spackler, the gopher and Groundhog Day's Phil Connors on polos, tees, hats and accessories. The women's line is deep, with dresses and skirts, and the Murray tartan ties it all together. Our full William Murray Golf review covers the range in detail.

From Britain, the sums change. A Murray Classic plus shipping comes to $120.95, about £93, before import charges, and the store prices in dollars. The FAQ says those charges "must be fulfilled by the recipient", and international orders never qualify for free shipping, even during promotions. With no returns, a wrong size is lost money.

There are smaller gaps too. Nothing in the range is waterproof, Trustpilot held only two reviews in October 2026, and there is no sustainability programme. British golfers know Bill Murray from the Alfred Dunhill Links, where he is in the field again in October 2026. The clothes are harder to reach. Here are seven alternatives, ranked by how much of the fun survives a British checkout.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand

Bogey Bros: Best Overall for Funny Polos with a Real Review Base

Available on: bogeybros.co · Read our full Bogey Bros review

Key Features:

  • Founded in 2020 by brothers-in-law John Koehler and Ryan Rizos, and No. 49 on the 2025 Inc. 5000 with 5,540% three-year growth
  • Polos in 92% polyester and 8% spandex with UPF 50, mostly $69.95 (about £54), sorted into SFW, SFW-ish and NSFW collections
  • The Whale Tail polo held 4.9 from more than 2,100 on-site reviews in October 2026, and the store 4.9 from more than 13,000
  • More than 100 hats, mostly $34.95, plus a women's polo range in XS–XXL

Pros:

  • A real review base: 4.7 from 2,402 Trustpilot reviews in October 2026, against two for William Murray
  • Polos at $69.95 undercut William Murray's $85–$88 before either crosses the Atlantic
  • UK delivery costs £12.95 by UPS, against a flat $35.95 (about £28)
  • Returns are accepted from the UK within 30 days, where William Murray accepts none

Cons:

  • UK orders ship Delivery Duty Unpaid, so any taxes customs charges are paid to the carrier, much as with William Murray
  • Free returns are for US orders only, so UK buyers pay for their own return label
  • No shorts, trousers or dresses, and the women's range is polos only, where William Murray sells dresses and skirts

Verdict:

Bogey Bros is the funny polo you can check before you buy, with thousands of reviews behind it. Its UK terms are kinder too, with cheaper delivery and a route back. The NSFW prints travel less easily into a members' club than a Caddyshack quote, so choose the design with care.

Breezy Golf: Best for US Comedy Golf Gear with a UK Distributor

Available on: breezygolf.com · Read our full Breezy Golf review

Key Features:

  • The apparel brand of Robby Berger's Bob Does Sports golf channel, launched in 2022 with Doing Things Media under the tagline "Have A Day"
  • Most polos cost $89 direct (about £68), in 92% polyester with UPF 50+ sun protection
  • Co-branded collections for THE PLAYERS, the WM Phoenix Open, the U.S. Open and the TOUR Championship
  • Cloud 18 Golf is its official UK distributor, with polos at £65, shorts at £45 and the Gimme hoodie at £75

Pros:

  • Buy in pounds through Cloud 18, with free UK delivery over £50 and 30-day returns
  • A £65 polo delivered free, against about £93 for a Murray Classic with shipping, before import charges
  • Most polos, hoodies and quarter-zips on breezygolf.com run to 5XL, beyond William Murray's 3XL

Cons:

  • No women's line, where William Murray sells dresses, skirts and polos
  • No trousers, and on breezygolf.com the shorts stop at 2XL
  • The humour comes from the channel's in-jokes rather than film heritage

Verdict:

Breezy is the practical answer: comedy golf from an American creator brand that you can buy in pounds and send back within the UK. The missing women's line is the trade, and for a couple shopping together it is a big one.

Three Putt Golf: Best for UK Golf Streetwear off the Course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk · Read our full William Murray vs Three Putt comparison

Key Features:

  • A UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds, selling tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies
  • Six graphic designs across all four streetwear garments: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
  • Tees in 305gsm, 100% cotton with a relaxed fit, S–2XL, £24.99–£30.99, in five colourways per design
  • Oversized drop-shoulder hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), S–2XL, £45.99–£54.99, plus 400gsm cotton crewneck sweatshirts at £37.99–£47.99

Pros:

  • Free UK delivery, against a flat $35.95 (about £28) from William Murray
  • Priced in pounds, with tees from £24.99 against $40 (about £31) for a William Murray tee before shipping
  • A 430gsm hoodie at £45.99–£54.99, where William Murray's hoodies cost $112–$115 (about £86–£88)
  • UK returns are possible within 14 days of delivery, where William Murray takes no international returns

Cons:

  • No performance polos, trousers, outerwear or caps, which is the core of what William Murray sells
  • Cotton streetwear rather than technical kit, with no moisture-wicking, stretch or UPF fabric
  • Returns within 14 days of delivery: email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and you pay the return postage

Verdict:

Three Putt carries the spirit of the thing: a British golf brand with a sense of humour about the game, on cotton tees and heavyweight hoodies with free UK delivery. It sits third because the William Murray buyer usually wants a collared shirt with a gopher on it, and that isn't sold here. Golfers at clubs with a collared-shirt dress code will want a polo rather than a tee.

