How We Review Golf Clothing Brands
Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.
Top Picks
- Stromberg Golf: Best overall for a complete golf kit for less
- Castore Golf: Best for named fabric tech with free 28-day returns
- Lululemon Golf: Best for premium performance golfwear with UK stores
- ProQuip Golf: Best for waterproofs from a specialist
- Reflo: Best for recycled-fabric golf kit from a UK brand
- Röhnisch: Best for women's golf from a women's brand
- Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course
Why People Look Beyond Ping Apparel
Golfers look beyond Ping Apparel mainly for better buying terms. In October 2026, pingeurope.com gave 14 days to return a direct order, posted back at your own cost. Its styling is safe club golfwear, it sells no golf shoes, and its waterproof jackets cost £150–£300 at list price.
Ping Apparel is the clothing range run by PING Europe in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where more than 250 people work. It sells direct in pounds on pingeurope.com, with £5 delivery that's free over £50, and through UK golf shops. The range is built on PING's Sensor platform: SensorCool for warm days, SensorWarm for cold ones and SensorDry for rain.
It's a genuinely good range. Polos run £45–£65, and trousers come in four named cuts with 30–44 waists and four leg lengths. The new AW26 AquaDrive Pro jacket claims 30,000mm waterproofing, and AquaDrive Pro and SensorDry 2.5 pieces carry a five-year limited warranty. There are full women's and junior lines, and PING makes Team Europe's 2026 Solheim Cup kit.
The weak points are in how it sells. Direct orders must go back within 14 days of receipt, with tags on and postage paid by you. Neither the returns page nor the terms mention exchanges. Stockists such as American Golf and Function18 often sell below PING's list prices, so buying direct is rarely the cheapest route.
A few smaller gaps add up. Sustainability is handled item by item: the £45 Lindum polo is 100% recycled polyester, but there's no wider programme. Juniors get two styles, the Lindum polo and Ramsey mid-layer, for ages 7–12. And PING's US store is a much smaller range, so American reviews of "Ping apparel" don't describe what a UK buyer gets.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand
Stromberg Golf: Best Overall for a Complete Golf Kit for Less

Available on: americangolf.co.uk · Read our full Stromberg Golf review
Key Features:
- American Golf's in-house clothing brand since 2019, sold through its website and around 80 UK stores
- American Golf itself was bought by Peter Jones's investment group in February 2026
- Men's, ladies' and junior ranges, plus waterproofs, gilets, golf shoes and bags
- DP World Tour winner Andy Sullivan signed a two-year deal to wear it in January 2026
Pros:
- Men's polos at £29.99–£49.99 and Hampton trousers at £49.99, against Ping's £45–£65 polos and £55–£100 trousers at list price
- The £99.99 Bandit jacket is rated 20,000mm waterproof with fully taped seams, £50 less than Ping's standard AquaDrive jacket
- Sells golf shoes, which pingeurope.com doesn't, and junior kit for ages 7–14
- Online orders get 30 days for returns, and returns are free in American Golf stores
Cons:
- Effectively sold by one retailer, so you can't shop around for it
- Postal returns are at your own cost, as at Ping, and in-store purchases get only 14 days
- Its best waterproofs are rated 20,000mm, short of the 30,000mm Ping claims for the AquaDrive Pro
Verdict:
Stromberg covers almost every category Ping does, adds golf shoes, and costs noticeably less at list price, with around 80 stores to try things on. Ping keeps the edge on its flagship waterproof and its four trouser leg lengths. For most club golfers on a budget, the saving wins.
