7 Best Cutter & Buck Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Exploring the brands golfers turn to beyond Cutter & Buck's Pacific Northwest take on work-to-weekend golfwear.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Top Picks

  1. Ping Apparel: Best overall alternative with a full UK range
  2. Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric performance wear
  3. Stromberg: Best for a complete kit at high street prices
  4. Abacus: Best for Swedish-engineered waterproofs through UK stockists
  5. Castore: Best for athletic British golfwear with free UK returns
  6. Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course
  7. Fairway & Greene: Best for classic American polos and layers

Why People Look Beyond Cutter & Buck

UK golfers look beyond Cutter & Buck because it is hard to buy here. Its US store ships only within the United States, its European site is a catalogue with no prices or checkout, and UK golf retailers carry almost none of it. Amazon UK listings are the main route left.

Cutter & Buck was founded on Seattle's working waterfront in 1989. The name pairs a cutter, for the sea, with a buck, for the mountains. Sweden's New Wave Group has owned it since 2007. It sells versatile work-to-weekend sportswear with golf at its core, plus a large corporate logowear business. Our full Cutter & Buck review covers the range in detail.

The product earns its following. The Virtue polo is 95% recycled polyester, with the recycled content certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). The brand partners with amfori BSCI and the Fair Labor Association, and it makes official collections for the 2026 U.S. Open and PGA Championship. In Europe, it has been title sponsor of the Swedish men's tour, now the Cutter & Buck Tour, since 2024.

The gaps are all about access. Its US shipping page says international delivery is not available, and the country changer lists only the US and Canada. Cutter & Buck's own international contact list sends UK enquiries to a trade distributor, United Brands. In October 2026, County Golf and Golfbase showed no Cutter & Buck clothing, and Eureka Golf listed only winter mittens.

The US store sells no caps either, so even a buyer in America can't finish the look from one place. Here are seven alternatives a British golfer can actually order, with fair notes on where each one falls down.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand

Ping Apparel: Best overall alternative with a full UK range

Available on: pingeurope.com

Key Features:

  • Family-owned since Karsten and Louise Solheim founded PING in 1959, with a European clothing range sold direct in pounds
  • Polos at £45–£65, trousers at £55–£100 and waterproof jackets at £150–£300 on pingeurope.com in October 2026
  • The AW26 AquaDrive Pro jacket (£300) is rated 30,000mm waterproof, and AquaDrive Pro and SensorDry 2.5 pieces carry a five-year limited warranty
  • Full men's, women's and junior ranges, with men's tops XS–3XL on core styles and women's sizes 6–20

Pros:

  • Free UK delivery over £50, and stocked by American Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline
  • Trousers in four cuts and four leg lengths, from 30 to 44 inch waists
  • A proper waterproof range, a fair match for Cutter & Buck's WeatherTec outerwear
  • Tour credibility as the maker of Team Europe's 2026 Solheim Cup kit

Cons:

  • Returns within 14 days only, posted back at your own cost, against Cutter & Buck's 60 days in the US
  • No exchange route is set out in its returns terms
  • Recycled fabric appears item by item, such as the recycled-polyester Lindum polo, rather than as a certified programme

Verdict:

Ping does what Cutter & Buck does: a broad, unfussy range at mid-market money. The difference is that a British golfer can order it in pounds or pick it up from a UK golf shop. The 14-day returns window is short, but this is the closest like-for-like swap on the list.

Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric performance wear

Available on: reflo.com

Key Features:

  • A UK performance-wear brand founded in 2021 by Rory MacFadyen and Peter Philippou
  • Recycled content runs from 42% to 100% depending on the garment, and labels give the split
  • England captain Harry Kane led its 2024 seed round and is its global brand ambassador
  • Licensed by The R&A for Open Championship capsule collections in 2025 and 2026

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery over £70 and free UK returns and exchanges within 30 days
  • A full golf line of polos, chinos, shorts, joggers, midlayers, gilets and lightweight jackets
  • Polos at £49–£79 in October 2026, with core sizes XS–3XL
  • Same-day dispatch on weekday orders placed before noon

Cons:

  • No women's golf range
  • Certifications aren't named on its site, which says only that its fabrics "adhere to multiple sustainability certifications"
  • International ordering is suspended, and support is email-only on weekdays

Verdict:

If the recycled polyester was what drew you to Cutter & Buck, Reflo puts recycled fabric at the centre of the whole brand and delivers it free within the UK. Its certifications are less clearly documented than Cutter & Buck's GRS labels, though. The missing women's range is a real limitation.

