7 Best Swing Out Sister Alternatives in 2026 | Ranked

Updated on: October 1, 2026

Exploring the brands women golfers turn to beyond Swing Out Sister's affordable, British take on ladies' golfwear.

How We Review Golf Clothing Brands

Every review on the Three Putt journal is written by Graeme Whiles, the founder of Three Putt Golf Clothing. As a competing brand, we have an obvious conflict of interest. We take this seriously and address it directly in our review methodology, which explains how we assess brands consistently regardless of whether they compete with us.

Top Picks

  1. Röhnisch: Best overall for rainwear and a checkable materials record
  2. Chervò: Best for premium Aqua-Block waterproofs
  3. Cross Sportswear: Best for Swedish stretch rainwear via a UK stockist
  4. Lululemon Golf: Best for technical fabrics with UK stores and free returns
  5. Stromberg Golf: Best for a budget ladies' kit with waterproofs
  6. Daily Sports: Best for a deep women-only range through UK retailers
  7. Three Putt Golf: Best for golf streetwear off the course

Why People Look Beyond Swing Out Sister

Women golfers mostly look beyond Swing Out Sister for wet-weather kit. In October 2026 the British brand sold no waterproof jacket or over-trousers, only wind tops, gilets and padded layers. Its sustainability policy lists commitments without certifications or targets, and none of the big UK golf chains stock it.

Swing Out Sister began as a pop-up, selling a handpicked mix of other labels' women's golf clothing at clubs and events. It launched its own range in 2016. Today it is run by Lucy Dickman from its HQ in Uckfield, East Sussex, under the line "Designed For Golf | Styled For Life".

The appeal is practical. Amelie polos cost £29.95, trousers, shorts and skorts come in UK 6–22, and tops run XS–3XL. Product pages flag one of three fits: slim, regular or comfort. UK delivery is free over £75 (£4 below), UK exchanges are free, and a refund return costs £4.50 for the label. A 13-piece men's capsule, Brother, arrived in spring 2026.

The gap is the weather. Outerwear runs to the Tamara and Panther wind tops, Cassia and Maria gilets, the Gabrielle bomber and the Patricia fleece jacket, topping out at £89.99. Its waterproof claims stop at the Goody Two Shoes golf shoes, the Carla winter boot, panels on the Matilda knit and the brushed Harper trouser fabric. Beyond that, the wet-weather offer is a £34.95 Star umbrella.

The other gaps are paperwork and reach. The sustainability page promises more recycled fabrics and is working towards recyclable packaging, but it names no certifications, percentages or dates. The brand does name Trish Johnson as an ambassador. Off its own site, though, GolfGarb and Eureka Golf list it online, while American Golf, Scottsdale Golf and Function18 don't.

Detailed Breakdown by Brand

Röhnisch: Best Overall for Rainwear and a Checkable Materials Record

Available on: rohnisch.com

Key Features:

  • Swedish women-only sportswear brand founded in 1945, all-female since 2000 and making golf clothing since 2002, under the line "for women, by women"
  • Majority-owned by Swedish investment company Creades, which held 82% in mid-2026
  • Its website features 2018 Women's British Open champion Georgia Hall as an ambassador
  • AW26 Rain Shield jacket (£175) and trousers (£125), rated 10,000mm and described by the brand as wind- and water-resistant

Pros:

  • A rain jacket and matching trousers, the category Swing Out Sister leaves empty
  • A strong materials record: 94% of its AW24 products met its own preferred-materials criteria, it targets 95% by 2030, and it has been fluorocarbon-free since 2015
  • Wide sizing: core tops run XXS–3XL, and trousers and skorts EU 32–52, which its own chart puts at up to a UK 24
  • Röhnisch covers import costs on UK orders over £135, and size exchanges are free

Cons:

  • Polos cost £55–£106 in October 2026, roughly double Swing Out Sister's £29.95 Amelie
  • UK delivery is £12.90 by DHL Express Economy with no free-delivery threshold listed, and £4.90 comes off a refund return
  • The Rain Shield pieces are sold as water-resistant rather than fully waterproof

Verdict:

Röhnisch answers both of Swing Out Sister's weak spots at once, with a rain layer and a materials record backed by its own published figures. It costs about twice as much for a polo, and delivery and refund returns aren't free. For a woman who wants one brand to cover most of the year, it's the strongest swap.

