7 Best Levelwear Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Exploring the brands golfers turn to when an Englishman wins a major in clothing England cannot buy.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Top Picks

  1. Castore: Best overall alternative for athletic British golfwear
  2. Ping Apparel: Best for a full men's, women's and junior range in UK golf shops
  3. Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric performance wear from a UK brand
  4. Stromberg: Best for value performance kit on British shelves
  5. Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course
  6. Antigua: Best for team-wear polos in sizes up to 5X
  7. Cutter & Buck: Best for certified recycled polos and big and tall sizes

Why People Look Beyond Levelwear

UK golfers look beyond Levelwear because they can't buy it here. Its US store delivers only to US addresses, and its Canadian store only to Canada and the US. There is no UK site, no pricing in pounds and, in October 2026, no Levelwear at the main British golf retailers.

The timing makes that hard to swallow. Two Levelwear ambassadors won majors in 2026. Aaron Rai, who had worn the brand for four years, won the PGA Championship at Aronimink in May, the first Englishman to lift the Wanamaker Trophy since Jim Barnes in 1919. Ryan Fox then won The Open at Royal Birkdale in July.

Levelwear is a family-owned Canadian company from Richmond Hill, Ontario, that dates itself to 1987. It sits under the Accolade Group, with Hester Ngo as chief executive. Alongside golf it runs a big licensed fan business, and an NFL licence in August 2026 joined MLB, the NHL, the NBA, US Soccer and the CFL.

The golf range is properly built. Most full-price polos cost $70–$90 (about £54–£69), the Versa polo is 91% recycled polyester and the $175 Repel jacket is a fully taped 15k/15k waterproof. The women's line runs to skorts and dresses. Golf.com quoted Adam Hadwin calling it "some of the highest quality on Tour".

The gaps go beyond postage. Men's golf tops stop at XXL, sale items are final sale, and the returns pages disagree: 60 days from order on one, 30 days from shipping on the refund policy linked at checkout. New Zealand gained an exclusive distributor in April 2026, RS Golf, co-founded by Fox. Britain has no equivalent, so here are seven alternatives you can actually get hold of.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand

Castore: Best overall alternative for athletic British golfwear

Available on: castore.com · Read our full Castore review

Key Features:

  • A British sportswear brand founded by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, whose first golf collection launched in April 2019
  • Named fabrics: AerTek wicking, ProTek water-repellent finishes and OTek odour protection on some polos
  • LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club wears it under a multi-year deal, with Westwood, Poulter, Horsfield and Canter on the 2026 team
  • A Castore x Paul Smith golf capsule sits alongside the core range

Pros:

  • A £48 Essential polo and £65 golf trousers in October 2026, priced in pounds rather than dollars
  • £3.95 UK delivery, free over £60, and free returns within 28 days
  • Stocked by Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline as well as sold direct
  • A 4.5 Trustpilot score from 10,672 reviews for castore.com in October 2026, where Levelwear's profile has none

Cons:

  • No women's golf clothing, where Levelwear has a deep women's line
  • No exchanges, only refunds, and sizes stop at 2XL
  • No waterproofs: Castore says the ProTek finish on its LVS Jacket helps against "light drizzle"

Verdict:

Castore is the closest British match for Levelwear's athletic, tour-backed polo, and its £48 Essential polo undercuts a typical Levelwear polo even before import charges. You order it in pounds and send it back free. The missing women's range and the 2XL ceiling are where Levelwear still wins.

Ping Apparel: Best for a full men's, women's and junior range in UK golf shops

Available on: pingeurope.com · Read our full Ping Apparel review

Key Features:

  • Family-owned since Karsten and Louise Solheim founded PING in 1959, with a European clothing range sold direct in pounds
  • Polos at £45–£65, trousers at £55–£100 and waterproof jackets at £150–£300 on pingeurope.com in October 2026
  • The AW26 AquaDrive Pro jacket (£300) is rated 30,000mm, and AquaDrive Pro and SensorDry 2.5 pieces carry a five-year limited warranty
  • Men's tops XS–3XL on core styles, women's sizes 6–20 and junior pieces for ages 7–12