Fore Bros Clothing: Best for Golfwear from British Brothers

Available on: forebrosclothing.com · Read our full Fore Bros Clothing review

Key Features:

  • Launched in summer 2025 by the Moloney brothers, whose Fore Bros Golf YouTube channel had about 315,000 subscribers in October 2026
  • Designs by freelance designer Dan Freebairn, whose portfolio includes Size?, adidas and Highsnobiety
  • Polos, tees, half zips, hoodies, a windbreaker, rope caps and beanies, priced in pounds
  • Free UK delivery over £50, with orders dispatched within 24 hours on working days

Pros:

  • The brothers-and-golf story relocated to Britain, with humour in the designs and a UK store
  • Polos at £45–£50 full price, against about £93 for a Murray Classic once shipping is added
  • Dispatch within a working day, against William Murray's three-to-six-week international window
  • Rope caps at £35 cover the hat brief without customs

Cons:

  • No trousers, shorts or women's line, where William Murray sells all three
  • Returns run for 14 days with no exchanges, and sale items can't be returned
  • A young brand, launched in summer 2025, with a far smaller range than William Murray's ten years of designs

Verdict:

Fore Bros is the sibling story made in Britain, polos included, at prices that stay sensible because there is no delivery from America. The missing bottoms and the short returns window are the growing pains of a young brand.

Barstool Golf: Best for Duties Paid at Checkout

Available on: store.barstoolsports.com · Read our full Barstool Golf review

Key Features:

  • The golf apparel arm of Barstool Sports, built around the Fore Play podcast
  • Founder Dave Portnoy bought Barstool back from PENN Entertainment in August 2023
  • More than 150 golf products in October 2026, including $70 performance polos, $32–$35 tees, hoodies, quarter-zips and '47 hats
  • An adidas Ultimate365 capsule that includes $95 tapered golf trousers

Pros:

  • Duties and taxes are collected at checkout, so nothing is owed on delivery, unlike William Murray's recipient-pays model
  • UK delivery is a flat $29.95 (about £23), against William Murray's $35.95
  • $70 polos in 86% polyester and 14% spandex undercut William Murray's $85
  • Media-brand golf humour, with PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner on Fore Play full-time since March 2026

Cons:

  • Orders can take up to two weeks to leave the warehouse, then 8–14 business days with FedEx
  • UK returns are refund-only, posted at your cost to Ohio, with duties non-refundable
  • No women's golf line and no shorts

Verdict:

Barstool is the transatlantic option that behaves like a big retailer, with duty settled at checkout and no doorstep bill. Its returns are limited, but at least a refund route exists, which William Murray doesn't offer UK buyers. Order a size you already know and most of the import friction disappears.

Waggle Golf: Best for Playful Hats with $9.99 International Shipping

Available on: getyourwaggleon.com · Read our full Waggle Golf review

Key Features:

  • Started in 2018 by Travis Baker in his Minnesota basement, full time from 2021, with its headquarters, warehouse and store in Blaine, Minnesota
  • Hats are its biggest category: snapbacks, corduroy brims, visors, beanies and $59 Repel hats
  • The Wingman Hat costs $35 (about £27), and most polos, including the High Roller, cost $69 (about £53)
  • Men's, women's and youth ranges, including trousers, shorts, quarter zips and jackets

Pros:

  • Flat $9.99 (about £8) shipping on international orders, less than a third of William Murray's $35.95
  • A 45-day returns and exchanges window that includes international orders, where William Murray accepts no international returns
  • The personality sits on the hat, so your polo can stay plain for stricter clubs

Cons:

  • Duties and taxes on orders over $200 (about £154) are the buyer's to pay
  • International buyers pay return postage, and the refund policy deducts a $6.00 handling fee from returns
  • The prints lean outdoorsy, with hunting and fishing themes, rather than comedy heritage

Verdict:

Waggle is the low-risk way to get American golf fun across the Atlantic, with ten-dollar shipping and a returns window long enough to use. Keep the order under $200 to avoid paying duties on arrival.

