We test golf apparel the way we play. Hard, social, and honest.

Fifty years of pro-shop polos, team logos and corporate golf days, from a Scottsdale garage to TGL team merch.
How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Verdict: 6.8/10
Antigua is an Arizona apparel house that has dressed American pro shops, corporate golf days and sports fans since 1976. We liked the $60–$65 golf polos in Desert Dry stretch jersey with UPF 50+, core styles cut up to 5X, and licensed ranges running from the NFL to TGL.
It's bigger than it looks from here: thousands of licensed products, a Fall 26 golf collection that landed in July, and even Manchester City and Newcastle United ranges.
Where it falls short for UK golfers: Antigua's own store ships only to US addresses, and we couldn't find a UK golf retailer that stocks it. The practical route is TGL team gear via Fanatics, and there are no men's golf trousers, shorts or dedicated rainwear.
This brand is best for TGL fans, golf societies with an American contact, and anyone who wants a plain, well-made logo polo and doesn't mind importing it.
Key Features
- Signature tech/fabric: Desert Dry moisture-wicking, with UPF 50+ on the golf line and a 94% polyester / 6% spandex "poly-sheen" stretch jersey on the newest polos
- Design language: Clean club-shop classics plus sublimated geo and floral prints, built to carry a logo
- Fit profile: A classic fit with comfort-fit sleeves and high-low hems, on an inch-based chart running S to 5X
- Range depth: Polos, quarter-zips, fleece, jackets, vests and women's skorts, plus licensed ranges from the NFL to TGL; no men's golf trousers, shorts or dedicated rainwear
Pros
- Honest US pricing: $40–$70 polos, with the new Fall 26 golf polos at $65
- Core Essentials polos run S–5X, and women's core styles XS–3X
- Licensing muscle few golf brands can match: NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, college, TGL and Premier League clubs
- Unusual sourcing transparency: a Fair Labor Association participant with a published supplier list
Cons
- The brand's own store ships only to the US, and we couldn't find a UK stockist
- No men's golf trousers or shorts, and no dedicated golf rain jacket
- The newest men's golf polos are listed online in M–XL only
- A tiny consumer footprint: no Trustpilot profile and about 3,200 Instagram followers
Antigua Golf Pricing
Antigua prices like the volume supplier it is. Core polos sit at $40–$58, golf-line polos at $60–$70, quarter-zips at $55–$75 and jackets at $65–$85. The store charges in dollars and only ships to US addresses, so treat the figures below as reference points rather than a UK checkout price.
| Category | Entry | Typical | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polos | £31 | £42–£50 | £54 |
| Midlayers | £38 | £42–£54 | £58 |
| Trousers/Shorts | £38 | £38 | £50 |
| Outerwear | £38 | £50 | £65 |
| Licensed/Team polos | £38 | £50–£54 | £56 |
Approximate GBP equivalents at about $1.30 to the pound, before any shipping or import costs: Legacy piqué polo $40, Tribute polo $45, Skills polo $55, Fall 26 golf polos (Trigon, Solve, Scramble, Eager, Andros) $65, Cruise and Ananas polos $70, women's polos $40–$65, quarter-zips $55–$70, Victory fleece $50–$68, Fortune pullover and Effortless full-zip hood $75, Brisk vest $50, Links 2 jacket $65, Swelter and Objection jackets $85, women's skorts $50–$65 (there are no men's golf trousers or shorts), Manchester City polos $50–$65 and TGL team polos $60–$73.
Comparison:
- Antigua vs Three Putt: Antigua makes the polo with the company logo on the chest. Three Putt is a UK brand making golf tees from £23.99 and heavyweight hoodies from £45.99, with free UK delivery. One gets bought by the box for the golf day; the other is what you wear to the bar afterwards.
- Antigua vs Cutter & Buck: America's two corporate-and-licensed polo houses, at near-identical money ($40–$70 against $45–$70 polos). Neither ships to the UK from its own store, but Cutter & Buck at least turns up on Amazon UK and clearance rails.