Chervò: Best for Premium Aqua-Block Waterproofs

Available on: chervo.com

Key Features:

  • Italian brand founded in 1982 by brothers Manfred and Peter Erlacher as a Dolomites ski label, moving into golf in the early 1990s
  • Aqua-Block waterproofs use a laminated membrane with taped seams, and Aqua-Block jackets and over-trousers are rated at over 20,000mm
  • A full women's range, including polos, dresses, skirts, jackets and waterproof trousers
  • An official Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup licensee, and Team Chervò's Jenny Shin won the 2026 Women's Scottish Open

Pros:

  • Rated waterproofs with real numbers behind them, the piece missing from a Swing Out Sister wardrobe
  • The UK site prices in pounds and shows UK sizes: women's polos UK 8–20 and waterproof trousers UK 6–20
  • Ski-derived fabric tech across the range, including Wind-Lock windproofing and Pro-Therm insulation

Cons:

  • Expensive: women's polos start at £115.31, and women's jackets ran £178.07–£339.95 in October 2026
  • A €65 return fee, and exchanges mean returning one item and reordering another
  • Duties are unclear: a site banner says they're included on UK shipments, but its terms say orders outside the EU travel duties-unpaid

Verdict:

Chervò brings the rated waterproof that Swing Out Sister doesn't make, wrapped in Italian tailoring and backed by a current women's tour winner. A polo costs nearly four times as much, women's sizes stop at UK 20, and the €65 return fee turns a wrong size into an expensive mistake. Know your size, and check the duty position before you pay.

Cross Sportswear: Best for Swedish Stretch Rainwear via a UK Stockist

Available on: ladiesonlinegolf.com · cross-sportswear.com (EU delivery only)

Key Features:

  • Founded in Gothenburg in 1986 by two golfers who wanted rainwear they could actually swing in
  • Built on its FTX membrane system; the Pro jacket is a two-layer, 4-way stretch shell rated 20,000mm, with taped seams
  • Women's Pro, Hurricane, X-Pro and Cloud rain gear, plus polos, Lux chinos, a pleated skort and a golf dress
  • The trademark was sold in October 2025 to a subsidiary of Sweden's Seagull-Eye Group, weeks before the old operating company went bankrupt

Pros:

  • Rainwear is the core of the business rather than an add-on, the exact opposite of Swing Out Sister
  • MyGolfSpy ranked Cross rain gear top in its tests three years running, from 2017 to 2019 (jointly in 2019)
  • Ladies Online Golf sells Cross women's pieces in pounds, with the women's Pro jacket at an RRP of £199.95
  • Women's sizes run XS–3XL, though the Pro and Hurricane rain gear stops at XXL

Cons:

  • The brand's own webshop doesn't deliver to the UK, so you're limited to a stockist's selection
  • Its 3-year waterproof warranty only covers rain gear bought from that webshop
  • No certifications: mostly recycled or recyclable polyester, but the best rain gear uses virgin polyester, and production is in China

Verdict:

Cross is the specialist answer: a Swedish brand that has built golf rainwear since 1986, with published ratings and test wins to show for it. For UK women the catch is access, because you buy whatever a stockist holds rather than the full range. For the one category Swing Out Sister skips, that can still be exactly the right buy.

Lululemon Golf: Best for Technical Fabrics with UK Stores and Free Returns

Available on: lululemon.co.uk · Read our full Lululemon Golf review

Key Features:

  • The Vancouver athleisure company's "Designed for Golf" line launched in spring 2022
  • The women's golf edit covers Quick-Dry polos in three sleeve lengths, box-pleat and pleated skirts, a sleeveless polo dress, golf trousers and layers
  • Built on its own fabric platforms, including Swiftly Tech knits and Nulu layers
  • Lydia Ko was the brand's LPGA ambassador from 2019 until around 2024

Pros:

  • More than 20 UK stores, free delivery over £50 and free returns within 30 days
  • Free trouser hemming in its stores, and a Quality Promise that repairs or replaces faulty gear beyond the return window
  • Named fabric platforms and golf-specific pieces, from Quick-Dry polos to stretch twill golf trousers

Cons:

  • Women's polos cost £58–£78, skirts £88–£108 and the golf dress £128 at full price in October 2026
  • No waterproof jacket in the women's golf edit in October 2026; the taped Waterproof Golf Jacket sits in the men's range
  • Headwear and hemmed or altered items can't be returned

Verdict:

Lululemon matches Swing Out Sister on convenience, with UK stores, free delivery over £50 and free returns, and adds sharper technical fabrics. It doesn't close the rain gap for women, and a skirt can cost well over Swing Out Sister's £62.95 Molly. The trade is polish for price.