Pros:

  • Free UK delivery over £50, and stocked by American Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline
  • A women's and junior offer to match Levelwear's breadth, sold in Britain
  • Trousers in four cuts and four leg lengths, from 30 to 44 inch waists
  • Tour credibility as the maker of Team Europe's 2026 Solheim Cup kit

Cons:

  • Returns within 14 days only, posted back at your own cost
  • No exchange route is set out in its returns terms
  • Recycled fabric appears item by item, such as the recycled-polyester Lindum polo, rather than as a programme

Verdict:

Ping is the British pro-shop staple, with the same broad, sensible mid-market range Levelwear sells in North America. Its polos cost about what Levelwear's would after conversion, without the forwarding fees. The short returns window is the weak spot.

Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric performance wear from a UK brand

Available on: reflo.com · Read our full Reflo review

Key Features:

  • A UK performance-wear brand founded in 2021 by Rory MacFadyen and Peter Philippou
  • Recycled content runs from 42% to 100% depending on the garment, and labels give the split
  • England captain Harry Kane led its 2024 seed round and is its global brand ambassador
  • Licensed by The R&A for Open Championship capsule collections in 2025 and 2026

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery over £70 and free UK returns and exchanges within 30 days
  • Polos at £49–£79 in October 2026, close to Levelwear's typical polo once converted
  • Core sizes XS–3XL, one size beyond Levelwear's men's XXL
  • Recycled fabric runs through the whole range, not just one or two styles

Cons:

  • No women's golf range, against Levelwear's full one
  • Certifications aren't named on its site, which says only that its fabrics "adhere to multiple sustainability certifications"
  • International ordering is suspended, and support is email-only on weekdays

Verdict:

If Levelwear's recycled Versa polo caught your eye, Reflo builds a whole brand around recycled fabric and delivers it free in the UK. Neither brand names a certification on its own site. The missing women's range is the clear gap.

Stromberg: Best for value performance kit on British shelves

Available on: americangolf.co.uk · Read our full Stromberg review

Key Features:

  • A British golf brand owned by American Golf since September 2019 and sold almost entirely through its stores and website
  • Men's polos at £29.99–£49.99 and Hampton trousers at £49.99 in October 2026
  • The £99.99 Bandit waterproof jacket is rated 20,000mm
  • DP World Tour winner Andy Sullivan signed a two-year deal in January 2026, and Stromberg is official apparel partner of the Clutch Pro Tour

Pros:

  • Polos from £29.99, roughly half the converted price of a typical Levelwear polo
  • A wide size run: many men's lines go S–5XL, trousers come in 30–46 inch waists, and ladies' sizes run 8–20
  • Around 80 American Golf stores to try things on, with free in-store returns and free UK delivery over £50
  • Weather Tech trousers held 4.6 from 529 Trustpilot product reviews on American Golf in October 2026

Cons:

  • Effectively one retailer, because the brand has no shop of its own
  • Postal returns are at your own cost unless the item is faulty
  • Functional design rather than Levelwear's sharper athletic styling

Verdict:

Stromberg is the value landing spot: performance basics and proper waterproofs in shops you can walk into, for well under Levelwear money. It goes far bigger on sizes too. What it lacks is Levelwear's style and tour glamour.

Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk · Read our full Levelwear vs Three Putt comparison

Key Features:

  • A UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds, selling four garments in six graphic designs: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
  • Tees in 100% cotton at 305gsm, relaxed fit, S–2XL, £24.99–£30.99, in five colourways per design
  • Hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, £45.99–£54.99
  • Sweatshirts at 400gsm, £37.99–£47.99, and long-sleeve tees at 305gsm, £28.99–£35.99

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery
  • Hoodies from £45.99, against Levelwear's $110 (about £85) Luxe Signature hoodie in the US
  • Heavyweight hoodies and sweatshirts for the clubhouse and the drive home

Cons:

  • No polos, trousers or outerwear, so clubs with a collared-shirt dress code mean buying a polo elsewhere
  • Cotton streetwear, not technical kit: no wicking, stretch or weather claims
  • Returns within 14 days of delivery, emailing support first, with return postage at the customer's cost

Verdict:

Levelwear dresses the round, and Three Putt dresses the clubhouse afterwards. That makes it a partial answer rather than a replacement, which is why it sits fifth. It earns its place because it actually arrives, priced in pounds with free UK delivery.

