Chervò vs Three Putt: Italian Technical Golfwear or UK Golf Streetwear

We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

An Italian golf house with ski-slope roots and serious rain tech, against a Leeds streetwear brand that sells four heavyweight garments. They share a first tee and very little else.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict and Quick Pick
Chervò is an Italian premium golfwear house selling polos, merino-cashmere knitwear, technical trousers and 20,000mm waterproofs for men, women and juniors. Three Putt is a Leeds streetwear brand selling heavyweight tees, sweatshirts and hoodies from £23.99 with free UK delivery. Choose Chervò for the course, budget permitting, and Three Putt for off-course golf style.
Best for golf style off the course, on a sensible budget: Three Putt. Heavyweight cotton tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies with golf graphics, priced in pounds from £23.99 to £54.99 with free UK delivery. It is casual wear, not performance kit, and there is no collared shirt in the range.
Best for dress-code rounds, cold mornings and British rain: Chervò. Italian polos, merino-cashmere knits and Aqua-Block waterproofs rated at over 20,000mm, plus women's and junior ranges. The catch is buying it: UK orders ship duties-unpaid under its terms, returns cost €65 and the big UK golf retailers don't stock it.

Brand Overview
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is a UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds. The range is deliberately narrow: tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies.
Each comes in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green. The idea is golf culture you can wear anywhere, not a full on-course wardrobe.
That brings honest limits. The range has no polos, trousers, shorts, outerwear, waterproofs or caps, and no women's-specific line. If your club has a collared-shirt dress code, you will need a polo from elsewhere.
Chervò
Chervò is an Italian company founded in 1982 by brothers Manfred and Peter Erlacher as a ski apparel brand in the Dolomites. It moved into golf in the early 1990s, starting with waterproof rainwear.
Based at Costermano sul Garda, near Verona, it sells in more than 40 countries through over 700 points of sale.
Team Chervò includes Matteo Manassero, Francesco Laporta and Jenny Shin, who won the 2026 Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links. Chervò is also an official Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup licensee, and launched a 2027 Ryder Cup capsule in August 2026.
For British golfers, the hard part is buying it. The UK site charges in pounds, but American Golf, Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline didn't list Chervò in October 2026. Love Golf Clothes stocks some women's pieces, and Teepeg a few discounted items.