Big Wedge Golf: Best for UK Creator Golfwear Played Straight

Available on: bigwedgegolf.com · Read our full Big Wedge Golf review

Key Features:

  • The clothing line of the Big Wedge Golf YouTube channel, started in 2024 by W2S, Miniminter and Zerkaa of the Sidemen, with Callux, Calfreezy and Randolph
  • About 859,000 YouTube subscribers in October 2026, with Seb of Seb on Golf as chief executive
  • Script logos and heritage-style designs in navy, green and cream colourways, rather than jokes
  • Polos at £45–£50, tees at £35, 400gsm hoodies and sweatshirts at £60–£65 and caps at £30

Pros:

  • Six fronting personalities, an ensemble to match six Murray brothers, selling from a UK store in pounds
  • Delivery by Evri and Royal Mail within the UK, so no customs bill at the door
  • Caps at £30, where most William Murray hats cost $32–$40 before $35.95 shipping

Cons:

  • Every clothing item was listed as sold out in early October 2026, and no new clothing had been added since December 2025
  • No trousers, shorts or women's range
  • There are no jokes at all, which misses the point of a William Murray wardrobe

Verdict:

Big Wedge suits the buyer who has outgrown the gag but not the fandom, with collared polos that sit easily within a typical club dress code. If the Caddyshack quote is the whole point, this is the wrong shop. Check stock first, because in early October 2026 none of its clothing could be ordered.

Summary

Few golf brands have a story like the Murrays'. Six caddie brothers in the Hall of Fame, the film their childhood helped inspire, a family tartan, and polos in a proper stretch fabric.

From Britain, the purchase is harder. You pay $35.95 to ship, wait up to six weeks, settle import charges at the door and accept that nothing goes back. There is no UK stockist to make it simpler.

Bogey Bros does the funny polo with thousands of reviews and a UK returns route. Breezy is sold here in pounds by a UK distributor. Fore Bros brings the brothers to Britain, and Barstool settles duty at checkout. Waggle ships its hats for $9.99, Big Wedge plays it straight when stock allows, and Three Putt keeps the humour on cotton streetwear with free UK delivery.

Buy the gopher hat when you next visit America. From here, the punchline comes with $35.95 postage and no way back. For more US labels, see our guide to American golf brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About William Murray Golf

Is William Murray Golf actually Bill Murray's brand?

Yes. It launched in 2016 as a partnership between Murray Brothers LLC, the company of Bill and his brothers, and Resignation Media, the company behind theCHIVE. The first polo and hats went on sale on Bill's birthday, 21 September 2016. The business trades as W.M. Golf, Inc. from East Austin, Texas, and every garment carries a green "Murray Brothers" eyelet.

What is the Caddyshack connection?

It's genuine. The Murray brothers caddied at Indian Hill Club outside Chicago, and Brian Doyle-Murray co-wrote Caddyshack from those years. Eldest brother Ed won an Evans Scholarship in 1963, which inspired the film's Danny Noonan storyline. The brand's Murray Movies collection features Bushwood CC, Carl Spackler and the gopher. The brothers' Caddyshack Invitational in Florida reached its 25th edition in April 2026.

Does William Murray Golf ship to the UK?

Yes, for a flat $35.95 (about £28), and international orders never qualify for free shipping, even during promotions. The FAQ warns that international orders may take three to six weeks. Prices are in dollars, and import taxes, duties and fees are the recipient's to pay. There is no UK stockist.

Can I return William Murray Golf from the UK?

No. William Murray Golf doesn't accept international returns or exchanges, so a UK order is effectively final. If you receive the wrong item or a defective product, the brand asks you to email its customer team with your order number and a short description. Final-sale and Cart Barn clearance items can't be returned by anyone, US customers included.

How expensive is William Murray Golf?

Men's polos list at $85 for the Murray Classic and $88 for most prints, with the Executive at $92. Tees are mostly $40, Chip Shot pullovers $105–$108, hoodies $112–$115, shorts $80 and pants $98. Women's dresses list at $92–$128, and most hats at $32–$40. A UK order adds $35.95 shipping and import charges.

Does William Murray Golf make women's clothing?

Yes, and it is one of the brand's strengths. The women's line covers polos, sleeveless polos, dresses, skirts, bottoms, outerwear and hats, with matching looks. Among the alternatives here, Bogey Bros' women's range is polos only, Waggle has a women's range, and Breezy, Fore Bros, Barstool and Big Wedge have no women's line.

How does William Murray Golf sizing run?

The brand says its polos have "a more relaxed fit, but not your grandfather's boxy style", and suggests sizing down for a slimmer fit. Button-downs run slimmer, so size up for a relaxed fit. Men's sizes run S–3XL, with a size chart for each garment. With no international returns, check the chart before you order.

Is William Murray Golf good quality?

The core polos are better than the celebrity name suggests: 92% polyester and 8% spandex ZFG Lite stretch that moves well through the swing. Independent review volume is thin, with only two Trustpilot reviews in October 2026. The logos are heat-transferred, so wash cold and don't iron them. Nothing in the range is waterproof.