Antigua: Best for team-wear polos in sizes up to 5X

Available on: antiguaapparelshop.com · Read our full Antigua review

Key Features:

  • Started by Tom Dooley in a Scottsdale garage in 1976, renamed Antigua in 1979 and run from Peoria, Arizona
  • Golf polos and quarter-zips alongside licensed ranges for the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, TGL and Premier League clubs
  • Men's polos at $40–$70 (about £31–£54), with Fall 26 golf polos at $65 in Desert Dry stretch jersey with UPF 50+
  • Team Antigua lists LPGA players Stacy Lewis, Lizette Salas, Allisen Corpuz and Lauren Coughlin

Pros:

  • The longest-running version of Levelwear's golf-plus-licensing model
  • Core Essentials polos run S–5X, where Levelwear's men's golf tops stop at XXL
  • Entry polos at $40 undercut Levelwear's $55 Original Polo
  • A Fair Labor Association participant with a published supplier list

Cons:

  • Its own store ships only to US addresses, and no UK golf retailer listed it in October 2026
  • The one UK route is TGL team gear through the Fanatics-run TGL shop, not the golf range
  • No men's golf trousers or shorts, no dedicated rain jacket and no Trustpilot profile

Verdict:

Antigua is Levelwear's older mirror: golf polos plus team licences, with fifty years behind it. It beats Levelwear on big sizes and entry price, but its golf range is just as hard to buy from Britain. Only its TGL team gear ships here, so it sits sixth.

Cutter & Buck: Best for certified recycled polos and big and tall sizes

Available on: cutterbuck.com · Read our full Cutter & Buck review

Key Features:

  • Founded on Seattle's waterfront in 1989 by Harvey Jones and Joey Rodolfo, and owned by Sweden's New Wave Group since 2007
  • Official collections for the 2026 U.S. Open and the 2026 PGA Championship
  • The Virtue polo is 95% recycled polyester, with GRS-certified recycled content
  • Title sponsor of the Swedish Golf Federation's men's tour, the Cutter & Buck Tour, since 2024

Pros:

  • Certified recycled content, which Levelwear's recycled styles don't carry
  • A dedicated big and tall department, where Levelwear's men's tops stop at XXL
  • amfori BSCI and Fair Labor Association partnerships behind the supply chain
  • Polos turn up on Amazon UK from various sellers, so there is at least one route in

Cons:

  • Its US shipping page says "international delivery is not available"
  • Its European site, cutterbuck.eu, is a catalogue with no prices or checkout
  • Classic work-to-weekend styling rather than Levelwear's athletic tour cut

Verdict:

Cutter & Buck is Levelwear's closest North American rival, and it even made the official collection for the PGA Championship that Rai won. It beats Levelwear on certified recycled fabric and big and tall sizing. Like Levelwear, though, it won't ship to Britain, which is why it sits last.

Quick Comparison Grid

Brand Best For Price Range Sustainability
Levelwear Tour-worn performance golfwear in North America ££ Low (recycled polyester in the Versa polo and Luxe range; 8 million+ polybags cut since 2020; no third-party certification)
Castore Athletic British golfwear ££ Low (no published environmental programme for golf)
Ping Apparel A full range in UK golf shops ££ Low (recycled polyester on items such as the Lindum polo; no brand-wide programme)
Reflo Recycled-fabric performance wear ££–£££ High (42–100% recycled content by garment; certifications not named on site)
Stromberg Value performance kit on British shelves £ Low (recycled polyester on some lines, such as the Knebworth polo)
Three Putt Golf Golf streetwear off the course ££ No recycled-content or eco claims; tees are 100% cotton
Antigua Team-wear polos in sizes up to 5X £–££ Low (Fair Labor Association participant with a published supplier list; no recycled content stated)
Cutter & Buck Certified recycled polos and big and tall sizes ££ Moderate (GRS-certified recycled polyester in the Virtue polo; amfori BSCI and Fair Labor Association partner)

Summary

Levelwear had the kind of year most golf brands dream about. Its ambassadors won the PGA Championship and The Open, and its NFL licence completed a full set of North American leagues. The polos are fairly priced, the women's range is deep and the waterproofs carry real ratings.