Stromberg: Best for a complete kit at high street prices

Available on: americangolf.co.uk

Key Features:

  • A British golf brand owned by American Golf since September 2019 and sold almost entirely through its stores and website
  • Men's polos at £29.99–£49.99 and Hampton trousers at £49.99 in October 2026
  • The £99.99 Bandit waterproof jacket is rated 20,000mm
  • DP World Tour winner Andy Sullivan signed a two-year deal in January 2026, and Stromberg is official apparel partner of the Clutch Pro Tour

Pros:

  • A wide size run: many men's lines go S–5XL, trousers come in 30–46 inch waists with three leg lengths, and ladies' sizes run 8–20
  • Around 80 American Golf stores to try things on, with free in-store returns
  • Free UK delivery over £50
  • Weather Tech trousers held 4.6 from 529 Trustpilot product reviews on American Golf in October 2026

Cons:

  • Effectively one retailer, because the brand has no shop of its own
  • Postal returns are at your own cost unless the item is faulty
  • Design is functional rather than fashion-led, so little of it crosses over off the course

Verdict:

Stromberg is the closest match to Cutter & Buck's sensible, broadly sized wardrobe, and it costs less. You can try it on in an American Golf store and take it back there too. Cutter & Buck has the stronger recycled-fabric story, but Stromberg is the one you can actually buy.

Abacus: Best for Swedish-engineered waterproofs through UK stockists

Available on: clubhousegolf.co.uk and golfonline.co.uk

Key Features:

  • A family-owned Swedish brand founded in 1991 by Sven-Olof Karlsson and Ingrid Lindgren Wachtmeister
  • Three rain tiers: Links (10,000mm), Bounce (15,000mm) and Pitch 37.5 (20,000mm)
  • MyGolfSpy named the Pitch 37.5 joint Best Overall in its 2026 rain gear guide
  • An official licensee of the 2026 Solheim Cup and the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor

Pros:

  • Published waterproof and breathability ratings on every rain tier
  • Sold in pounds by UK stockists, so returns go back to the shop rather than to Sweden
  • Rainwear is listed as PFC-free
  • A National Tournament Partner of the PGA in Great Britain and Ireland since 2025

Cons:

  • Abacus's own store ships only to Sweden and Denmark, so UK prices and stock depend on retailers
  • Premium rainwear money, with UK RRPs of £269.99 for the Pitch jacket and £219.99 for the Bounce in October 2026
  • No stated lifetime waterproof guarantee, and UK shops mainly carry the rainwear

Verdict:

There is a neat irony here. Cutter & Buck is the Swedish-owned brand that won't post to Britain, while Abacus is the Swedish brand UK golf shops actually stock. If Cutter & Buck's WeatherTec outerwear was the draw, Abacus is the stronger rain specialist.

Castore: Best for athletic British golfwear with free UK returns

Available on: castore.com

Key Features:

  • A British brand founded by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, whose first golf collection launched in April 2019
  • Named fabrics: AerTek wicking, ProTek water-repellent finishes, OTek odour protection on some polos and the LVS (Layered Ventilation System) range
  • LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club wears it under a multi-year deal, with Westwood, Poulter, Horsfield and Canter on the 2026 team
  • A Castore x Paul Smith golf capsule sits alongside the core range

Pros:

  • A £48 Essential polo and £65 golf trousers in October 2026, priced in pounds
  • £3.95 UK delivery, free over £60, and free returns within 28 days
  • Stocked by Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline, with Specialist Sports as its golf distribution partner since September 2025

Cons:

  • No women's golf clothing
  • No exchanges, only refunds, and sizes stop at 2XL
  • No waterproofs: Castore says the ProTek finish on its LVS Jacket helps against "light drizzle"

Verdict:

Castore fixes Cutter & Buck's access problem outright, with pounds, UK delivery and free returns. The cut is sharper and more athletic than Cutter & Buck's regular-fit classics. The 2XL ceiling is the big trade-off for golfers who rely on Cutter & Buck's big and tall sizing.

Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk

Key Features:

  • A UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds, selling four garments in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
  • Tees in 100% cotton at 305gsm, relaxed fit, S–2XL, £24.99–£30.99, in five colourways per design
  • Hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, £45.99–£54.99
  • Sweatshirts at 400gsm, £37.99–£47.99, and long-sleeve tees at 305gsm, £28.99–£35.99

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery
  • Tees from £24.99 and hoodies from £45.99, against Cutter & Buck's $75 (about £58) Adapt hooded pullover in the US
  • Heavyweight hoodies and sweatshirts for the clubhouse and the drive home

Cons:

  • No polos, trousers or outerwear, so clubs with a collared-shirt dress code mean buying a polo elsewhere
  • Cotton streetwear, not technical kit: no wicking, stretch or weather claims
  • Returns within 14 days of delivery, emailing support first, with return postage at the customer's cost

Verdict:

Cutter & Buck's whole pitch is work-to-weekend versatility, and Three Putt only makes the weekend half. That makes it a partial answer rather than a replacement. It earns its place because that half is easy to buy in Britain, priced in pounds with free UK delivery.