Key Features and Fabrics
Three Putt Golf
- Tees: 100% cotton, 260gsm, relaxed fit, S–3XL, five colourways per design.
- Long-sleeve tees: 280gsm, 85% cotton / 15% polyester, loose drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL.
- Sweatshirts: 400gsm cotton crewneck, regular fit, S–2XL.
- Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton / 44% polyester, oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, four colourways per design.
These are heavyweight casual garments, not technical performance wear. Don't expect moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection.
Chervò
- Polos: the Alamo is a long-sleeve polo in four-way stretch piqué with Dry-Matic moisture management. Chervò's Sunblock treatment adds a titanium-based UV filter.
- Knitwear: the Nitrato knitted polo, the Nanchino half-zip and the Nador polo-collar sweater all use merino wool and cashmere blends.
- Waterproofs: the Masterpiece jacket and Supersonic over-trousers are two-layer Aqua-Block stretch shells. Chervò rates both at over 20,000mm, with breathability above 20,000g/m²/24h.
- Insulation and wind: padded jackets such as the Manuel and Mario combine Pro-Therm insulation, Wind-Lock windproofing and an Aqua-Drop water-repellent finish.
- Trousers: the Sorga is a two-layer softshell with Pro-Therm, and the Sylvestre adds Wind-Lock and Aqua-Drop for cold, blustery rounds.
One garment from each sums up the gap. A Three Putt hoodie is a 430gsm cotton-blend layer for a cold range session and the pub after. A Chervò Masterpiece is a two-layer waterproof built for a wet Saturday medal.
Price Comparison
| Category | Three Putt | Chervò |
|---|---|---|
| Tees | £23.99–£29.99 | About £93 list for the Lamberto crew-neck T-shirt |
| Long-sleeve tops | £27.99–£34.99 long-sleeve tees | About £118 for the Alamo long-sleeve polo |
| Polos | Not in the range | Men's about £118–£149; women's from about £115 |
| Sweatshirts, hoodies and fleece | £37.99–£47.99 sweatshirts; £45.99–£54.99 hoodies | About £127 for the Tago half-zip stretch fleece; about £170 for the Piozzi thermal fleece jacket |
| Knitwear | Not in the range | About £187–£209 for merino-cashmere knits |
| Trousers | Not in the range | About £170–£229 |
| Jackets and waterproofs | Not in the range | Jackets about £280–£340; Supersonic over-trousers about £255 |
| Delivery to a UK address | Free | From about £12, with possible import charges |
| Cost of a return | Return postage | €65 fee (about £56), plus return shipping |
Chervò's UK site charges in pounds, but the odd pence show euro list prices converted at the till, so figures shift slightly with the exchange rate. The prices above are full price, rounded, in October 2026.
The sale and outlet on older-season pieces are the cheaper way in, but the duties question and the €65 return fee still apply.
A winter outfit of an Alamo polo, a Masterpiece jacket and Supersonic over-trousers comes to roughly £650 before delivery. That would buy a dozen Three Putt hoodies, though they won't keep you dry.
Price Verdict
Three Putt's dearest item, a £54.99 hoodie, costs less than half a Chervò polo. Chervò's prices buy real fabric technology and Italian knitwear, and they sit with the names in our luxury golf brands guide. For a UK buyer, the possible courier bill and the €65 return fee make full price harder to justify. Three Putt is far cheaper and simpler to buy.
Fit and Sizing
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt sizes run S–3XL on tees and S–2XL on everything else. Tees have a relaxed fit, long-sleeves a loose drop shoulder, and sweatshirts a regular fit. Hoodies are oversized with a drop shoulder, so size down if you want a closer look.
Chervò
Chervò cuts a tailored European shape, but it isn't one-size-fits-all slim. The size guide lists slim, regular and loose fits, each 2cm apart across the half-chest, so check which one a product uses.
The UK site shows UK sizes. Men's tops run UK 36–48, which Chervò maps to Italian 46–58 and US XS–XXL. Men's trousers run UK 30–42, women's polos UK 8–20 and women's waterproof trousers UK 6–20. There is a junior line too.
Bigger golfers run out of room at XXL, because there is no 3XL in men's tops. Golf Monthly's 6ft 3in tester found an XL Chervò polo "spot on".
Fit Verdict
Chervò wins on choice: three defined fits, proper centimetre charts, trouser waists and women's and junior sizing. Three Putt goes one size bigger on tees, to 3XL. A wrong Chervò size means a return with a €65 fee and a new order, so measure first.
Style and Versatility
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt is golf streetwear: golf-themed graphics on heavyweight fabric, cut in relaxed and oversized shapes. A hoodie works for a casual range session, the pub after a round or a weekend layer. It isn't the right shirt for a members' competition at a traditional club, so check your golf dress code first.
Chervò
Chervò's look is Italian tailoring with ski-outerwear roots. The Fall-Winter 2026 "Perfect Swing" collection runs on browns, beige, cream and navy, with orange and acid-green accents.
Off the course, a Nitrato knitted polo with tailored trousers reads as smart-casual for a clubhouse dinner. The padded jackets and fleece half-zips double as winter layers away from golf. What Chervò doesn't do is streetwear.
Style Verdict
Both brands cross over, in different directions. Chervò moves from the course to the clubhouse and a smart dinner. Three Putt moves from golf culture into everyday streetwear. Choose by where you'll wear it most.