None of that reaches a British address. The US store ships within the US, the Canadian store to Canada and the US, and UK golf shops don't stock it. Add contradictory returns pages and final-sale markdowns, and a forwarder is a gamble.

The alternatives split by what drew you in. Castore gives you the athletic tour polo in pounds with free returns. Ping matches Levelwear's men's, women's and junior breadth through UK golf shops. Reflo leans hardest into recycled fabric, and Stromberg puts value kit on a shelf near you. Antigua and Cutter & Buck are the North American mirrors, with bigger sizes but the same postage problem. Three Putt covers the clubhouse.

For the rest of the maple-leaf scene, our guide to Canadian golf brands covers the wider field.

Frequently Asked Questions About Levelwear

Who owns Levelwear?

Levelwear is a family-owned Canadian company that dates itself to 1987. It sits under the Accolade Group and is based in Richmond Hill, Ontario, just north of Toronto. Hester Ngo is chief executive. Alongside golf, it runs a large licensed business covering the NFL, MLB, the NHL, the NBA, US Soccer and the CFL, plus U.S. Open and TGL apparel.

Who wears Levelwear on tour?

Its athletes page lists 27 tour players. Headliners are Englishman Aaron Rai, the 2026 PGA champion, and New Zealand's Ryan Fox, who won The Open at Royal Birkdale in July 2026. Canadians Corey Conners, Adam Hadwin and Taylor Pendrith are on the roster too, with LPGA players Carlota Ciganda and Ashleigh Buhai and DP World Tour regulars Paul Waring and Aaron Cockerill.

Does Levelwear ship to the UK?

No. The US store ships only to US addresses, and the Canadian store ships to Canada and the continental US. There's no UK store and no pricing in pounds. A UK buyer would need a parcel forwarder, then pay UK import VAT, and possibly duty, on arrival. Returns from the UK would be just as awkward.

Can I buy Levelwear in a UK golf shop?

Not from the main retailers. American Golf, Scottsdale Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline listed no Levelwear at the start of October 2026. Outside North America, New Zealand has an exclusive distributor, RS Golf, set up in April 2026 by Ryan Fox and Sam Sullivan. For a Canadian brand you can buy in pounds, Lululemon has UK stores.

Is Levelwear good quality?

The evidence is positive but thin. Golf.com quoted Adam Hadwin calling it "some of the highest quality on Tour", and its bestsellers score 4.56–5/5 on its own site from a few dozen reviews. The levelwear.com Trustpilot profile is unclaimed with no reviews, so there's no independent consumer score. Follow the care labels, as one buyer reported polos shrinking.

Is Levelwear sustainable?

Partly. The Versa polo is 91% recycled polyester, the unisex Luxe range uses 50% recycled polyester, and the brand reports more than 8 million polybags cut since 2020. It also favours ocean and rail freight over air. There's no third-party certification, though, and its sustainability page still refers to 2024 targets.

What is Levelwear's return policy?

Its pages disagree. The returns page allows 60 days from order, but the refund policy linked at checkout says 30 days from shipping, so plan on 30. Items must be unworn and tagged, you pay return postage, and all sale items are final sale. The terms apply to US and Canadian orders only.

What is Levelwear's licensed sports business?

It's the other half of the company. On 6 August 2026 Levelwear added an NFL licence, launched with a collection called Beyond Sunday, to its MLB, NHL, NBA, US Soccer and CFL deals. Hester Ngo said the brand "now stands with fans in every major league across North America". The golf side adds official U.S. Open and TGL apparel.
