7 Best Swannies Golf Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Updated on: October 1, 2026

Exploring the brands UK golfers turn to when Swannies' laid-back American golfwear proves awkward to buy from Britain.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Top Picks

  1. Rhoback: Best overall alternative for UK buyers
  2. Lululemon Golf: Best for premium performance you can try on in a UK store
  3. Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course
  4. Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric golfwear from a UK brand
  5. Birddogs: Best for lined shorts and chinos
  6. Quiet Golf: Best for understated, fashion-led polos
  7. Breezy Golf: Best for creator-brand golfwear with a UK distributor

Why People Look Beyond Swannies

UK golfers look beyond Swannies because buying it from Britain is awkward. Its own store publishes no international shipping rates or duty terms, and it doesn't take returns or exchanges on non-US orders. In October 2026 the St Andrews Links shop stocked six Swannies items, including a £95 polo.

Swannies is a Minnesota golf brand founded by University of Minnesota classmates Matt Stang and Adam Iversen. It began in August 2015 as a Kickstarter for a soft-spiked golf sandal that never caught on, then showed its first apparel at the PGA Merchandise Show in January 2017. Stang has said sales took five years to reach $1 million, then grew to nearly $30 million over the next five.

The range is broad. In October 2026 its store listed 429 products across men's, women's and juniors' clothing, plus licensed college ranges. Core men's polos mostly cost $65–$85, Mulligan joggers $99 and hoodies start at $89. Thousands of golf courses and shops in the US and Canada stock it, and since 2025 it has been the official apparel partner of RangeGoats GC, Bubba Watson's LIV Golf team.

The gaps are about buying, not the clothes. The country selector shows UK visitors prices in pounds, but free shipping is for US orders only. The help page says Swannies is "unable to process returns or exchanges for international (non-U.S.) orders". The St Andrews Links shop gives you a UK returns route, at a price: its Harvey and Rivera quarter-zips cost £130, against $109 (about £84) on swannies.co. The range also has no tailored trousers or waterproofs.

Here are seven alternatives, ranked by how much of the Swannies appeal survives the trip to a UK postcode.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand

Rhoback: Best overall alternative for UK buyers

Available on: rhoback.com · Read our full Rhoback review

Key Features:

  • Founded in 2016 in Charlottesville, Virginia, by Kevin Hubbard and Kristina and Matthew Loftus
  • Revenue passed $150 million in 2025, and CHAMP took a minority stake of nearly $50 million in June 2026
  • Performance polos in 92% polyester and 8% spandex, with UPF 40–50+ and sizes S–3XL
  • A UK storefront priced in pounds, with polos at £73–£82 and Q-Zips at £98–£113 in October 2026

Pros:

  • Flat $24 (about £18) international shipping, with customs and VAT calculated at checkout, according to its help centre in October 2026
  • International returns are possible at your own postage cost, where Swannies' own store won't take them at all
  • The same American college-and-clubhouse look, with licensed college ranges like Swannies' own
  • Polos and Q-Zips cover the on-course half of a Swannies wardrobe closely, and there's a women's range too

Cons:

  • Polos at £73–£82 cost more than Swannies' core $65–$85 (about £50–£65) direct
  • Return postage to the US is on you, as Rhoback issues no return labels outside the US
  • No sustainability certifications or recycled-fabric programme published

Verdict:

Rhoback is the closest like-for-like swap: an American polo-and-layers brand with the UK logistics thought through. You pay a little more per polo, but you see the price in pounds and the shipping cost up front. Unlike an order from Swannies direct, a wrong size can at least go back.

