7 Best Chervò Golf Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Exploring the brands UK golfers turn to when Italian luxury charges €65 to change your mind.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Top Picks
- Macade Golf: Best overall alternative, with duties paid and free UK returns
- Ping Apparel: Best for a family range you can try on in UK golf shops
- Abacus Sportswear: Best for Swedish rainwear from UK golf shops
- Röhnisch: Best for women's golfwear from a women-only brand
- Castore Golf: Best for British performance kit with free returns
- Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course
- Cross Sportswear: Best for Swedish stretch rain suits from a brand in transition
Why People Look Beyond Chervò
UK golfers look beyond Chervò because buying it is costly and hard to undo. Full-price men's polos cost £118.72–£149.47 in October 2026, UK orders ship duties-unpaid and returns carry a €65 fee. The big UK golf retailers don't stock it either, so there's nowhere local to try the fit first.
Chervò is a serious golf clothing house. Brothers Manfred and Peter Erlacher founded it in 1982 as a ski apparel brand in the Dolomites, and it moved into golf in the early 1990s, starting with waterproof rainwear. It's headquartered at Costermano sul Garda, near Verona, and sells in more than 40 countries through over 700 points of sale.
The technical side is properly named. Aqua-Block is a laminated waterproof membrane, rated at over 20,000mm with taped seams on the £281.00 Masterpiece jacket. Around it sit Wind-Lock, Pro-Therm, Dry-Matic, Sunblock and Aqua-Drop, across men's, women's and junior ranges. The tour links are real too: Chervò is an official Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup licensee, and Team Chervò's Jenny Shin won the 2026 Women's Scottish Open.
The problems are in the buying. Chervò's terms say orders outside the EU ship DDU, so the courier may ask a UK buyer for import VAT and duty. Returns cost a €65 fee (about £56), and there are no direct exchanges. UK delivery starts at €14.50 (about £12), and the pound prices carry odd pence because they're converted from euros.
That would matter less if you could try it on. American Golf, Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline didn't list Chervò in October 2026. Love Golf Clothes stocks some women's pieces, and Teepeg a few discounted items. Trustpilot doesn't help either, with a single review on an unclaimed profile. Each brand below fixes at least one of those problems.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand
Macade Golf: Best Overall Alternative, with Duties Paid and Free UK Returns

Available on: macadegolf.com · Read our full Macade Golf review
Key Features:
- A Stockholm brand founded in 2019 "to reimagine golf apparel for a new generation", pairing performance fabrics with Scandinavian design
- Full men's and women's lines: polos, knitwear, joggers, trousers, shorts, gilets, windbreakers, skirts and dresses
- HydroCore waterproofs, launched in September 2026: a 3-layer jacket and trousers rated at 20,000mm, with a PFAS-free finish
- A tour team including Ewen Ferguson and Gabriella Then, while Alex Norén, who signed in 2023, has his own Players Collection
Pros:
- All orders ship DDP, with VAT and duties included at checkout, where Chervò's UK orders ship duties-unpaid
- Free standard UK delivery, plus free UK returns and size exchanges within 30 days, against Chervò's €65 return fee
- Stocked by UK retailers including Function18 and Clubhouse Golf, so you can try it on first
- Polos and shirts from £75 (Flight Shirt) to £110 (AR Tech Polo), below Chervò's £118.72 entry polo
Cons:
- Trustpilot sat at 3.8 from 78 reviews in October 2026, with complaints about slow refunds and return labels
- No junior range, where Chervò makes one
- HydroCore is brand new, and the £295 jacket costs more than Chervò's £281.00 Masterpiece
Verdict:
Macade is the European premium buy with the buying problems fixed: duties paid at checkout, free delivery and a free return label. Its polos cost less than Chervò's, and HydroCore finally gives it a 20,000mm answer to Aqua-Block. What it can't offer is a junior range or Chervò's three decades of golf rainwear.
Ping Apparel: Best for a Family Range You Can Try On in UK Golf Shops