- Antigua vs Glenmuir: If you're kitting out a UK society, Glenmuir is the home-grown answer: heritage club polos from about £55 RRP, sold through UK retailers with no import paperwork. Antigua is cheaper in dollars and much harder to get.
- Antigua vs FootJoy: FootJoy is the club-polo default in British pro shops, at £45–£75 RRP with frequent 20–40% retailer discounts. Similar money to Antigua's polos, but FootJoy also has the UK stockists, the trousers and the outerwear.
Promos/Outlet Notes: An email sign-up takes 10% off a first order, and US shipping is free over $100. A standing sale section runs to roughly 400 products, and full-price buys get a price adjustment within 10 days of shipping. All of it applies to US addresses only.
Verdict: 6.8/10
Fair, unflashy US pricing: $65 for a new-season printed performance polo undercuts most golf brands. For UK golfers it's largely theoretical, because the golf collections can't be shipped here.
Antigua Golf Fit & Sizing (Usability)
Antigua cuts for real golfers rather than tour physiques. Its polos are a classic fit, with comfort-fit sleeves that land just above the elbow and high-low hems that work tucked or untucked. The size chart is in inches, so measuring is easy.
Notes:
- Polos: Classic three-button fit with rolled shoulder seams on most Essentials styles; the stretch golf polos add four-way stretch for the swing.
- Midlayers: Quarter-zips and fleece are regular layering cuts, sized to go over a polo.
- Trousers/Shorts: None for men. Women get two skorts, including the Chip with built-in shorts and a compression waistband.
- Outerwear: Men's jackets run S–3X; women's run XS–2X, with the Generation jacket to 3X.
- Heat/Humidity: Desert Dry wicking and 165–190gsm poly-spandex jerseys suit warm rounds best.
- Size Charts: The men's chart covers neck, chest, waist, hip, body length and sleeve. A men's medium covers a 38–40 inch chest and a large 42–44 inches.
Accessibility/Range:
- Men's core Essentials polos such as the Tribute and Legacy run S–5X (a 62–64 inch chest); the Fall 26 golf polos are listed online in M–XL only.
- Women's core styles run XS–3X; the new women's golf polos run S–XL.
- The store's Big & Tall collection showed no products when we checked, so extended sizes live on individual styles.
Verdict: 7.0/10
Genuinely inclusive sizing on the core range and a clear inch-based chart. The new golf polos are far narrower, and with no UK exchanges available, a wrong size is an expensive mistake.
Antigua Golf Core Product Categories
Polos
The engine room. The Fall 26 "Cool Front" polos (Trigon, Solve, Scramble, Eager and Andros) cost $65: 180gsm, 94/6 poly-spandex with four-way stretch, Desert Dry wicking, UPF 50+, side vents and matte logo buttons. Below them sit the Essentials workhorses, from the $40 Legacy piqué to the $45 Tribute, which Antigua calls one of its bestsellers, and the $55 Skills double stripe.
Verdict: 7.6/10

Midlayers (quarter-zips/fleece)
Quarter-zips are Antigua's second language: $55 for the Intent, Hunk and Twine, $70 for the new Echelon and the Insider, and $75 for the sweater-knit Fortune pullover. Fleece runs $50–$75, from Victory crews to the Effortless full-zip hood. Built for embroidery and the wash, not to turn heads.
Verdict: 7.2/10

Outerwear (jackets/vests)
Thin, and not really golf rainwear. The $65 Links 2 jacket bonds micro-fleece to a waterproof membrane, the $85 Swelter is a water-resistant quilted puffer, and the $85 Objection is a brushed stretch jacket. Vests run $50–$65, including the water- and wind-resistant Brisk. For a British winter you'd still want a proper waterproof from elsewhere.
Verdict: 6.3/10
Women's
A real parallel range rather than resized men's kit. Polos run from the $40 Legacy to the $65 Perfecto, with new Fall 26 styles such as the Mesmerize and Meadow at $60. Quarter-zips cost $55–$75, and the Chip and Retro skorts $50–$65. There are no women's golf trousers, and the new golf polos stop at XL.