Lululemon Golf: Best for premium performance you can try on in a UK store

Available on: lululemon.co.uk · Read our full Lululemon Golf review

Key Features:

  • A dedicated golf line since spring 2022, with men's and women's ranges on the UK site
  • Men's golf polos at £78–£88 and golf trousers at £118–£138 in October 2026
  • Warpstreme ABC trousers, ShowZero polos and a £168 waterproof golf trouser
  • PGA Tour ambassadors Min Woo Lee (signed 2024) and Max Homa (2025)

Pros:

  • More than 20 UK stores, free delivery over £50 and free 30-day online returns
  • Tailored golf trousers and waterproofs, two things Swannies doesn't make
  • A deep women's golf range, including skirts and a polo dress
  • Free trouser hemming in its stores

Cons:

  • Polos at £78–£88 cost well above Swannies' core $65–$85 (about £50–£65) direct
  • In 2025 it dropped its single-use plastic target and cut its 2030 preferred-materials goal from 100% to 90%
  • The wider brand's UK Trustpilot score stood at 1.9 in July 2026, with complaints about slow refunds

Verdict:

Lululemon replaces the practical half of the Swannies wardrobe with better trousers, real waterproofs and shops you can walk into. It costs more and has none of Swannies' small-brand charm. For a UK golfer who values easy returns, that trade is often worth making.

Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk · Read our full Swannies vs Three Putt comparison

Key Features:

  • A UK golf streetwear brand based in Leeds, selling six graphic designs across its streetwear: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
  • Tees in 100% cotton at 305gsm, relaxed fit, S–2XL, £24.99–£30.99, in five colourways per design
  • Hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), oversized drop-shoulder fit, S–2XL, £45.99–£54.99
  • Sweatshirts in 400gsm cotton at £37.99–£47.99, and long-sleeve tees at 305gsm for £28.99–£35.99

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery
  • Hoodies from £45.99, against $89 and up for a Swannies hoodie direct or £130 for a Swannies quarter-zip at St Andrews
  • A UK returns route within 14 days of delivery, where Swannies' own store takes no international returns
  • The same relaxed attitude to golf, in heavyweight tees, sweatshirts and hoodies

Cons:

  • No performance polos, trousers or outerwear, so the rest of your golf kit comes from elsewhere
  • Cotton streetwear, not technical kit: no wicking, stretch or weather claims
  • Returns within 14 days of delivery, emailing support first, with return postage at the customer's cost

Verdict:

Swannies is a polo brand at heart, and polos are the one thing you won't find here, which is why this sits third. What it does cover is the hoodie, sweatshirt and tee side of a Swannies order, priced in pounds with free UK delivery. There's no women's-specific range and sizes start at S, so it won't dress the whole family.

Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric golfwear from a UK brand

Available on: reflo.com · Read our full Reflo review

Key Features:

  • A UK performancewear brand founded in 2021 by Rory MacFadyen and Peter Philippou
  • Recycled content of 42–100%, stated garment by garment on its labels
  • Polos at £49–£79, Sidra chinos at £89 and Brembo trousers at £99 in October 2026
  • Harry Kane led its 2024 seed round and is its global brand ambassador, and it makes an Open capsule licensed by The R&A

Pros:

  • Priced in pounds, with free UK delivery over £70 and free UK returns within 30 days
  • Recycled content is shown per garment, where Swannies gives one range-wide figure of 50–60%
  • Proper chinos and trousers, which Swannies doesn't make
  • Gilets and lightweight jackets for spring and autumn rounds

Cons:

  • No women's golf range, where Swannies has a full one
  • No sustainability certification named on its site, the same gap as Swannies
  • Trousers come in one leg length, and support is by email on weekdays only

Verdict:

If REPREVE was what drew you to Swannies, Reflo pushes the recycled story further and labels it garment by garment. It sells in pounds and takes UK returns for free. What it can't do is dress the family, as there's no women's golf range.