Available on: pingeurope.com · Read our full Ping Apparel review
Key Features:
- PING Europe's own range, run from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, for the family-owned club maker founded in 1959 by Karsten and Louise Solheim
- Built on PING's Sensor platform: SensorCool for summer, SensorWarm for cold and SensorDry for rain, plus AquaDrive waterproofs
- Men's, women's and junior ranges, with junior Lindum and Ramsey pieces for ages 7–12
- PING makes Team Europe's 2026 Solheim Cup kit
Pros:
- Listed by American Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline, so trying before you buy is easy
- Polos at £45–£65 with VAT included, around half Chervò's prices or less, and UK delivery at £5, free over £50
- The £300 AquaDrive Pro jacket is rated by PING at 30,000mm and carries a five-year limited warranty
- Covers men, women and juniors, the same three audiences as Chervò
Cons:
- Only 14 days to return a direct order, posted back at your own cost, though that still beats a €65 fee
- Functional club styling rather than Italian tailoring
- Almost no independent customer reviews: three on Trustpilot and none on its product pages
Verdict:
PING makes Team Europe's Solheim Cup kit, where Chervò holds an official licence. It sells through UK golf retailers at around half Chervò's polo prices, with waterproofs rated even higher. Nobody will mistake it for Italian tailoring, and that's the main argument left for Chervò.
Abacus Sportswear: Best for Swedish Rainwear from UK Golf Shops

Available on: clubhousegolf.co.uk · golfonline.co.uk · Read our full Abacus Sportswear review
Key Features:
- A family-owned Swedish brand founded in 1991 by Sven-Olof Karlsson and Ingrid Lindgren Wachtmeister
- A three-step rain range: Links (10,000mm), Bounce (15,000mm, four-way stretch) and Pitch 37.5 (20,000mm)
- Official Licensee of the 2026 Solheim Cup and the 2027 Ryder Cup, the same two events Chervò holds licences for
- National Tournament Partner to the PGA in Great Britain and Ireland since 2025
Pros:
- The Pitch 37.5 was joint Best Overall in MyGolfSpy's rain gear tests in both 2025 and 2026, scoring 9.8 in 2026
- Sold in pounds by Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline with no import charges, from about £129 for the Links jacket to £269.99 for the Pitch at RRP
- The Pitch costs less than Chervò's £281.00 Masterpiece and carries a 20,000mm rating of its own
- PFC-free rain fabrics, with recycled polyester in many pieces
Cons:
- The brand's own store delivers only to Sweden and Denmark, so delivery and returns follow each stockist's terms
- UK shops carry mostly rainwear, so it won't replace Chervò's polos and knitwear
- No stated long-term waterproof guarantee
Verdict:
Abacus is the rainwear answer: 20,000mm on the Pitch, back-to-back MyGolfSpy wins and British tills with no customs to pay. Beyond the waterproofs the UK range thins out, so it replaces Chervò's rain gear rather than the whole wardrobe.
Röhnisch: Best for Women's Golfwear from a Women-Only Brand

Available on: rohnisch.com · Read our full Röhnisch review
Key Features:
- A Swedish brand founded in 1945 by gymnastics champion Hellmut Röhnisch, and all-female since 2000 under the line "For women, by women"
- Women's golf clothing since 2002: polos, knits, trousers, skorts, dresses, padded layers and rainwear
- 82% owned by Swedish investor Creades, per its half-year report to June 2026
- Its website features 2018 Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall as an ambassador
Pros:
- A documented materials record: 94% of AW24 products met its preferred-materials criteria, and it has been fluorocarbon-free since 2015
- Priced in pounds on its UK site, with polos at £55–£106 against Chervò's women's polos from £115.31
- Röhnisch says it covers import costs on UK orders over £135, and size exchanges for the same item and colour are free
- Core tops run XXS–3XL, and the Chie trousers and skort EU 32–52
Cons:
- No men's range at all, by design
- UK delivery is £12.90 with no free-delivery threshold listed, and a £4.90 return cost comes off your refund
- The £175 Rain Shield jacket is described as wind- and water-resistant, not a fully waterproof match for Aqua-Block
Verdict:
Röhnisch is where the women's half of a Chervò wardrobe should look next. Buying direct costs £12.90 a time, but prices are in pounds and import costs are covered on orders over £135. Men get nothing here.
Castore Golf: Best for British Performance Kit with Free Returns