Castore Golf: Best for Named Fabric Tech with Free 28-Day Returns

Available on: castore.com · Read our full Castore Golf review
Key Features:
- Manchester-based premium sportswear brand started by brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, with its first golf collection in April 2019
- Named fabric tech: AerTek moisture-wicking, ProTek water-repellent finishes, OTek odour protection and the LVS layering range
- Dresses LIV Golf's Majesticks Golf Club and sells a Castore x Paul Smith golf capsule
- UK golf wholesale runs through Specialist Sports, under a multi-year deal that began with spring/summer 2026
Pros:
- Free returns on all orders within 28 days, twice Ping's window, with no postage to pay
- The £48 Essential polo and £65–£78 golf trousers sit level with Ping's £45–£65 polos and £55–£100 trousers
- £3.95 UK delivery, free over £60, sent from a UK warehouse
- A Trustpilot score of 4.5 from more than 10,000 reviews in October 2026, against three reviews for pingeurope.com
Cons:
- No women's golf clothing on castore.com in October 2026 and no junior golf range, where Ping has both
- Its golf jackets are water-resistant rather than waterproof, so nothing matches an AquaDrive suit
- No exchanges, and men's golf sizes stop at 2XL, where most Ping styles reach 3XL
Verdict:
Castore is the closest like-for-like swap on named fabric tech and everyday prices. Its free 28-day returns take the risk out of guessing a size. Ping pulls clearly ahead on rainwear and on women's and junior kit.
Lululemon Golf: Best for Premium Performance Golfwear with UK Stores

Available on: lululemon.co.uk · Read our full Lululemon Golf review
Key Features:
- Vancouver athleisure company whose "Designed for Golf" line has run since spring 2022
- Fabric tech carried over from its wider range: Warpstreme stretch in ABC trousers, ShowZero sweat-concealing polos and Silverescent anti-odour
- Separate men's and women's golf categories on its UK site, covering polos, trousers, shorts, skirts, layers and a waterproof jacket
- PGA Tour players Min Woo Lee and Max Homa lead its golf roster
Pros:
- Free returns within 30 days, against Ping's 14 days at your own cost
- More than 20 UK stores, with free delivery over £50
- Complimentary trouser hemming in its stores
- ABC golf trousers come in a choice of fits and three inseams
Cons:
- Far more expensive: men's polos were £78–£88, golf trousers £138 and the men's Waterproof Golf Jacket £228 in October 2026
- No golf shoes, gloves or headcovers, so it can't complete a kit either
- Headwear can't be returned, and nor can trousers once they've been hemmed
Verdict:
Lululemon is the upgrade if Ping's buying terms are the sticking point: free 30-day returns, real UK shops and free hemming. You pay much more for every piece, though. Ping's £150 AquaDrive jacket costs £78 less than Lululemon's men's waterproof.
ProQuip Golf: Best for Waterproofs from a Specialist

Available on: proquipgolf.net · Read our full ProQuip Golf review
Key Features:
- Golf weatherwear specialist founded in North Berwick in 1981, with its head office now in Carlisle
- ProQuip says it has supplied weatherwear to 20 Ryder Cup teams since 1983, more than any other clothing maker
- Hot-melt sealed seams and laminated waterproof fabrics, with a ProQuip-exclusive four-way stretch fabric on the stormFORCE PX series
- Rainwear in clear tiers from Tempest to stormFORCE PX, plus windproofs, mid-layers, polos, trousers and women's and juniors' ranges
Pros:
- A three-year waterproof guarantee on all its waterproofs, and lifetime cover on stormFORCE PX jackets and trousers
- The lifetime-backed PX9 jacket is £180 at full price, against £300 for Ping's AquaDrive Pro
- 30 days to return, more than twice Ping's window, with the same £5 delivery that's free over £50
- A Trustpilot score of 4.5 from 326 reviews in October 2026
Cons:
- Returns are at your own cost, as at Ping, and an exchange means buying again
- The PX9 product page gives no waterproof rating, where Ping quotes 30,000mm for the AquaDrive Pro
- A rain-first range: its polos, golf trousers and knitwear are basic next to Ping's
Verdict:
ProQuip treats rainwear as the whole business rather than one category, and its guarantees run longer than Ping's. It's also cheaper at the top of the range. Choose Ping if you want polos and trousers to match; choose ProQuip if staying dry is the priority.
Reflo: Best for Recycled-Fabric Golf Kit from a UK Brand

Available on: reflo.com · Read our full Reflo review
Key Features:
- British sustainable sportswear brand founded in 2021 by Rory MacFadyen and Peter Philippou
- Recycled polyester runs through its core golf garments, from 42% to 100% depending on the piece
- Officially licensed by The R&A for a second Open in 2026, with a capsule for Royal Birkdale
- England captain Harry Kane is its global brand ambassador and led its 2024 seed round
Pros:
- Recycled fabric is the point of the whole range, not one garment, and each product states its share
- Polos at £49–£79, close to Ping's £45–£65
- Free UK returns and exchanges within 30 days, and free delivery on orders over £70
Cons:
- No women's golf range, where Ping runs polos, skorts, dresses and waterproofs
- No fully waterproof golf jacket, so nothing to replace an AquaDrive
- Recycled content varies, with the £79 Tummel polo at 52%, and no certifications are named on its own pages
Verdict:
Reflo suits a golfer who wants recycled fabric across the whole wardrobe rather than in one Ping polo. Its returns terms are far kinder too. It only dresses men for golf, though, and it won't keep you dry in a downpour.