Fairway & Greene: Best for classic American polos and layers

Available on: fairwayandgreene.com

Key Features:

  • An American golf brand in the Summit Golf Brands group, alongside sister brands B.Draddy and Zero Restriction
  • Cutaway-collar polos in 88/12 poly-spandex with a memory-wire collar, plus nine Made in the USA styles
  • Zegna Baruffa merino windsweaters, including the £314 Commodore added in September 2026
  • Official staff uniform supplier to the PGA of America since 2025, and Sepp Straka signed in January 2026

Pros:

  • UK visitors see prices in pounds, with men's polos at £65–£84 in October 2026 before VAT
  • A full ladies' line of polos, skorts and layers
  • The polished, classic look of Cutter & Buck's smarter pieces

Cons:

  • VAT comes on top of the displayed prices, and the UK delivery fee isn't published
  • UK returns and exchanges are accepted, but you pay the return postage to the US
  • No trousers, waterproofs or caps, and only one style of shorts

Verdict:

Fairway & Greene sits closest to Cutter & Buck's smarter, more classic pieces, and it will at least ship to Britain. The catch is that VAT comes on top of its prices, and a UK return means paying the postage to the US. With no trousers or outerwear, it covers the top half of the wardrobe only.

Quick Comparison Grid

Brand Best For Price Range Sustainability
Cutter & Buck Work-to-weekend golfwear in the US ££ Moderate (GRS-certified recycled polyester on Eco lines; amfori BSCI and Fair Labor Association partner)
Ping Apparel A full golf range sold direct in pounds ££ Low (recycled polyester on items such as the Lindum polo; no brand-wide programme)
Reflo Recycled-fabric performance wear ££–£££ High (42–100% recycled content by garment; certifications not named on site)
Stromberg A complete kit at high street prices £ Low (recycled polyester on some lines, such as the Knebworth polo)
Abacus Swedish-engineered waterproofs via UK stockists £££ Low (PFC-free rainwear; recycled polyester in many polos and wind layers)
Castore Athletic British golfwear with free UK returns ££ Low (no published environmental programme for golf)
Three Putt Golf Golf streetwear off the course ££ No recycled-content or eco claims; tees are 100% cotton
Fairway & Greene Classic American polos and layers £££ Low (group-level aims only; no certifications or figures for the brand)

Summary

Cutter & Buck is a frustrating brand for a British golfer, and the frustration is fair. The fabrics are proven, the sizing is broad and the GRS-certified recycled polyester is easy to check on its product pages.

It just won't sell you the shirt. The US store ships within the United States only, the European site has no prices or checkout, and UK golf shops carry next to nothing. Amazon UK listings are the realistic route, and size and seller vary by listing.

The alternatives divide by what you were after. Ping and Stromberg give you the same broad, sensible wardrobe with British distribution behind it. Castore adds an athletic cut and free returns. Abacus is the rain specialist. Reflo leans hardest into recycled fabric. Fairway & Greene gives you the classic American look, with VAT on top and return postage on you. Three Putt covers the casual end.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cutter & Buck

What is Cutter & Buck known for?

Cutter & Buck is known for versatile golf and lifestyle sportswear from Seattle, built to work for golf, the office and travel. It is also a major corporate logowear supplier through its CBCorporate arm. It runs licensed fan shops for American sports leagues and makes official collections for championships, including the 2026 U.S. Open and PGA Championship.

Who owns Cutter & Buck?

Cutter & Buck has been owned by New Wave Group, the Swedish clothing and promotional products group, since 2007. The deal was worth $156.5 million in cash. The brand was founded in Seattle in 1989 by Harvey Jones and Joey Rodolfo. Its sister brands in North America include Craft Sportswear and Orrefors Crystal.

Does Cutter & Buck ship to the UK?

No. In October 2026, its shipping page said that "international delivery is not available", and the country changer offered only the US and Canada. Its European site, cutterbuck.eu, works as a catalogue with no prices or checkout. Cutter & Buck's international contact list sends UK enquiries to United Brands, a trade distributor.

Where can I buy Cutter & Buck in the UK?

Amazon UK is the main route, with Cutter & Buck polos listed by various sellers, so sizes, colours and prices vary. Specialist golf retailers carry very little. In October 2026, County Golf and Golfbase showed no Cutter & Buck clothing, and Eureka Golf listed only winter mittens. Companies wanting branded kit can go through United Brands.

How much does Cutter & Buck cost?

Cutter & Buck is mid-priced in the US. In October 2026 the Adapt quarter-zip and Adapt hooded pullover were $75 (about £58), and Bainbridge flat-front trousers listed at $120 (about £92). Free US ground shipping starts at $75. None of that helps a UK buyer directly, because the US store won't ship here.

Is Cutter & Buck a sustainable brand?

More than many golf brands, though the detail is on product pages. The Virtue polo is 95% recycled polyester, with GRS-certified content. The brand partners with amfori BSCI and the Fair Labor Association, ships by sea rather than air, and uses recycled polybags. Its sustainability page talks about "certified recycled materials" but doesn't name GRS or set dated targets.

How does Cutter & Buck clothing fit?

Cutter & Buck's regular fit is cut true to size, sitting away from the body without being oversized. Some styles also come in a closer Tailored Fit version. A dedicated big and tall department goes well beyond standard sizes, and there is a full women's range. Size charts give chest, waist and sleeve measurements for every size.

What is the Cutter & Buck Tour?

The Cutter & Buck Tour is the Swedish Golf Federation's men's professional tour, renamed after Cutter & Buck took the title sponsorship from the 2024 season. Cutter & Buck's European site calls it the highest level of men's pro golf in the Nordics. It shows how strong the brand's European presence is, even though UK shoppers can't buy direct.