Available on: castore.com · Read our full Castore Golf review
Key Features:
- A Manchester-based sportswear brand started by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, with its first golf collection launched in April 2019
- Named fabric tech: AerTek wicking, ProTek water-repellent finishes, OTek odour protection on some polos and the LVS range
- Dresses LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club, whose 2026 team is Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Sam Horsfield and Laurie Canter
- A men's range of polos, quarter-zips, gilets, trousers, shorts and jackets, plus a Castore x Paul Smith capsule
Pros:
- Sold in pounds from the UK with no duties: delivery is £3.95, or free over £60
- Free returns within 28 days, against Chervò's €65 fee
- The £48 Essential polo and £65 golf trousers cost well under half of Chervò's £118.72 polo and £169.97 trousers
- Trustpilot sat at 4.5 from more than 10,000 reviews in October 2026, where Chervò has a single review
Cons:
- No women's golf clothing on castore.com, so it can't replace Chervò's women's range
- Jackets are water-resistant for light drizzle, not waterproof
- No exchanges, and golf sizes stop at 2XL
Verdict:
Castore gives a male Chervò buyer what the purchase is missing: pounds, no customs, free returns and less than half the price. It's sportier and less tailored, and it has no answer to Aqua-Block. Women golfers will need to look elsewhere.
Three Putt Golf: Best for Golf Streetwear Off the Course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk · Read our full Chervò vs Three Putt comparison
Key Features:
- A UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds, selling six graphic designs across its streetwear: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
- Tees: 100% cotton, 305gsm, relaxed fit, S–2XL, £24.99–£30.99, five colourways per design
- Long-sleeve tees at 305gsm (100% cotton) for £28.99–£35.99, and 400gsm cotton crewneck sweatshirts for £37.99–£47.99
- Hoodies: 430gsm, 56% cotton and 44% polyester, oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, £45.99–£54.99, four colourways per design
Pros:
- Priced in pounds with free UK delivery, so there's nothing to pay on the doorstep
- Tees from £24.99 and hoodies from £45.99, so a hoodie costs less than half a Chervò polo
- Published fabric weights and blends for every garment
Cons:
- No performance polos, trousers or outerwear, and no caps or women's-specific range
- Cotton streetwear, not technical kit: no moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection
- Returns within 14 days of delivery, emailing support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, with return postage at the customer's cost
Verdict:
Three Putt is our own brand, so weigh this entry with that in mind. It covers the hoodie-and-tee side of golf life, not Chervò's polos, knitwear or waterproofs, which is why it sits sixth. If your club has a collared-shirt dress code, you'll want a polo rather than a tee.
Cross Sportswear: Best for Swedish Stretch Rain Suits from a Brand in Transition

Available on: cross-sportswear.com · ladiesonlinegolf.com · Read our full Cross Sportswear review
Key Features:
- Founded in Gothenburg in 1986 by two golfers who wanted rainwear they could swing in, and built on the FTX membrane
- The Pro jacket is a 2-layer, four-way stretch shell rated at 20,000mm; the lighter Hurricane is rated at 15,000mm
- MyGolfSpy ranked the Cross Edge suit top of its rain gear test three years running to 2019
- The trademark was sold in October 2025 to a subsidiary of Sweden's Seagull-Eye Group, weeks before the old operating company went bankrupt
Pros:
- Euro prices below Chervò's: the Pro jacket is €280 (about £239) and polos start at €50 (about £43)
- Most waterproof trousers come in short, regular and long legs
- Ladies Online Golf stocked 29 women's Cross pieces in pounds in October 2026, mostly rain jackets and trousers
Cons:
- The webshop doesn't deliver to the UK, so its 3-year rain gear warranty, which covers direct purchases only, is out of reach
- None of the big UK golf chains stock it, so UK buyers go through specialists such as Dormy and Ladies Online Golf
- The change of owner leaves future ranges, stock and support uncertain
Verdict:
Cross is the specialist pick: stretch rain suits with published ratings and proper leg lengths, from a brand that once topped MyGolfSpy's test three years running. For UK golfers it's harder to buy than Chervò, with no direct delivery and a new owner. Women can find it at Ladies Online Golf; men will struggle.
Quick Comparison Grid