Röhnisch: Best for Women's Golf from a Women's Brand

Available on: rohnisch.com · Read our full Röhnisch review
Key Features:
- Swedish women-only sportswear brand founded in 1945, all-female since 2000 and making golf clothing since 2002
- Majority-owned by Swedish investment company Creades, which held 82% in mid-2026
- Its website features 2018 Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall as an ambassador
- Polos, knits, trousers, skorts, a dress, padded layers and Rain Shield rainwear, all cut for women
Pros:
- A women's golf range designed for women from the start, not run alongside a men's line
- Wide sizing: core tops run XXS–3XL and trousers EU 32–52, with the Chie trousers in two leg lengths
- A strong materials record: 94% of its AW24 products met its own preferred-materials criteria, and it has been fluorocarbon-free since 2015
- 30 days to return, more than twice Ping's 14, and size exchanges are free
Cons:
- UK delivery costs £12.90 by DHL Express Economy, with no free-delivery threshold listed
- £4.90 comes off your refund for a UK return, so you still pay to send things back
- Nothing for men or juniors, and its Rain Shield rainwear is sold as wind- and water-resistant rather than waterproof
Verdict:
Röhnisch is the specialist upgrade for the women's half of Ping's range, from a brand that has made women's golf clothing since 2002. Its polos run £55–£106, while Ping's women's polos start at £45. It does nothing for men or juniors, which keeps it sixth.
Three Putt Golf: Best for Golf Streetwear Off the Course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk · Read our full Ping vs Three Putt comparison
Key Features:
- Leeds-based UK golf streetwear brand selling tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies
- Six graphic designs across all four garments: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
- Tees in 305gsm, 100% cotton with a relaxed fit, S–2XL, in five colourways per design
- Oversized drop-shoulder hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), S–2XL, in four colourways per design
Pros:
- Tees at £24.99–£30.99 and hoodies at £45.99–£54.99, priced in pounds
- Free UK delivery, where Ping charges £5 on orders under £50
- 400gsm cotton crewneck sweatshirts (£37.99–£47.99) and oversized drop-shoulder 305gsm long-sleeve tees (£28.99–£35.99) for cooler days off the course
Cons:
- No polos, trousers, outerwear or women's-specific range, which is most of what Ping sells
- Cotton streetwear rather than technical kit, with no moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection
- Returns within 14 days of delivery: email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and you pay the return postage, much as at Ping
Verdict:
Three Putt covers the off-course end of a golfer's wardrobe: the hoodie in the car park and the tee at the bar. It can't dress you for the round, and golfers at clubs with a collared-shirt dress code will need a polo from elsewhere. It sits seventh because Ping is an on-course brand and this isn't.
Quick Comparison Grid
| Brand | Best For | Price Range | Sustainability |
| Ping Apparel | A complete on-course kit with named fabric tech and waterproofs | ££ | Item by item: the Lindum polo is 100% recycled polyester, with no wider programme |
| Stromberg Golf | A complete golf kit, including shoes, for less money | £ | Some recycled polyester (the Knebworth polo is 90%); no certification stated |
| Castore Golf | Named fabric tech with free 28-day returns | ££ | None stated on its golf product pages |
| Lululemon Golf | Premium performance golfwear you can buy in UK stores | £££ | Mixed: 77% recycled polyester in 2024, but its single-use plastic target was dropped in late 2025 |
| ProQuip Golf | Guaranteed waterproofs from a rain specialist | ££ | Low: recycled polyester and fluorocarbon-free finishes on ProPac-Lite; no certifications |
| Reflo | Recycled-fabric golf kit from a UK brand | ££ | High: 42–100% recycled polyester across core garments; no certifications named on its own pages |
| Röhnisch | Women's golf from a women's brand | £££ | High: 94% of AW24 products met its preferred-materials criteria; fluorocarbon-free since 2015 |
| Three Putt Golf | Golf streetwear for off the course | £–££ | No recycled-content or eco claims; tees are 100% cotton |
Summary
Ping makes some of the most sensible golf clothing sold in Britain. You get a real fabric platform, AquaDrive waterproofs backed by a five-year limited warranty on the Pro and SensorDry 2.5 pieces, trousers in four leg lengths, and full women's and junior lines. The weak points are the 14-day returns at your own cost, no golf shoes and safe styling.