Verdict: 7.0/10
Licensed & Team Collections
This is where Antigua is genuinely different. On top of the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL, it lists MLS, NWSL, MiLB, WNBA, NASCAR and a long roll of US colleges. The store also carries TGL team ranges and Manchester City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa collections. TGL polos run $60–$73, and the Fanatics-run TGL shop lists 267 Antigua pieces across seven teams.
Verdict: 7.8/10
Antigua Golf Materials & Tech (Construction, Sustainability)
Antigua's materials are honest performance commodities: Desert Dry wicking, sublimated prints and fabrics chosen to take embroidery and endless washing. The surprise is sourcing, where it publishes more than most mid-market golf brands.
Backend (manufacturing & standards):
- Started by Tom Dooley in his Scottsdale garage in 1976 as Eagle Golf of Scottsdale, and renamed Antigua in 1979 after a Caribbean holiday.
- Headquartered in Peoria, Arizona, and run by CEO Keith Kealer. A controlling interest went to Ashley NA, a Sports Direct subsidiary, in 2003, and Frasers Group's licensing arm IBML still lists Antigua among its brands.
- A Fair Labor Association participating company, with a compliance programme since 2014, a published supplier list and a stated ban on Xinjiang cotton.
- Product descriptions don't state country of manufacture, and recycled content appears on only a few styles, such as the Reprocess Polo (90% recycled polyester).
Application (on-garment features):
- Golf polos: Desert Dry wicking, UPF 50+ and 165–190gsm poly-spandex jerseys with four-way stretch.
- Essentials: 100% polyester piqué (170gsm) and interlock (175gsm), the fabrics that take a club crest.
- Outerwear: Membrane-bonded fleece (Links 2), water-resistant nylon taslan with 105gsm fill (Swelter) and a 92gsm water- and wind-resistant shell (Brisk).
- Details: Matte logo buttons, self-fabric collars, high-low hems with side vents, and an Antigua "A" on the right sleeve.
Verdict: 7.3/10
Fit-for-purpose fabrics and better supply-chain disclosure than you'd expect, but no premium hand-feel and only a thin sustainability story.
Antigua Golf Customer Support
Antigua runs a weekday phone line, an email desk and a returns portal for US shoppers. UK golfers can't order from the store at all.
Channels & Hours
- Phone 1-800-555-8706, Monday to Friday, 9am–4pm Pacific (about 5pm to midnight UK time).
- Email shopify@antigua.com, or the contact form on the store.
- Corporate and promotional-products buyers are sent to a separate corporate site.
Policies
- 30 days from the ship date for a refund or exchange, on unworn items in like-new condition with tags attached.
- Return postage is free only if Antigua sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged.
- Price adjustments within 10 days of shipping on full-price items; closeout items are excluded.
- Orders start processing immediately, so changes and cancellations aren't guaranteed.
Self-Serve
- US delivery is by FedEx: Economy 5–8 business days, Priority one day and Express one to two, with orders after 2pm Arizona time shipping the next business day.
- The store ships to US addresses only; there's no UK or European checkout.
- The UK route is Fanatics' TGL shop, which ships to Great Britain in 4–10 business days. It charges 20% VAT on orders up to £135 and adds a clearance charge at checkout above that, so nothing is due on delivery.
Verdict: 5.8/10
Clear US policies and a real phone number. For a UK golfer, though, Antigua's own store won't take the order, and its phone hours land in your evening.
What Are Antigua Golf's Review Ratings from Review Sites?
(As of October 2026)
- Trustpilot: No profile for antigua.com or antiguaapparelshop.com, so there's no independent consumer score.
- On-site (verified buyers): Sparse. The Tribute polo holds 5.0/5 from seven reviews; the new Fall 26 golf polos have none yet.
- Tour and Trade: Team Antigua lists LPGA players Stacy Lewis, Lizette Salas, Allisen Corpuz and Lauren Coughlin, plus Woody Austin on the senior tour. After a 1988 deal with the NFL, the brand outfitted Payne Stewart in NFL team colours on tour, and it dressed the 1993 US Ryder Cup team.