Summary
Chervò is a proper golf clothing house, 44 years in. It has women's and junior ranges, a membrane rated at over 20,000mm, Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup licences and a 2026 tour winner in Jenny Shin.
For UK golfers, the trouble is buying it. Full-price polos cost £118.72–£149.47 in October 2026, orders arrive duties-unpaid and a return costs €65. The big UK golf retailers don't stock it, so every order is a bet on your size.
Macade fixes the buying problems outright, with duties paid, free UK returns and UK stockists. Ping and Castore sell in pounds at around half the price, and Ping covers women and juniors too. Abacus brings 20,000mm rainwear through British shops, and Röhnisch is the pick for women. Cross makes fine rain suits but is hard to buy here, and Three Putt covers the hoodies and tees for after the round.

Frequently Asked Questions About Chervò
Does Chervò ship to the UK, and will I pay duties?
Yes, but not duty-paid. Chervò dispatches by UPS within one working day and quotes economy shipping to the UK from €14.50 (about £12), in 5–7 working days. Its terms say orders outside the EU ship DDU, so the courier may ask you for import VAT and duty before delivery. Chervò says it can't predict the amount.
What is Chervò's return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to start a return online, with tags attached and the parcel sealed. The UK store's returns page puts return shipping on you and sets a €65 return fee, about £56, covering shipping, duties and customs. There are no direct exchanges, so a wrong size means returning the item and placing a new order.
Where can I buy Chervò in the UK?
Mainly direct from chervo.com. American Golf, Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline didn't list the brand in October 2026. Love Golf Clothes stocks some women's pieces, and Teepeg lists a few discounted items. Macade, Ping and Abacus all have UK stockists.
How much does Chervò cost?
On the UK site in October 2026, full-price men's polos cost £118.72–£149.47, merino-cashmere knitwear £187.05–£209.26, trousers £169.97–£229.76 and jackets £281.00–£340.79. The odd pence come from euro list prices converted to pounds. The sale and outlet on older-season pieces are the cheaper way in.
Who owns Chervò?
Chervò S.p.A. is an Italian company founded in 1982 by brothers Manfred and Peter Erlacher. Manfred has led the business as chief executive, and Peter, a former Italian national-team skier, as chief design officer. Its headquarters are at Costermano sul Garda, near Verona, with a registered office in Castelrotto in the Dolomites.
Do any professional golfers wear Chervò?
Yes. Team Chervò lists Matteo Manassero, Francesco Laporta, Andrea Pavan, Gregorio De Leo, Jenny Shin, Emma Spitz, Alessandra Fanali and Alexandra Försterling. Jenny Shin won the 2026 Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links. Kurt Kitayama won the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational in Chervò, the brand's first PGA Tour title, though he isn't on the current team page.
Is Chervò connected to the Ryder Cup?
Yes. Chervò is an official licensee of both the Ryder Cup and the Solheim Cup, and its official 2027 Ryder Cup capsule launched in August 2026. A licence lets a brand sell official event merchandise, and it isn't exclusive. Abacus, for example, is also an official licensee of the 2026 Solheim Cup and the 2027 Ryder Cup.
What is the best Chervò alternative for UK golfers?
Macade Golf is the best overall alternative: premium Scandinavian design, a full women's range and new 20,000mm HydroCore waterproofs, with duties paid, free UK delivery and free 30-day UK returns. For lower prices and UK stockists, Ping and Castore sell in pounds. Abacus suits rainwear, Röhnisch suits women golfers, and Three Putt covers casual golf streetwear.