Stromberg covers the same wardrobe for less and adds golf shoes, which is why it ranks first. Castore matches the named fabric tech with free 28-day returns. Lululemon makes buying easier at a much higher price. ProQuip specialises in rain and guarantees it for longer. Reflo builds its range around recycled fabric, and Röhnisch does women's golf properly.
Three Putt takes the off-course end, the hoodies and tees, with free UK delivery. If you stay with Ping, compare stockist prices before paying list price, and be sure of your size before ordering direct. For more rain-first options, see our guide to the best waterproof golf clothing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ping Apparel
Can you buy Ping apparel direct in the UK?
Yes. PING Europe sells direct at pingeurope.com in pounds, with VAT included, so there are no customs charges. UK delivery is £5, or free on orders over £50, and takes 3–5 working days, Monday to Friday only. American Golf, Function18, Clubhouse Golf and GolfOnline all listed Ping clothing in October 2026, and stockists often sell below PING's list prices.
What is Ping's returns policy?
For pingeurope.com orders, you have 14 days from receipt to return items unworn, with tags attached and in the original packaging. You pay the postage back to Gainsborough, and neither the returns page nor the terms describe exchanges. Separately, AquaDrive Pro and SensorDry 2.5 waterproofs carry a five-year limited warranty against defects, whether bought direct or from an authorised stockist.
What do SensorCool, SensorWarm and SensorDry do?
They are PING's three fabric families, grouped by job. SensorCool covers moisture-moving, quick-dry stretch polos for warm days. SensorWarm covers thermal, wind-resistant layers for cold ones. SensorDry is the fully seam-sealed waterproof tier, and its flagship AquaDrive Pro jacket claims 30,000mm waterproofing and 40,000 g/m² breathability.
How much does Ping apparel cost in the UK?
At list price on pingeurope.com in October 2026, men's polos were £45–£65, mid-layers and knitwear £55–£110, and trousers and shorts £55–£100. Waterproof jackets ran from £150 for the AquaDrive to £300 for the AquaDrive Pro, with over trousers at £100–£165. Caps were £25, and the Festive Mr. PING Christmas jumper was £50.
How does Ping clothing fit?
Tops are regular club fits, with the Lindum polo and Ramsey half-zip in XS–3XL and most other styles in S–3XL. Trousers come in four named cuts (regular, slim, tapered and Tour tapered), with 30–44 waists and 29, 31, 33 and 35-inch legs. Women's sizes run 6–20. Between sizes, PING suggests going up for a relaxed fit or down for a slimmer one.
Is Ping apparel sustainable?
Partly, and item by item rather than as a programme. The £45 Lindum polo is 100% recycled polyester, and PING's technology page names partly plant-based insulation and PrimaLoft fills. Beyond individual pieces, there's no wider sustainability programme to point to. Country of manufacture isn't stated on the product pages either.
Does Ping sell golf shoes?
No. In October 2026, pingeurope.com sold clothing, headwear, bags and accessories, including socks and a shoe bag, but no golf shoes. If you want one brand for shoes as well as clothing, Stromberg sells golf shoes through American Golf alongside its polos, trousers and waterproofs. Otherwise, you'll be pairing Ping clothing with another brand's footwear.
Is Ping apparel the same in the US and Europe?
No. PING Europe runs the full performance range: polos, mid-layers, knitwear, waterproofs, trousers and a women's line. In October 2026, PING's US store listed just 22 apparel items, mostly $35 tees, $65 hoodies and a handful of $89 polos. The AquaDrive waterproofs and most named polos are European-range pieces, so US reviews rarely describe what a UK buyer gets.