Stromberg Golf: Best for a Budget Ladies' Kit with Waterproofs

Available on: americangolf.co.uk

Key Features:

  • American Golf's in-house British clothing brand since 2019, sold through its website and around 80 UK stores
  • American Golf itself was bought by Peter Jones's investment group in February 2026
  • Ladies' polos, trousers, skorts, gilets and waterproofs in sizes 8–20, alongside men's and junior ranges
  • The ladies' HydroPro jacket and trousers are rated 20,000mm waterproof and 10,000g breathable, with fully taped seams

Pros:

  • Ladies' polos cost £24.99–£34.99 at list price, level with or below Swing Out Sister's £29.95 Amelie
  • A rated waterproof suit for £129.98 at list: the HydroPro jacket is £69.99 and the trousers £59.99
  • Try on, collect and return free at around 80 American Golf stores, with £2.99 delivery that's free over £50

Cons:

  • Effectively a one-retailer brand, so you can't shop around
  • Ladies' sizes stop at 20, and some lines at 18, where Swing Out Sister's bottoms reach UK 22
  • Postal returns are at your own cost, in-store purchases get 14 days, and the styling is plain

Verdict:

Stromberg is the value answer that also keeps you dry, with a rated waterproof suit for under £130 and polos priced like Swing Out Sister's. Nobody buys it for the prints, and you're tied to one retailer. As a wet-weather add-on to a Swing Out Sister wardrobe, it makes a lot of sense.

Daily Sports: Best for a Deep Women-Only Range Through UK Retailers

Available on: ladiesonlinegolf.com · dailysports.com (no UK delivery)

Key Features:

  • Swedish brand making golf clothing only for women since 1995, founded by Elisabeth Skoghag and run by Ulrika Skoghag as CEO and owner
  • Built around the pull-on Magic trousers, in 29, 32 and 34-inch lengths plus straight-ankle, capri, shorts and skort versions
  • The Flaine rain jacket is rated 10,000mm, with fully taped seams and 100% recycled polyester
  • Defines a "sustainable garment" as at least 50% recycled or organic material, or a third-party certified fabric

Pros:

  • A proper rainwear line, the category Swing Out Sister lacks
  • Honest fit advice: its size guide says "Many customers find our bottoms run a little large"
  • Sold in pounds by UK stockists including Ladies Online Golf, Love Golf Clothes and GolfOnline, with Peoria polos at £44–£50 and Magic trousers at £89.95–£100

Cons:

  • The brand's own store doesn't deliver to the UK, so you buy on a stockist's prices and returns terms
  • Tops run XS–XXL with 3XL on only a few styles, and most bottoms stop at UK 20
  • UK stockists carry a narrower edit, often in fewer sizes, and the rain jackets list at 2,500–3,000 kr (about £188–£226) on the Swedish store

Verdict:

Daily Sports has made golf clothing only for women for over thirty years, and its range includes the rainwear Swing Out Sister skips. The catch is access: you can't buy from the brand, so you're limited to what a UK retailer stocks in your size. It suits a golfer who wants feminine cuts and will hunt for them.

Three Putt Golf: Best for Golf Streetwear Off the Course

Available on: threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk

Key Features:

  • Leeds-based UK golf streetwear brand selling tees, long-sleeve tees, sweatshirts and hoodies
  • Six graphic designs across all four garments: Contours, Happy Place, Tee Time, Reckless Driving, The Scenic Route and Three on the Green
  • Tees in 305gsm, 100% cotton with a relaxed fit, S–2XL, in five colourways per design
  • Oversized drop-shoulder hoodies at 430gsm (56% cotton, 44% polyester), S–2XL, in four colourways per design

Pros:

  • Tees at £24.99–£30.99 and 400gsm cotton crewneck sweatshirts at £37.99–£47.99, a similar spend to Swing Out Sister's fleeces and sweatshirts
  • Free UK delivery, where Swing Out Sister charges £4 on orders under £75
  • Oversized drop-shoulder 305gsm long-sleeve tees (£28.99–£35.99) and £45.99–£54.99 hoodies for cooler days off the course

Cons:

  • No women's-specific range or cut, and no polos, trousers or outerwear
  • Cotton streetwear rather than technical kit, with no moisture-wicking, stretch fabric or weather protection
  • Returns within 14 days of delivery: email support@threeputtgolfclothing.co.uk first, and you pay the return postage

Verdict:

Swing Out Sister exists to dress women for the round, and a streetwear brand with no women's range doesn't do that job. Three Putt earns a place only off the course, for a tee, sweatshirt or hoodie with a golf graphic and free UK delivery. Golfers at clubs with a collared-shirt dress code will need a polo from elsewhere, and none of this fixes the missing rain jacket.