Quality, Durability and Sustainability
Three Putt Golf
Three Putt's quality story is weight. Tees are 260gsm cotton, sweatshirts are 400gsm and hoodies are 430gsm. On sustainability, Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.
Chervò
Chervò's quality case is a named fabric suite with numbers behind it. The Aqua-Block membrane has taped seams and a published water column, and the knitwear uses merino wool and cashmere. Golf Monthly's review of the Anyone polo said it "feels very premium and well made".
Independent customer reviews are thin, though. Chervò's Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and held a single review in October 2026.
Transparency lags behind the fabric story. Most apparel pages don't state a country of manufacture. Some knit accessories are labelled Made in Italy, and some trousers use Italian-made fabric.
A few pieces, such as the Mario padded jacket, carry a "Recycle" tag. Beyond that, there is no wider sustainability programme on the site.
Quality Verdict
Chervò wins on technical quality, from 20,000mm waterproofs to merino-cashmere knits. Neither brand makes big sustainability claims. Three Putt wins on heavyweight fabric at a low price. For more rain-ready options, see our guide to waterproof golf clothing.
Customer Support and Returns
Three Putt Golf
Delivery is free across the UK. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and note that you pay the return postage. Support is by email.
Chervò
Chervò ships by UPS, with UK delivery from about £12. Duties are where it gets confusing. Its terms say orders outside the EU ship DDU (delivery duty unpaid), so the courier may ask a UK buyer for import VAT and duty.
A banner across the UK site says the opposite: "customs duties included on all UK shipments". The delivery page adds that Chervò can't predict customs charges. Until the two agree, budget for a possible courier bill, or ask Chervò to confirm before you order.
The returns page gives 30 days from delivery, through an online portal, with tags attached and the parcel sealed. Return shipping is on you, and the return fee is €65, covering shipping, duties and customs. There are no direct exchanges: you return the item and place a new order.
Support runs by email at help@chervo.com and a contact form, Monday to Friday in Italian office hours. No phone line or live chat is listed.
Support Verdict
Chervò's 30-day window beats Three Putt's 14 days. For a UK buyer, though, Three Putt is simpler: free delivery, pounds at checkout and no customs to worry about. A Chervò return costs €65 before you reorder, and its own pages disagree on duties. Both brands leave return postage to the customer.
Our Pick
Buy Chervò if you want one premium wardrobe for every kind of golf day and have the budget. A Dry-Matic polo covers a dress-code round, a Nitrato knit covers a cold morning and the Masterpiece suit covers a downpour. Measure carefully, look at the sale first and allow for the duties question.
Buy Three Putt if you want golf style for everywhere else, priced in pounds with free UK delivery. Heavyweight tees from £23.99 and hoodies under £52 cover the range session and the pub after. A sweatshirt or long-sleeve tee rounds it out. If your club requires a collar, you will still need a polo from elsewhere.
Some golfers will want both: Chervò for the round, Three Putt for the drive home. For more labels from the continent, see our guide to European golf brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Three Putt vs Chervò
Is Three Putt a good alternative to Chervò?
For off-course style, yes. Three Putt sells heavyweight tees, long-sleeves, sweatshirts and hoodies from £23.99, priced in pounds with free UK delivery. It isn't an alternative for a dress-code round or a wet winter medal, because the range has no polos, trousers or waterproofs. For those, Chervò is the stronger brand, at a much higher price.
Will I pay customs duties on a Chervò order to the UK?
Possibly. Chervò's terms say orders outside the EU ship DDU, so the courier may ask for import VAT and duty before delivery. A banner on its UK site says customs duties are included on UK shipments, so the two disagree. Budget for a possible charge, or ask Chervò to confirm before ordering. Three Putt ships from the UK, so there are no customs.
How much does Chervò cost in the UK?
At full price in October 2026, the UK site charged about £118–£149 for men's polos, £187–£209 for merino-cashmere knitwear, £170–£229 for trousers and £280–£340 for jackets. Prices carry odd pence because they're converted from euros. Delivery starts at about £12, and the sale and outlet on older-season pieces are cheaper.
Which is better on the course?
Chervò, clearly. Its Dry-Matic polos suit any dress code, its softshell trousers handle cold rounds and its Aqua-Block waterproofs are rated at over 20,000mm. Three Putt's tees and hoodies suit a relaxed round at an easy-going club, but offer no performance fabric or weather protection, and there are no collared shirts in the range.
Is Three Putt good quality?
Three Putt's quality case rests on fabric weight: 260gsm 100% cotton tees, 400gsm cotton sweatshirts and 430gsm cotton/polyester hoodies. That is substantial for casual wear at £23.99–£54.99. Chervò works in technical membranes and merino-cashmere at several times the price, for a different job on the course.
How do the fits differ?
Chervò offers slim, regular and loose fits, with men's tops in UK 36–48, equal to US XS–XXL, and trousers in UK 30–42. Women's polos run UK 8–20. Three Putt cuts roomier streetwear shapes, from relaxed tees to oversized hoodies, with tees in S–3XL and the rest in S–2XL.
Are Chervò and Three Putt sustainable?
Neither makes sweeping claims. Chervò puts a "Recycle" tag on a few pieces, such as the Mario padded jacket, but has no wider sustainability programme. Most of its apparel pages don't state where garments are made. Three Putt makes no recycled-content or eco claims. Its tees are 100% cotton.
Which is better value?
For casual wear, Three Putt: the whole range sits between £23.99 and £54.99, with free UK delivery. A Chervò polo costs about £118 or more, a return carries a €65 fee and duties may be due. Chervò's prices buy real technical kit, so for waterproofs and dress-code polos, the value case is stronger in its sale.