Birddogs: Best for lined shorts and chinos

Available on: birddogs.com · Read our full Birddogs review

Key Features:

  • A New York brand founded by Peter Baldwin and Chris Mason, who left Shark Tank without a deal in 2017
  • Built on shorts with a sewn-in liner, now optional on its golf shorts and 3-in-1 khaki shorts
  • NoFlop golf polos at $99, 3-in-1 shorts from $78 and GHØST chinos at $128 in October 2026
  • Polos, quarter-zips and 3-in-1 shorts in sizes S–3XL

Pros:

  • Proper chinos and 5-pocket trousers at $128 (about £98), where Swannies has only joggers and shorts
  • Liner or no liner on the golf shorts, a comfort option Swannies doesn't offer
  • The same irreverent American attitude, with quarter-zips and hoodies to finish the outfit

Cons:

  • Its FAQ said in October 2026 that it doesn't accept international returns, the same catch as Swannies
  • Priced in dollars, with no published UK shipping rate or position on import charges
  • Men's only, with no women's or kids' range and no jackets or waterproofs

Verdict:

Birddogs fixes the bottoms gap in a Swannies wardrobe with real chinos and the liner option. It doesn't fix the UK buying problem, though, as prices are in dollars and international orders can't come back. Treat it as a summer buy for when you're sure of your size.

Quiet Golf: Best for understated, fashion-led polos

Available on: quietgolf.com · Read our full Quiet Golf review

Key Features:

  • Co-founded in 2021 by Christion Lennon, founder of Museum of Peace & Quiet, with brothers Raul and Diego Diaz
  • Based in Costa Mesa, California, where its flagship store opened in 2023, with a seed round led by Old Tom Capital in 2024
  • A tightly edited range led by Active pique and jersey polos and a Supima cotton polo
  • Collaborations include PUMA and the adidas Samba Golf shoe (October 2025)

Pros:

  • A UK storefront priced in pounds, with polos at £89–£97 and the Monterey hoodie at £115
  • Small flag and monogram branding, the opposite of Swannies' prints
  • Dutch stockist Bisque Golf listed Quiet Golf in October 2026 and includes the UK among its delivery countries

Cons:

  • The brand says it takes no responsibility for customs charges, so UK buyers should expect to pay them
  • Its two returns pages conflict: 14 days on one, 30 days with a 5% restocking fee on the other
  • No women's range, tops stop at XXL, and just one trouser and one short

Verdict:

Quiet Golf is the taste upgrade, trading Swannies' swans and prints for clean polos and small logos. Its polos cost noticeably more than Swannies' core styles, and the range is tiny. Buy it for the look, not for family coverage or easy returns.

Breezy Golf: Best for creator-brand golfwear with a UK distributor

Available on: breezygolf.com · cloud18golf.co.uk · Read our full Breezy Golf review

Key Features:

  • Launched in 2022 with Doing Things Media as the apparel brand of Bob Does Sports, the golf channel founded by Robby Berger
  • Most polos cost $89 direct, in 92% polyester with UPF 50+ sun protection
  • Co-branded collections for the WM Phoenix Open, THE PLAYERS, the U.S. Open and the TOUR Championship
  • Cloud 18 Golf is its official UK distributor

Pros:

  • Cloud 18 sold Breezy polos at £65, the Gimme hoodie at £75 and shorts at £45 in October 2026, with free UK delivery over £50 and 30-day returns
  • £65 polos in Britain, against £95 for a Swannies polo at the St Andrews Links shop
  • Polos and hoodies run to 5XL on breezygolf.com

Cons:

  • No women's line, where Swannies has a full one
  • No trousers, and only two shorts styles
  • No sustainability page or recycled-content claims

Verdict:

Breezy is the creator-brand buy that works properly in Britain: distributed here, priced in pounds and returnable. It dresses fewer people than Swannies and says nothing about materials. For a fun polo without the import worry, it's a sensible buy at the price.

Quick Comparison Grid

Brand Best For Price Range Sustainability
Swannies Golf Laid-back US golfwear for the whole family ££ Moderate (REPREVE in 50–60% of products by its own count; recycled packaging; no product certification named)
Rhoback The closest all-round swap, with sterling prices £££ None published (no certifications or recycled-fabric programme)
Lululemon Golf Premium performance you can try on in a UK store £££–££££ Moderate (published targets, some scaled back in 2025)
Three Putt Golf Golf streetwear for the clubhouse and off the course £–££ No recycled-content or eco claims; tees are 100% cotton
Reflo Recycled fabric from a UK brand, priced in pounds ££–£££ High (42–100% recycled polyester on labels; no certification named)
Birddogs Lined shorts and proper chinos £££ None published (no certifications or environmental programme)
Quiet Golf Understated polos with a fashion edge £££–££££ No recycled-content claims found; Supima cotton in some polos
Breezy Golf Creator-brand fun from a UK distributor ££ None found (no sustainability page or certifications)

Summary

Swannies is a genuinely complete casual golf brand. It has men's, women's and juniors' ranges, licensed college lines, a LIV Golf team kit deal and a flagship store, all at friendly American prices.