Quick Comparison Grid

Brand Best For Price Range Sustainability
Swing Out Sister Affordable British women's golfwear in UK sizes ££ Commitments only: no certifications, percentages or dated targets
Röhnisch Rainwear and a checkable materials record £££ High: 94% of AW24 products met its preferred-materials criteria; fluorocarbon-free since 2015
Chervò Premium Aqua-Block waterproofs ££££ Low: a few pieces carry a "Recycle" tag, with no wider programme
Cross Sportswear Swedish stretch rainwear via a UK stockist £££ Low: mostly recycled or recyclable polyester, no certifications
Lululemon Golf Technical fabrics with UK stores and free returns £££ Mixed: 77% recycled polyester in 2024, but its single-use plastic target was dropped in late 2025
Stromberg Golf A budget ladies' kit with waterproofs £ Low: recycled polyester on some lines, no certification stated
Daily Sports A deep women-only range through UK retailers ££–£££ Moderate: recycled polyester on core pieces and a published 50% recycled-or-organic definition
Three Putt Golf Golf streetwear for off the course £–££ No recycled-content or eco claims; tees are 100% cotton

Summary

Swing Out Sister has built something genuinely useful. It sells bright, comfortable women's golf clothing with bottoms up to a UK 22, polos under £30 and free UK exchanges. Its customers agree, with an average of 4.7 out of 5 from 641 on-site reviews in October 2026.

Then it rains. The brand sells waterproof golf shoes and a winter boot, but no rain jacket, and that is the gap most of these alternatives fill. Röhnisch does it with a rain layer and a published materials record. Chervò and Cross bring rated waterproofs, Stromberg does it for under £130, and Daily Sports adds rainwear to a deep women-only range. Lululemon wins on convenience rather than weather.

Of the polo-makers here, only Stromberg matches Swing Out Sister on price. Three Putt doesn't compete for the round at all; its hoodies and tees are for the clubhouse. For more wet-weather options, see our guide to the best waterproof golf clothing.

Frequently Asked Questions About Swing Out Sister

What is Swing Out Sister known for?

Swing Out Sister is known for colourful, print-led British women's golf clothing at high-street prices, under the line "Designed For Golf | Styled For Life". Amelie polos cost £29.95, bottoms run UK 6–22 and tops XS–3XL, and product pages flag slim, regular or comfort fits. Free UK exchanges and free delivery over £75 complete the appeal.

Who owns Swing Out Sister, and when was it founded?

Swing Out Sister is independent. It trades as Swing Out Sister Golf Limited, whose director and majority shareholder is Lucy Dickman, according to Companies House. The company was incorporated in 2005 under another name and renamed in 2019. The business began as a pop-up selling other labels' women's golfwear, then launched its own range in 2016.

Does Swing Out Sister sell waterproofs?

Not as rainwear. In October 2026 the range had no waterproof jacket and no waterproof over-trousers. Outerwear runs to wind tops, gilets, a bomber and a fleece jacket. Waterproof claims stop at the Goody Two Shoes golf shoes, the Carla winter boot, panels on the Matilda knit and the brushed Harper trouser fabric, plus a £34.95 Star umbrella.

Is Swing Out Sister expensive?

No. At full price in October 2026, Amelie polos were £29.95, the Swing Sweatshirt £49.95, the Molly pleated skort £62.95, the Tamara windtop £69.99 and the Patricia fleece jacket £89.99. UK delivery is £4 under £75 and free above. Of the alternatives in this guide, only Stromberg's ladies' polos match those prices.

What sizes does Swing Out Sister go up to?

Trousers, shorts and skorts come in UK 6–22, and tops in XS–3XL, which the general chart maps to roughly UK 8–22. A few styles stop at XXL. Tops are labelled slim, regular or comfort fit. Several verified buyers say the trousers and shorts come up large, so check each style's size guide before ordering.

Does Swing Out Sister sell men's clothing?

Yes, in a small way. Brother is a 13-piece men's capsule launched in spring 2026, in sizes S–XXL. It includes polos at £44.95, the Luke quarter-zip mid layer at £59.95, the Billy Active jacket at £89.95 and the Patrick cap at £17.95. Everything else is women's golfwear, and there's no junior range.

What is Swing Out Sister's return policy?

You have 30 days from receipt to return unworn items with tags, through the brand's online Returns Portal. UK exchanges are free, which helps when you're choosing between three fits. A refund return costs £4.50 for the UK label, and international return labels cost £15.60–£35.25.