- Social: About 3,200 Instagram followers: tiny for a 50-year-old brand that mostly sells to pro shops, team stores and corporate buyers.
Synthesis:
The golf trade has reviewed Antigua for decades by reordering; consumers barely review it at all. That's the pattern of a wholesale brand, not a weak one, but it leaves UK buyers little independent evidence.
Is Antigua a Good Golf Brand?
Yes, for its home market. Antigua is a dependable, fairly priced polo and quarter-zip maker with inclusive sizing, real wicking fabric and huge licensing reach. Dooley's guiding line, "Do what you want to do while you have the chance to do it", still sits on its About page. For UK golfers, though, it's mostly out of reach: no UK shipping, no UK stockists, no golf trousers and no dedicated rainwear. If you want golf-culture clothing from a UK brand with free UK delivery, Three Putt's golf tees and heavyweight hoodies skip the import altogether. For more US labels, see our guide to American golf brands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Antigua Golf
Who owns Antigua golf clothing?
The Antigua Group is based in Peoria, Arizona, and run by CEO Keith Kealer. A controlling interest was sold in 2003 to Ashley NA, a subsidiary of Mike Ashley's Sports Direct, now Frasers Group. Frasers' brand-licensing business, IBML, still lists Antigua in its portfolio, although we couldn't find Antigua clothing on sale at Sports Direct in the UK.
Who founded Antigua?
Tom Dooley, a Phoenix golf-industry sales rep, started the business in his Scottsdale garage in 1976 as Eagle Golf of Scottsdale. After a holiday on the Caribbean island of Antigua, he renamed it in 1979, which is why the store says "Since 1979". Licensing followed in the late 1980s, starting with Major League Baseball.
Can you buy Antigua golf clothing in the UK?
Not easily. Antigua's own store ships only to US addresses, and we couldn't find it at American Golf, Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf, GolfOnline or Sports Direct. The workable route is Antigua's TGL team gear through Fanatics' TGL shop, which ships to Great Britain in 4–10 business days and collects VAT and clearance charges at checkout.
How does Antigua sizing run?
Antigua uses an inch-based chart: a men's medium fits a 38–40 inch chest and a large 42–44 inches. Polos are a classic fit with comfort-fit sleeves and high-low hems. Core men's styles run S–5X and women's XS–3X, but the newest golf polos are listed online in a much narrower M–XL for men and S–XL for women.
What is Desert Dry?
Desert Dry is Antigua's own name for its moisture-wicking fabric technology. On the current golf polos it's paired with UPF 50+ sun protection and a 94% polyester / 6% spandex stretch jersey. It's a sound warm-weather performance fabric rather than anything exotic.
How much are Antigua golf polos?
In US dollars, the Legacy piqué polo is $40 (about £31), the Tribute $45 (about £35) and the Skills $55 (about £42). The Fall 26 golf polos are $65 (about £50), and the Cruise and Ananas $70 (about £54). TGL team polos cost $60–$73, before shipping and UK import charges.
What is Antigua's return policy?
You get 30 days from the ship date to return unworn items with tags for a refund or an exchange. Return postage is only free if Antigua sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged. Full-price items also get a price adjustment within 10 days of shipping. The policy is written for US orders.
Does Antigua make TGL and Premier League apparel?
Yes. Antigua sells team ranges for TGL clubs including Atlanta Drive, Boston Common, Los Angeles Golf Club and New York Golf Club, and the Fanatics TGL shop lists 267 Antigua pieces across seven teams. It also makes Manchester City, Newcastle United and Aston Villa collections, sold through its US-only store.
Is Antigua good quality?
For the money, yes. The golf polos use proper performance jerseys with wicking, stretch and UPF 50+, and the Essentials fabrics are built for embroidery and repeated washing. Independent reviews are scarce: there's no Trustpilot profile and only a handful of on-site reviews, so the trade's long loyalty is the main evidence.