The trouble starts at the border. Order direct and there's no published UK shipping rate, no duty position and no international returns. Buy from the St Andrews Links shop instead and you get a UK returns route, but higher prices and a much smaller choice.

Rhoback is the closest swap, with sterling prices and a published shipping rate. Lululemon puts trousers and waterproofs in UK shops. Reflo takes the recycled story further, Birddogs fixes the bottoms gap, Quiet Golf adds polish and Breezy is distributed here properly. Three Putt covers the hoodies, sweatshirts and tees, with free UK delivery.

Most of these labels are American, so our guide to American golf brands is a useful next read.

Frequently Asked Questions About Swannies

Who founded Swannies?

Swannies was founded by Matt Stang and Adam Iversen, classmates at the University of Minnesota. It began in August 2015 as a Kickstarter for a soft-spiked golf sandal, which never caught on. The pair switched to clothing and showed their first apparel line at the PGA Merchandise Show in January 2017. The brand is named after their friend Sam Swanson, who drew the swan logo.

Does Swannies ship to the UK?

Its country selector shows UK visitors prices in pounds, but Swannies publishes no international shipping rates, delivery times or duty terms. Free shipping applies to US orders only. Its help page also says it can't process returns or exchanges on international orders. A UK order is effectively final, so be sure of your size before you buy.

Where can I buy Swannies in the UK?

The St Andrews Links online shop stocked six Swannies items in October 2026. They included the Cadence polo at £95, the Harvey and Rivera quarter-zips at £130 and junior polos at £55. Delivery to Great Britain costs £6, or nothing over £75, and returns are accepted within three months of purchase. Swannies itself won't handle returns on items bought from other retailers.

Is Swannies sustainable?

Partly, on its own account. Swannies says REPREVE recycled polyester goes into 50–60% of its products (its sustainability page gives both figures), and its Tanner polo is 100% recycled REPREVE. Packaging is recycled through EcoEnclose, and it funds VCS-certified carbon offset projects through Greenstory. No product certification for its clothing is named.

Does Swannies sponsor professional golfers?

Yes. Swannies became the official apparel partner of RangeGoats GC, Bubba Watson's LIV Golf team, in January 2025 under a multi-year deal. In October 2026 its store sold co-branded RangeGoats polos, hoodies, quarter-zips and hats for men and women. Pebble Beach and St Andrews are among the courses that stock the brand.

Does Swannies make women's and kids' golf clothing?

Yes, and it's one of the brand's strengths. The women's range covers polos in XS–XXL, layers, skorts and dresses. The junior boys' and girls' lines include polos, hoodies, tees, shorts, skorts, dresses and hats, mostly in sizes XS–XL, with a few polos from toddler sizes. Junior polos started at $49 in October 2026.

How does Swannies sizing run?

Swannies cuts athletic. Several product pages describe a close, athletic fit and suggest sizing up for a more relaxed one. Men's polos run S–XXL, with some styles to 3XL or 4XL, and women's polos run XS–XXL. Because direct international orders can't be returned or exchanged, UK buyers should check each product's fit note carefully.

What is the best Swannies alternative for UK golfers?

Rhoback is the best all-round swap, with sterling prices, a published shipping rate and a similar American look. Lululemon suits golfers who want to try kit on in a UK store and return it free. For off-course streetwear priced in pounds, Three Putt sells heavyweight hoodies, sweatshirts and tees with free UK delivery.
